Chapter 391: Unstoppable
A huge shadow passed over the sea, and a large number of ships passed by in the bay south of Leibenning.
The hulls of the ships are pitch black, and the sails are huge, with scarlet eye marks or star marks painted on them, corresponding to the Haradrim and the defectors who split from Gondor thousands of years ago.
The overwhelming fleet scared away the fishermen near the bay. They fled in panic, abandoned their dilapidated houses, and dared not stay on the coast again.
And those huge black ships did not stop for these scattered poor fishermen. They had only one destination - Pelargir, the great royal shipyard of Gondor in ancient times and also an important transportation hub of Gondor.
"Have we arrived in time?"
On the green land of Lebening, Gimli looked into the distance with difficulty.
It has been four days since they walked out of the Road of the Dead. Not only are Aragorn and his companions here, but also a group of gray-clad knights who followed them.
“Not in time, but not too late either.”
Aragorn climbed up the high hill next to him in two or three steps and looked into the distance.
"How is it going?"
Boromir shouted from below.
He saw Aragorn mumbling something in a daze.
"Forty-eight, forty-nine, fifty..."
"What are you doing, counting?" Gimli could not help asking.
"No, I'm counting pirates."
"How many are they, fifty?"
Aragorn shook his head and answered, 'Fifty--fifty large ships, and so many smaller ones that it is difficult to count them all.'
"The defenders of Pelargir are about to collapse."
"So what are we waiting for?"
Gimli took a deep breath and raised his axe.
He roared and said, "It's our turn!"
Aragorn looked at the thick smoke, flames, broken city walls and the almost lost coastline in the distance, and at this moment he couldn't agree more with Gimli's words.
He raised the holy sword in his hand and said, "There is no time to lose. We..."
"Wait, what is that?"
Just as the group was about to set off, Legolas suddenly stopped and looked to the south.
A ship - a huge and heavyweight flagship was sailing down the broad river with the wind. A beam of white light shot up into the sky, showing its extraordinaryness.
Aragorn recognized the ship.
"That flag, that emblem, is the practical flagship of the Water City."
Without even bothering to shout any mobilization slogans, he immediately rushed down the hillside and headed all the way to the river bank. The group of people behind him paused for a moment and then hurried to catch up.
The huge monster almost cut through the river.
On the deck of the practice-class flagship at the forefront, a black figure stood facing the wind, carrying a greatsword.
He just stood at the bow, facing the pitch-black fleet that was blocking the port ahead, his hair fluttering in the wind, completely unafraid.
Perhaps attracted by the beam of light on the ship, the huge warm-colored ship was surrounded by circling birds, which circled the hull and kept chirping.
The clear calls and the sound of waves hitting the hull mixed together to form a pleasant natural music.
At this moment, the sunlight suddenly seemed particularly dazzling. It followed the huge ship, piercing through the dark clouds in the sky and penetrating the thick black smoke and flames in the port.
The Umbar pirates who were landing on the defensive gap were attracted by this extremely unusual movement and looked up.
Then I saw a horrifying scene.
Boom!
With a huge and harsh noise, the large ships that the pirates were proud of on the river bank were instantly shattered, and their retreat was cut off.
However, this is not the end. The huge ship that you can't see the top of when you raise your head is still moving forward, crushing the black fleet all the way and moving forward with overwhelming force.
The black sails with scarlet eyes painted on them sank one after another, and wooden fragments flew everywhere, soon covering the surface of the river.
“Yeah—go—go—!!!”
At Levi's side, feeling the continuous violent vibrations coming from beneath him and looking at the large and small black ships in front of him being smashed into pieces, Pippin excitedly drew out the dagger in his hand and shouted loudly.
It was not until the flagship Levi was on collided with the opponent's flagship that the momentum finally stopped and the shouting from the bow also stopped.
It was said to be a collision of flagships, but it was obvious that the Practice-class was more than one circle larger than the opponent's flagship, and behind the Practice-class was already full of black wreckage and pirates who had fallen into the water.
And the conventional ships of the Water City that arrived late behind.
"That's it, just right. If you hit me a few more times, I won't be able to hold on any longer..."
Levi muttered, and suddenly raised the greatsword in his hand and shouted: "Follow me aboard the ship!"
He shouted and carried Pippin onto the opposite flagship first. Many soldiers followed closely behind him, raising their weapons high.
"rush!!"
Pippin shouted, leaving Levi as soon as he landed, and rushed forward with his dagger in hand.
His arm length might not be enough to give him an advantage in battle, but Levi at the forefront and the aggressive Water City army behind him made up for it.
The pirates were immediately frightened by this momentum. By the time they recovered, it was already difficult for them to organize an effective counterattack, and they were quickly defeated.
At the same time, the defenders of Pelargir finally reacted, blew the horn and launched a counterattack.
The situation was reversed in just a moment.
“It’s shocking.”
On the shore, Boromir stared blankly at the scenery, wishing he was there too, boarding the ship and charging into the battle.
"By Durin, how did he do it?" Gimli opened his mouth wide and couldn't close it for a long time.
Aragorn was stunned for a moment, then responded: "Things created by Levi are always like this, both strong and fragile."
"What do you mean, don't you think your words are contradictory?"
"No, there is no contradiction at all, at least not when it comes to him." Aragorn shrugged and looked at Farodan.
Falodane was silent for a moment, and then said, "After spending more time with Levi, you will understand the meaning of that sentence. Sometimes, something that looks intact and quite solid will break immediately if he swings it a little more."
"But before it was damaged, it was extremely solid, and the same may be true of that ship."
Gimli closed his mouth. "It would be a pain to clean it up," he said.
Legolas on the side shook his head: "I don't think it matters. It has already broken a lot of things. It's definitely enough to give people a headache."
Gimli squinted and said nothing more.
Boromir drew his iron sword and said, "Stop chatting here, everyone, let us join in!"
“Ahaha!”
Gimli raised his axe. He was always the first to respond to his companions' call.
Then a brave and capable team appeared in the harbor. They rushed onto a black ship, defeated the larger force with a smaller one, and then drove the ship to the worst-hit area of the port and joined the main battlefield.
Unstoppable.
