Chapter 233 Questioning Wu Yali

Zhong Haiming has always been known for his ruthlessness and cunning.

Facing a lady from a prestigious family like Miss Shen, he felt no fear whatsoever; on the contrary, a strange sense of superiority arose within him.

In his view, these young ladies from prominent families, though outwardly glamorous, were actually like delicate flowers in a greenhouse, fragile and vulnerable. In particular, their excessive concern for their reputation was the biggest weakness he could exploit.

"Hmph, so what if she's Miss Shen? She still has to dance in my palm, doesn't she?" Zhong Haiming chuckled inwardly. Recalling his previous encounter with Miss Shen, he thought he could easily win her over with his methods and experience, making her an important pawn in his power structure.

However, to his surprise, the seemingly gentle Miss Shen had a stubborn and unyielding spirit, and dared to look down on him, which made him feel unprecedentedly frustrated and angry.

"You bitch, how dare you look down on me, Zhong Haiming! If I don't teach you a lesson, you'll really think you can rise above your station and become a phoenix?"

Zhong Haiming gritted his teeth, a ruthless glint in his eyes. He knew all too well that to gain a foothold in this industry, one had to be as hard-hearted as iron and ruthless in their methods.

Since Miss Shen doesn't know how to be appreciative, then don't blame him for being impolite.

Zhong Haiming was pondering how to subtly teach her a lesson, making her understand that in this dog-eat-dog world, beauty and family background cannot be a permanent shield.

Today, I drove to the teahouse where I had arranged to meet Huo Deguang. On the surface, it was to drink tea and catch up, but in reality, I already had a plan in mind.

Huo Deguang seems to be making some frequent moves lately, which has forced Zhong Haiming to be on high alert.

As for Miss Shen's tricks, he was well aware of them; it was nothing more than a carefully designed scheme to exploit the conflict between him and Huo Deguang to achieve some ulterior motive.

"Trying to use me? Hmph, you're still too green!" Zhong Haiming sneered, his eyes revealing disdain and arrogance.

He walked confidently into the teahouse, only to be greeted by the murmurs of the people inside. The focus of their conversation was Wu Yali—the woman with whom he had once had a brief affair, and her child who was supposedly not of the Zhong family bloodline.

"Oh, isn't this President Zhong? I heard Wu Yali's child is a foreigner's, it has nothing to do with you!" A sharp and sarcastic voice rang out, and the people around cast strange glances, as if waiting to see Zhong Haiming make a fool of himself.

Zhong Haiming's face instantly turned pale, a color tinged with anger and humiliation.

He never expected that he would become the subject of everyone's gossip in such a setting.

What he found even more unacceptable was that the rumors about Wu Yali were so openly made public, which was undoubtedly a great provocation to his personal dignity.

"Damn it, these sons of bitches, how dare they talk about me like that!" Zhong Haiming was burning with anger, but he didn't lash out immediately. Instead, he suppressed his anger and forced a cold smile onto his face, as if to tell everyone, "Go ahead and say whatever you want, I, Zhong Haiming, don't care about these things." However, his heart felt like it was being gnawed by a million ants, and he was in unbearable pain and itching.

"I'm not drinking anymore, this tea is no fun!" Zhong Haiming flicked his sleeves and strode out of the teahouse, heading straight for the hospital.

He wanted to find Wu Yali and confront her to ask her if these rumors were true.

Throughout the journey, countless thoughts flashed through Zhong Haiming's mind, each filled with anger and dissatisfaction towards Wu Yali.

He vowed to make Wu Yali give a reasonable explanation, otherwise he would not let it go.

As for those who dare to gossip behind his back, he will never let them get away with it. He wants them to know what price they will pay for offending Zhong Haiming.

And so, filled with rage and arrogance, Zhong Haiming drove straight to the hospital, where a storm was about to erupt...

Zhong Haiming drove like the wind, the wheels rumbling over the asphalt, as if venting his inner anger.

His eyes were cold, and a disdainful smile played on his lips—a smile of contempt for all the rules of the world and for those who challenge them.

In his world, there are only winners and losers, and he will always be the winner who stands at the peak and looks down on all living beings.

"Wu Yali, you wait, I'll make you pay for betraying me!" Zhong Haiming muttered to himself, each word seemingly squeezed out from between his teeth, carrying a chilling coldness.

No matter what reasons or difficulties Wu Yali may have, it cannot change the fact that she betrayed the truth.

In his eyes, betrayal is betrayal, and there is no excuse for it.

The scenery outside the car window rushed past, but Zhong Haiming's thoughts remained unusually clear.

He recalled his past with Wu Yali, those sweet times, those tender nights, and now it seemed that they were all lies that Wu Yali had carefully woven to get close to him and for some purpose.

Thinking of this, Zhong Haiming felt an unprecedented surge of anger and humiliation. He felt as if an invisible hand was choking him, making it difficult for him to breathe.

"When have I, Zhong Haiming, ever suffered such humiliation?" he muttered to himself, his voice filled with resentment and determination.

He vowed to make Wu Yali pay for her actions and to let the whole world know what the consequences would be for challenging Zhong Haiming's authority.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Zhong Haiming didn't linger for a moment, heading straight for Wu Yali's ward. In the corridor, nurses and patients cast curious glances, but Zhong Haiming ignored them; his eyes were only on Wu Yali, the woman he both loved and hated.

Pushing open the door to the ward, Zhong Haiming immediately saw Wu Yali lying on the bed, and the child beside her who was said to be not his blood relative.

At that moment, his gaze became even colder, as if he wanted to pierce through Wu Yali.

"Wu Yali, what else do you have to say?" Zhong Haiming said coldly, his tone filled with unquestionable authority.

He stood in the center of the ward, like an unshakable statue, radiating a suffocating sense of oppression.

"What are you doing here, acting crazy? Your home is still here!"

Wu Yali completely disregarded Zhong Haiming.

"You, you bitch, look at the child, do you think he's mine?"

Zhong Haiming was furious. "That bitch, she won't admit it even when she's about to die!"

"Yours? Old Zhong's? What do you mean 'yours'?"

Wu Yali looked over with disdain.

Old Zhong's? Even if it's that old man's, could it be black?

That's a lie.

"Besides, didn't the doctor tell you about the possibility of gene mutation? What are you barking about here? Get the hell out of here!"

Wu Yali pointed outside.

They didn't take Zhong Haiming seriously at all.

"You bitch!"
