Chapter 348 Coercion

Chapter 348: Coercion

"Ringwraiths!"

The two people in the tower said the name of the uninvited guest at the same time. Saruman frowned and immediately returned the staff he had just snatched from Gandalf.

Gandalf quickly grabbed his staff and forced himself to stand.

hiss--

The ferocious flying beast roared and rushed towards the tower carrying a Ringwraith.

"Get out!"

Saruman raised his staff and drove it away.

However, there is more than one Ringwraith.

The other eight did not just stand there and watch. They swooped down together, trying to break through Saruman's solid defense.

"And me."

Just when Saruman couldn't hold on any longer, Gandalf stepped forward, put one hand on his shoulder, and took on a lot of pressure for him.

Saruman was startled.

I have never felt so pleasing to the eye as this boring and pedantic Gandalf.

"Dirty fellow, today I'll let you know whose territory this is!"

Saruman angrily cursed at the Ringwraiths in mid-air.

Boom!

There was a roar of thunder in the air, making people's ears buzz. A flash of green lightning struck the terrace of the tower before the sound, frying Saruman and Gandalf together, leaving them charred and falling to the ground.

puff--

Gandalf opened his mouth and blew out a cloud of black smoke.

He kind of missed the time when he was a guest at Roadside Fort. Roadside Fort was the best place, safe and harmonious, and he felt comfortable wherever he went.

Look at Isengard again.

I have never suffered so much in my life.

Saruman was in much better condition than Gandalf. He stood up with his cane and said:

"Look, what did I say? Sauron's spiritual power has almost recovered completely. Now even his lackeys have such strong power."

"If you hadn't insisted on holding me back and wasting my strength, how could I have ended up in this situation?"

"If you had told me the news of the ring earlier, when the ring fell into my hands, the Ringwraiths outside would have kneeled down and called me master instead of..."

Before Saruman could finish his words, the Chief of the Ringwraiths, the Lord of Morgul, and the (former) Witch-king of Angmar could not wait to laugh: "Hahahahahahaha - two disabled wizards, you think you can fight against us?"

"Instead of just standing there and laughing at us."

Saruman gritted his teeth and glared at those annoying Ringwraiths.

Gandalf could see that this guy was not in much better condition than himself.

He is holding on.

If I were to poke him on the back with my cane right now, he would definitely fall to the ground immediately.

"Whatever you say, we two don't stand a chance."

Gandalf lay on the ground, resigned to his impending fate.

"But I am not worried at all, whether it is our mission or the account between Sauron and the Ringwraiths."

He took a breath and continued, "Because I know that someone will help us get revenge, and someone will protect this land."

"In this case, even if I die, what's the harm?"

It would be easier to die early and return home early.

Gandalf sighed, took off the pipe from his staff, and then remembered that it had been broken by Saruman.

Then there was another sigh, and the sound was full of regret.

Saruman still stared at the Ringwraiths and just listened quietly.

Suddenly, those cold eyes, which were always filled with sarcasm and a crazy pursuit of power, calmed down for a moment.

When the Ringwraiths made another move, he suddenly said: "When did Gandalf the Grey, who is always known for bringing hope to people, say such depressing words?"

Boom! The Ringwraiths' charge was ineffective. They once again ran into some kind of defense mechanism of the tower and failed to break in.

Saruman's breathing stagnated, and after a moment's rest, he suddenly turned around, grabbed Gandalf's robe, and dragged him to the edge of the terrace with great effort.

"What are you going to do, Saruman?"

"Get out of my sight."

"What?"

Bang! Saruman suddenly raised his staff and hit Gandalf hard on the waist with it like he was hitting a golf ball, knocking him off the tower.

“Ah ...

Gandalf cried out in fear as he fell.

As he was falling, suddenly, he was dragged by a powerful force like a star. It was hard to tell whether this force was light or darkness. It carried a hint of vague brutality, dragging Gandalf far away and leaving Isengard at an extremely fast speed.

Until the Pass of Rohan.

Click.

After doing all these things, Saruman finally couldn't hold on any longer and collapsed to the ground.

The defenses of the tower of Orthanc failed completely. The figures of the Ringwraiths disappeared from the ferocious beast. An extremely evil wind blew into the top floor of the tower, extinguishing all light sources.

Nine dark figures emerged from the darkness. They drew their swords and surrounded the white-robed wizard in the middle.

Saruman turned his neck stiffly, looked left and right, and truly felt a sense of despair.

Well, sometimes it's nice to have an uninvited annoying guy.

However, miracles do not always happen.

"Come with us, wizard, the master wants you."

The Ringwraiths put their swords to Saruman's neck.

Can't run away.

Saruman closed his eyes, took off the Star Ring in his hand under the cover of his robe, and threw it quietly on the ground without making any sound and without attracting the attention of any Ringwraith.

They left.

"You look like a beggar."

In a fortress somewhere in the west of Rohan, Théoden, who happened to be passing by, looked at Gandalf with a black face and an extremely embarrassed look, and could not help but say this.

As for Gandalf, he no longer had the energy to argue with him.

"The situation is very serious. Theoden and Isengard have been captured by the Ringwraiths. We don't know if Saruman is alive or dead. There are a large number of Uruk-orcs who are taller and stronger than Orcs. Their camp is not clear yet. We must be on guard."

Theoden frowned and said:

"Those Ringwraiths flew over Rohan with impunity, and the cries of the ferocious beasts under their crotches caused considerable panic among the people."

"I was just chasing them here, and I didn't expect this to happen."

"That is indeed quite serious."

With a wave of his hand, Theoden called the marshal behind him and began to give orders for the vigilance of Isengard.

After that, he pointed at Gandalf and ordered: "Prepare a comfortable resting place for our wizard, he looks very tired."

“No need.”

Gandalf shook his head in denial.

"If you really want to help me, please provide me with a fast horse. I have to go find Levi."

"Okay then."

Théoden nodded. “You may choose any of the horses here. Ride whichever you like. I trust you will take good care of it.”

"Thank you very much."

Without further ado, Gandalf turned and left, heading straight for the manger.

Among the many idle and ownerless horses, he immediately caught his eye on a unique and unruly gray horse.

The horse's coat appeared grey at first glance, but shone like silver where the sun could reach it, and was a dark shadow in the shadows.

"What's its name?"

The stable boy at the side answered Gandalf's question: "Shadowfax."

"To be honest, this is the best horse in Rohan, the best of the best, the king of horses, and the king of all horses in the modern era."

"But I must remind you that although it runs very fast and can even outrun the horses at Roadside Castle, it has a very fierce temper and no one has ever been able to ride it."

"As I said just now, a king will not bow his head easily."

"It doesn't matter. That's it."

Gandalf said as he tried to mount his horse.

Then he was kicked and had a wound on his face.

"Okay, very good, you really have a bad temper, but this won't bother me."

You, the King of Horses, have a temper, but does the old wizard have no temper? Speaking of Shadowfax, the King of Horses is not called that for nothing. It took it only four days to carry Gandalf from Rohan to Wayside Castle.

However, it was actually a week later when Gandalf arrived at the roadside fort.

The extra three days were the time for him to play a game with Shadowfax. This best horse in Rohan was indeed difficult to tame. Poor old Gandalf kept falling and running away. He chased Shadowfax on the prairie for three whole days before he tamed it and successfully sat on its back.

However…

At the roadside fort, Jieying was panting, not caring about the gaze of Xiaofen above his head, and was eating grass and drinking water from the pond.

At the gate of the castle, looking at Gandalf, whose face was black, whose robe was in pieces and whose body was covered with injuries, Levi couldn't help but say, "Were you taken to Mordor to dig coal?"
