Chapter 196 Inviting Brother Guoqiang to Take Action

Seeing that she couldn't persuade her, Wenxi shook her head helplessly. Her best friend, Miss Shen, always seemed to be able to show an extraordinary stubbornness and calmness at certain times.

Without saying another word, Wenxi sighed softly, turned and left with light steps, leaving behind the aroma of tea and Miss Shen's unmoving figure.

Miss Shen sat in the antique-style tea room, holding a blue and white porcelain cup in her hand. The aroma of tea rose gently, reflecting in her deep eyes, as if telling a secret unknown to others.

A faint smile graced her face, but behind that smile lay deep contemplation of what was about to happen.

The tea room was so quiet that only the occasional birdsong from outside the window and the soft sound of Shen Biyao gently stirring the tea could be heard.

Just as the tranquility was about to freeze, the door opened slightly, and a man wearing a black baseball cap slowly stepped in.

Although his steps seemed leisurely, they revealed a composure and vigilance that should not be underestimated, as if each step was on an invisible rhythm.

The man was tall with broad shoulders and a thick back, and even the casually draped coat could not conceal the fierce aura emanating from him.

His face was hidden in the shadow of his baseball cap, revealing only a pair of sharp, eagle-like eyes that held both indifference to the world and a hint of cunning.

This is the big brother known as "Brother Guoqiang" in the Binhai underworld, a name that once struck fear into the hearts of the entire Binhai underground world.

Guoqiang walked into the tea room, his gaze sweeping around before finally settling on Miss Shen.

He didn't sit down immediately, but instead walked slowly around Miss Shen in an almost scrutinizing manner, as if he wanted to take in every subtle expression of her during this brief walk.

Miss Shen remained calm and composed, her eyes showing no fluctuation as she quietly awaited Brother Guoqiang's next move.

Finally, Brother Guoqiang stopped and slowly sat down in the chair opposite Miss Shen. His movements were elegant and indescribable, which contrasted sharply with his fierce aura.

After sitting down, he did not speak immediately, but first gently touched the brim of his hat, as if he was adjusting his mindset or trying to hide some emotion in his heart.

"Miss Shen, you couldn't have just come to see me for something as simple as having tea, could you?" Guoqiang's voice was deep and magnetic, each word sounding as if it had been carefully crafted, both clear and powerful.

Although his tone carried a hint of mockery, it was more of an unquestionable authority.

Miss Shen smiled slightly, put down her teacup, looked directly at Brother Guoqiang, and said, "Brother Guoqiang is indeed a smart man. I'm here to discuss important matters with you."

Her voice was equally calm, yet carried an undeniable air of authority.

Guoqiang narrowed his eyes slightly, seemingly weighing the truthfulness of Miss Shen's words.

After a moment, he asked, "Oh? Tell me, what is it that would make Miss Shen personally intervene?"

Miss Shen did not answer immediately, but picked up a document from the small table next to her and gently pushed it in front of Brother Guoqiang.

Guoqiang took the document, glanced at it, and his face instantly turned gloomy.

It was an arrest warrant, with Guoqiang's name and photo prominently displayed, along with a series of shocking charges.

"It seems that Brother Guoqiang hasn't been having an easy time lately." Miss Shen's voice carried a hint of sympathy, but it was quickly replaced by determination. "However, this is a good opportunity for me to cooperate."

Guoqiang sneered, threw the wanted poster back on the table, and a ruthless glint flashed in his eyes: "Miss Shen, are you trying to use me as a pawn? Don't forget, we're in the same boat now."

Miss Shen shook her head dismissively: "Brother Guoqiang, you've misunderstood. I just want you to help me solve a small problem. After it's done, I'll give you one million in cash, and I promise."

Upon hearing this, a hint of greed flashed in Guoqiang's eyes, but he quickly regained his composure.

However, one million is indeed a considerable temptation for him now, especially given his broken cash flow and his current situation of being on the run.

"Who is the 'minor trouble' Miss Shen is referring to?" Guoqiang's voice held a newfound caution; he knew that the "minor trouble" could very well be a major one.

“A young man named Zhang Fanyi.” A barely perceptible chill flashed in Miss Shen’s eyes. “He seems to be investigating something he shouldn’t know. I need him to shut up forever.”

Guoqiang nodded, already having made up his mind.

“Alright, I’ll take this job.” Guoqiang’s voice was resolute and unquestionable. “However, Miss Shen had better make sure your information is accurate. I don’t want to be caught off guard.”

Miss Shen nodded in satisfaction, took an envelope from her handbag, and gently pushed it in front of Brother Guoqiang: "This is the deposit. The balance will be paid after the matter is settled."

Guoqiang took the envelope, his fingertips gently stroking the seal, a complex light flickering in his eyes.

It's quite a sad state of mind that a once-powerful triad boss is now working as an assassin.

Before, opening any venue would have been a way to make a fortune; there was no reason to take action against a boss for a mere million.

If I hadn't fallen out with Zhong Jiahao and then killed him, things wouldn't have come to this.

All of this is because that grandson of Zhong Jiahao sold fake flour, and the root of it all is the Shen family.

Miss Shen watched Guoqiang leave. This was a qualified assassin. It was worth paying him more money to take action.

The key point is that he is a wanted criminal, so even if he gets caught, he is not afraid.

No one will believe what a wanted criminal says.

Therefore, whether it's failure or success, it has nothing to do with me.

This is a win-win situation, so there's absolutely no need to worry.

Wanting to lose a lot of money is wishful thinking; wanting to ruin your own affairs is also wishful thinking.

Miss Shen opened her phone to check today's order status.

Not bad, the underground lottery market has been established, and now it's just a matter of counting money every day.

I came to the mainland to make money, not to lose money.

Once the money is in your pocket, not a single penny should ever leave.

Miss Shen held a cup of tea, her eyes filled with a charming smile.

Wenxi, Wenxi, why are you scared?

Why does she seem a little afraid of that kid? What's so scary about him?

Watch how I manipulate him!

He had already laid out his plans step by step, and that kid had no chance; he was doomed!
