Well, let’s end it here. I hope I didn’t disappoint you guys.
This is the second time I write something like this, and I feel very emotional.
At New Year's Day last year, I posted a small update on the Writer's Assistant looking forward to the future. At that time, the goal I set for the new book was to double the performance of the old book, and I would be satisfied if I could reach an average of 2,000.
Now, with the last chapter written, the achievement has been achieved!
This feeling of setting a goal and achieving it is really magical and satisfying.
But when I think about the journey I have taken, I really feel ashamed to face all of you readers who have supported me.
First, when it was first put on the shelves, I overslept that day and didn’t hear the alarm, so I hadn’t posted the new chapter by the time the deadline came.
I remember it clearly, when I woke up and looked at the clock, it was already 2 o'clock in the afternoon!!!
It was put on the shelves at 12 noon, and I actually overslept!
I broke out in a cold sweat at that time.
Then we had to cut a section of the Hong Kong plot, hahaha... those who understand will understand.
Later, as I wrote down all this, my grades gradually improved, but when did it happen?
I remember going to the place where tanks were delivered and maids from island countries were collected.
I won't talk about the first one, some people are complaining about it being too lascivious, this and that, all kinds of things they can't stand, I think I mentioned that in my book? I almost forgot.
Anyway, let me put it this way. As for the tank I wrote about, if there are any gentlemen in Beijing, you can just navigate to No. 4 Courtyard of Huaishuling and you will see this thing. It was obtained from Iran back then.
Reading...some people have to kneel down to read, isn't that disgusting?
I'm really too lazy to explain to those who criticize me for this.
…
Let’s talk about the maid again. It seemed that a large number of people left because she was too cruel.
At that time... well, how to explain it, I saw some people's comments, saying that it was too much, too cruel and so on.
Later I also changed the wording in some chapters.
It's not that I'm trying to make up for anything, but at this point, I've come to realize that novels, no, online articles, are just online articles.
Readers...some people just read books based on their feelings, for no reason, even if reality is a hundred times more magical than fiction.
The author wants to tell a story to the readers, and there are many deviations in the process. Some big guys have good writing and good stories, so the results are naturally good. As for me, my writing is terrible, and the story is not so... Anyway, the result is just like this in the end.
But I am still like the heroine I chose in the previous book, and I don’t regret it.
The original intention of writing this book was... in addition to writing about domestic themes, I mainly wanted to use the perspective of an aristocrat to look at the dark side of those aristocratic masters who are high and mighty in the public's perception or hidden in the dark.
But the reality is still very cruel, and I think what I wrote can only be said to be the most superficial and gentle side.
I wanted to write about a bad, festering Mr. Allen who had only a little bit of bottom line, but in the end... I could only write about a slightly bad Mr. Allen.
I feel like a failure.
…
But many people may still feel that it is cruel, excessive, and beyond their cognition.
Well... for some things, perhaps the public's impression of them is that they are so-called elegant and noble, right?
Some people say that I have no main plot. When I first started writing the book, some people pointed at my nose and called me a traitor, saying that what I wrote was a eulogy to Britain.
"???"
Haha... So funny. From the beginning to the end, have I been mixing trouble-making, interference, and darkness into this, overtly or covertly?
Isn't this the main plot?
This is their nature!
Based on the partial information I found, what I saw was just the tip of the iceberg, so... I am just a loser. Thank you to all the readers who have stayed with me all the way to the end.
Oh, I feel very emotional. If you want your writing to have a wide audience, you have to write about things that are within the public's cognition. It can't be too unpopular or too biased. The original name of this book was "The Loyal and Brave Earl of Great Heroes". I remember my editor told me that it was too niche and asked me to give it a try. I didn't think so much about it when I was writing it. My thought at the time was, no matter how bad the results were, could it be worse than the first book?
Now that I have achieved this result, I am quite satisfied.
Yes, with an average subscription of over 2,400, it would almost be considered a high-quality product, if so many people hadn’t left... Never mind, I don’t regret it, I just feel a little bit disappointed.
This is my own problem. I like to pursue some ridiculous sense of logic in my novels. I want to achieve the kind of feeling that the story is worthy of some slight scrutiny and not too brainless.
I also pursue a little bit of realism, which can be considered as a realistic type.
Every time I think about making it popular, simple and brainless, but every time I start writing, I still struggle again and again, look up information, and try my best to make my argument coherent and consistent with surface logic.
Sometimes I am like a lunatic, and maybe no one has noticed. I seldom write specific times and dates, and the time is sometimes very vague. One reason is to downplay the reality as much as possible, but another reason is that although I write very little, every time I really write, I like to write about the weather of the day or something like that. The last book was like that.
Those weather conditions...I checked them one by one!
Although it may seem crazy, I can sometimes spend an hour checking the weather.
Later, in order to avoid the trouble of checking the weather, I tried to write as little specific time as possible.
…
Okay, I have written so much and you may be tired of reading it, so I will stop here. By the way, I would like to mention that someone reported my group before the New Year and the group exploded. Then you reported me again during the Lantern Festival. You deserve to die, little black man!
You'll never get to eat four hot dishes in your life!
…
After finishing this book, I still need to write a new book to make a living...
But from February last year to now, I haven’t had a proper rest for more than a year. The gentlemen in the group may know that I have been suffering from back pain as I get older. This is why I have updated less in the later period. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and cannot get up due to the pain, so I have not been able to sit for a long time.
I caught a cold and had a fever the past two days. It was supposed to be completed by the end of the month, but it was delayed another day.
I want to take a good rest for about a month, as the new book will be out in April at the earliest.
Well... I have explained everything that needs to be explained. Finally, I would like to thank you all. I hope I have not let you down. Thank you for your company and support along the way. I wish you all the best!
Dear gentlemen, see you in the new book.
Heart shape.
