Chapter 54: Chasing

Chapter 54: Chasing and Killing

Why are you, old Gandalf, rushing to grab the head when the health is low?

Levi put away his sword helplessly and said hello to Gandalf.

"You arrived just in time."

"Ahaha, wizards are never late, they just arrive at the right time." Gandalf said to Levi shamelessly.

He also tapped the three ogre statues in fleeing postures with his cane and nodded, seeming to be very satisfied with this masterpiece.

"Fortunately, no one is missing any limbs."

"This is all thanks to your Snitch, and Levi."

Thorin walked over slowly and greeted Gandalf as well, as if the little argument before had never happened at all.

"These trolls must have come down from the Ettenmoor."

Gandalf looked down at the black blood splattering from Levi's sword and spoke slowly.

"That's not a good sign."

The Ettenmoor is a dark land close to Angmar and the Misty Mountains, and is also one of the places where trolls often appear and live.

"The last time the ogres dared to go this far was when evil was rampant..."

That was the dark age when Sauron was still around.

Gandalf looked at Levi.

"Nothing can be predicted, maybe it is just as you think." Levi said something that only Gandalf could understand, leaving everyone else confused.

Sauron, it's not like he'll die so easily.

Even if he was chopped into meat paste, he could turn into a pool of black blood and be reborn many years later. Although the ring was lost, no one could say for sure that he had disappeared from this world.

However, at this moment, the only person who could confirm that Sauron was still active was Levi.

Gandalf shook his head, temporarily suppressed his doubts, and turned to look at the nearby terrain.

"Trolls can't move in the daylight. They must have a cave nearby."

However, while Gandalf was speaking, Levi had already skillfully climbed over a hill and found an entrance where flies and mosquitoes were flying around.

“This way!”

Levi held a torch and led the way.

"What kind of place is this? It smells so bad..." A group of dwarves covered their noses, and several of them started coughing because of the odor.

"The troll's treasure."

Crash.

When we reached the deepest part of the cave, suddenly, we felt something unusual under our feet.

Boxes of jewellery were piled up in the corner, and piles of gold and silver coins lay on the ground like small hills, glittering in the light of the torches.

"I've made a fortune."

Several dwarves picked up shovels and buried the treasures that could not be taken away to prevent others from discovering and taking them away.

Thorin picked up two pairs of swords from the dusty and cobweb-covered place nearby and looked at them carefully.

"This is not something a troll could make."

"It is also beyond the reach of human blacksmiths."

Gandalf took one of the swords, blew the dust off it, and looked at it carefully.

"This sword came from Gondolin, forged by the High Elves in the First Age."

When he heard that it was an elf's thing, Thorin immediately let go of his hand in disgust, and felt that the sword in his hand was instantly no longer...

"There is no better sword in the world."

It smells really good.

Thorin put away the sword, pulled it out, looked at it, and nodded with satisfaction.

[Glamdring] and [Ocrest].

Levi recognized the two swords at a glance. The former was the sword of Turgon, the Lord of Gondolin and the High King of the Noldor. The latter was a paired sword with the former. It was unknown who held it, but he must be a very capable elf.

Both swords have slain thousands of Orcs, and have earned their own unique names.

"Can you let me see it?"

Levi said to the two of them.

Without hesitation, Gandalf handed the sword over, and then Thorin handed it to Levi as well.

Levi took the two swords and looked at them carefully.

[Glamdrin] Attack +9.

[Ocrest] Attack +9.

The damage is the same as his own ancient sword, both are first-class swords.

"What do you think of this sword, Levi? If you like it, take it. I believe it can play a greater role in your hands." Seeing that Levi had been staring at the sword, Gandalf said tactfully.

Your own cane is fine to use, and you don't necessarily need an extra sword.

"It's a very nice sword, but not necessarily better than mine."

Levi handed the two swords back and drew out his own ancient elven sword.

Even in the dark cave, when the sword was drawn, its edge still shone like ice.

Compared with the other two, this sword has a more sharp feeling.

Regardless, these are swords that are stronger and sharper than netherite swords.

After hiding the treasure in the cave, the group walked out.

During this time, Gandalf caught a glimpse of an elven dagger on the ground that looked quite sharp, so he picked it up and handed it to Bilbo, giving him some instructions.

“True courage lies not in deciding when to kill, but in deciding when to forgive.”

"Something is approaching!"

Suddenly someone shouted outside, and Gandalf went out to check immediately. Bilbo stared at the dagger for a while and then followed out.

However, it soon became clear that it was just a false alarm.

It was Radagast the Brown.

"Gandalf, there is something wrong in the Green Forest. There are many evil spiders. They must be the spawn of Ungoliant."

Ungoliant, a powerful being similar to an alien evil god born in the void, has now disappeared. Just one of its offspring, "Shelob", is enough to make Sauron dare not provoke it, and he can only occasionally send a few orcs to it for food.

"I went to Dol Guldur to see it. It was horrible... Oh, and I also found this."

Radagast pulled out a tightly wrapped sword.

This is the sword of the Witch-king of Angmar.

Gandalf looked solemn.

Roar! Suddenly, a wolf howl interrupted their conversation. A worg jumped down from a high place and was killed by Levi with a sword. Then several more jumped down and attacked, but they were also quickly dealt with.

"Worg scouts, that means there's a large group of orcs approaching!"

"We have to get out of here."

"No, all the ponies have been scared away!" A dwarf ran over in a panic and added, "Except Levi's."

Bilbo sighed.

Well, it was all in vain.

"I'll lead them away."

"I'll take them out."

The man in brown robe and Levi said this almost at the same time. They glanced at each other sideways, and it was unknown what they were thinking.

"Those are the wolves of Gundabad. They will catch up with you," Gandalf said to the brown robe.

"This is the Rossgobel hare. I'd like to give it a try."

Seeing that there was no time to argue, Gandalf looked at Radagast and then at Levi.

"I think it's better to..."

After a moment.

On the plain, half of the wolves were chased and chopped by Levi on horseback, while the other half chased Radagast and bit him.

Gandalf led the dwarves and Bilbo running in another direction, avoiding pursuit by a group of wolf riders led by a small leader.

"Damn it, forget about the wizard riding the hare, go and hold that human back, let's kill the dwarf first!" The little leader gave the order angrily.

As the brown-robed troops withdrew, the pressure on Gandalf and the dwarves increased suddenly, but they were still able to cope with it.

"I finally understand. It turns out that Levi wasn't just bragging."

Bofur quietly poked his head out from behind a huge rock, and looked at a group of howling wolves being chased by Levi, with a sigh on his face.

"I really don't know how there are such strong humans in the world. I've never heard of it."

"There are still many things you don't know. Let's go now!" Gandalf urged, leading the dwarves to a secret entrance.
