Chapter 224 Camouflage Operation

Chapter 224: Disguise Action

Some people are always very active, making a decision one second and setting off the next.

That night, two figures rode out of the White City on horseback and ran quickly across the prairie.

Meanwhile, Ecthelion went to his father Turgon and showed him the golden apple.

“Does it really have such an effect?”

A golden apple that would never decay and could save lives was a treasure in terms of its efficacy, appearance, and material, even from the perspective of the ruler of the most powerful human kingdom in Middle-earth.

"Yes, father, I believe Lord Levi would not lie."

Turgon gently took the golden apple handed to him by his son, and his hand holding the apple sank slightly, and he felt his heart sink along with the apple.

This apple... is really heavy in every sense of the word.

"I'll leave it to you to keep."

After thinking for a moment, Turgon returned the golden apple.

"I can't use this thing in my current state."

"Yes...father."

The golden apple was quickly placed in a custom-made small box and placed in a safe place.

After discussing this matter, Turgon asked again: "I heard that you held a small party. How was it? Did you get along well?"

"It was very relaxing. Levi showed us his superb cooking skills. It was delicious. Senger and I couldn't help but drink more wine."

"That's good."

Turgon nodded and asked:

"Where are our friends now?"

"If it's convenient, I'll visit him again tomorrow."

"He's not here anymore, father."

"When did it happen?"

"Just now, as soon as the party ended, he dragged Senger out. They should be outside the city now."

"What did he do?"

"he…"

Eccelian was speechless for a moment, not knowing what expression to make.

"He said he wanted to go and give the King of Rohan a good beating. Senger agreed with his idea and offered to go with him."

"Okay, I understand."

Turgon answered, and after a pause he said:

"He is such a filial child."

"Are we just going to walk over here?"

As the night was about to pass and the sky was just getting light, Levi and Senger had already crossed the Merlin River, the dividing line between Gondor and Rohan, and officially entered the territory of Rohan.

Dew dotted the grass, and occasionally one or two drops were affected by the vibration caused by the horse's hooves not far away, and rolled down covered with a thin layer of frost.

"What else? You can't fly."

"Okay, but can we take a break? I'm having trouble breathing." Senger requested.

"You asked for it."

Levi turned his head and looked at Senger, who was wrapped tightly in a wide robe and dark cloth, even covering his head, without showing any mercy.

At this moment, only his eyes were exposed, and if you didn't know, you would think he was being robbed by bandits.

"There's not many people around here, can't you take down those thick cloths first?"

"No, I can't. I don't want anyone to see my face."

Senger said stubbornly: "I said at the beginning that I would never return to this land again. Now, even if I am just passing by, I don't want to be discovered."

"Okay, then you better be careful not to hurt yourself."

"So can we take a break?"

Senger made another request.

Well, this looks like it's really going to make me feel suffocated.

The horses stopped and a bonfire was lit.

Levi took out the pot and placed it on top. He picked two mushrooms from the rotten wood on the roadside and planned to cook a mushroom soup with the meat.

"That mushroom looks too brightly colored, and the cut surface changes color. To be honest, I doubt it. Is it really edible?"

Seeing Levi about to throw the washed mushrooms into the pot, Senger expressed concern.

"Don't worry, I'm sure everything will be fine."

"How do you know that?"

"I have."

If there is no poison buff after eating it, then it is a good mushroom.

"That's... quite convincing."

Gurgle.

The delicious aroma wafting from the pot whets your appetite.

"Even if it's just for this bowl of soup, I feel that my evening was not in vain."

Senger took the bowl handed to him by Levi and took a sip impatiently.

"This mushroom stewed with meat is really delicious. I remember the recipe. Do you mind if I teach it to my family? It's a pity that they can't eat this kind of food."

"Whatever you want, as long as you can do it."

"That's what you said."

Regardless of the fact that the soup in the bowl was still steaming, Senger drank it up in just a few gulps and then filled another bowl.

call--

When he finished the second bowl of soup, Senger let out a long breath, exhaled all the heat accumulated in his lungs, and felt relaxed all over.

It has been a long time since I felt this kind of relaxation as if I were on an outing.

For some reason, Senger felt quite happy - until a group of black spots approached in the distance.

He quickly put down the wooden bowl in his hand, put on his robe, and wrapped his face with the cloth scarf again.

Boom…

The vibration gradually approached, and a group of cavalrymen smoothly dispersed to both sides not far from the two people until they completely surrounded them.

Only then did Levi gently put down the soup in his hand and stand up from the stone.

"Greetings, Riders of Rohan."

He waved hello to the cavalrymen who were holding their spears tightly.

"They are not hostile." Senger reminded in a low voice.

"The spear wasn't pointed at us, and..."

As he was speaking, a man walked out from behind the cavalrymen, first dismounted, and then took off his helmet.

Take off the helmet - this means you are no longer on guard and the person coming is a friend, not an enemy.

"Greetings, Legend Levi."

As he spoke, he bowed to Levi.

"Judging from the style of his armor, this is the Marshal of Rohan. By the way, 'Marshal' is the highest military rank in Rohan, equivalent to the Commander-in-Chief of Gondor."

Senger, with his face covered, continued to whisper reminders in Levi's ears.

"You seem to know Rohan well."

The marshal looked at Senger with a somewhat surprised expression. After thinking about it for a while, he exclaimed again: "Hey, wait, that voice, is it you, Your Highness..."

"You're wrong!"

A sharp voice suddenly sounded beside him, and Levi was so scared that he turned his head to take a look.

Senger pinched his throat and shouted: "I am just a traveler passing by!"

"Oh, oh...I see."

The marshal looked meaningfully at the sweaty 'traveler' in front of him, and said to Levi: "Forgive us, we didn't mean to disturb you, you just happened to pass by our patrol area."

He pointed to a location on the west side and said, "That's Fort Ord, where our cavalry is stationed. If you need a place to rest, you can go there with us first."

"I appreciate your kindness, but I'm in a hurry. I have to continue on my journey after dinner."

"Then I wish you a safe journey."

Nodding at Levi, the marshal put on his helmet again and mounted his horse.

"That's right."

Before leaving, he turned around and asked, "It's just a routine matter. Can I ask about the direction and purpose of your trip?"

"Go to Edoras and beat your king."

"What!?"

The marshal widened his eyes and looked at Levi on the left and Senger on the right.

"Can you say that again?"

"I said, I'm going to beat up your king!"

"Sorry, the wind is a bit strong and I can't hear you!!"

A few meters away, the marshal shouted at the top of his lungs, turned around and waved his hand, quickly giving the order: "Let's retreat!"

They left.
