Chapter 83: It was not his body that was gently whipped by her, but his heart
During this time, she had begun to understand him and knew that he was neither troubled nor afraid of trouble, but riding a horse was not just about anything else: "Aren't you afraid of falling? What if you fall off the horse?"
Ah Pa smiled and pulled her away: "Don't worry about your lover. I think he is a man. Leave him to Ali Khan. He is the best rider. I will let Bota teach you. Ali Khan was taught riding by her."
Qin Tian turned his head every three steps. Ali Khan was explaining the key points of mounting a horse to Tong Zhongyuan. Tong Zhongyuan said something, and Ali Khan took off his gloves and handed them to him. He put on the gloves, took the reins, patted the horse's back, and said something to Ali Khan with a smile. Ali Khan nodded at him, put his hand on the horse's back, and climbed onto the horse neatly.
Qin Tian stopped and Ah Pa also saw it. Ah Pa said in surprise: "So he can do it."
After she finished speaking, she looked at Qin Tian, smiled and shook her head: "You said he was not your lover, but I didn't believe it. It turns out he really is not your lover. You don't even know him."
Bota had already led her horse over. Qin Tian, still looking in Tong Zhongyuan's direction, squeezed the horse's belly and it broke into a trot. After running a hundred meters along the fence, he tightened the right rein and the horse obediently turned right and then came back.
Ali Khan put his fingers to his lips and whistled, and the horse immediately galloped in his direction. Tong Zhongyuan leaned over and hooked his fingers on the reins, and the horse, under his control, turned and headed back towards the grassland.
Ali Khan laughed heartily, turned around and gave Qin Tian a thumbs up.
Bota was surprised and said, "Your lover is a good rider. This horse was raised by Ali Khan and usually obeys his orders."
Qin Tian took the reins from her and smiled shyly: "I thought he wouldn't, and I didn't want to take any risks for him."
She grasped the saddle with one hand and lightly stepped on the stirrup with her left foot. She was already rising into the wind and landed lightly on the horse's back. She raised the corner of her mouth and said, "But actually, I can do it too, and I'm not weak."
Ali Khan looked at her in amazement, seeing her riding a horse in bright clothes, galloping from a distance. Her voice came closer: "Ali Khan! Give me the whip."
He had just pulled out the whip when she passed by like the wind, bent down and grabbed it, but his hand was empty and the whip was in her hand.
"Thank you." Her voice quickly faded away in the direction of her lover.
Ali Khan walked over to his mother and great-grandmother in a daze. They were discussing her. Ah Pa said that they were really colleagues, not lovers.
Ali Khan was shocked and asked hurriedly, "Really? Not her lover?"
Ah Pa glanced at him and grinned: "Silly boy."
Ali Khan continued to ask, and Bota smiled helplessly and raised his chin towards the other side of the grassland: "It wasn't before, but it will be soon."
Green grass stretched into the distance, and the hooves of galloping horses approached like a torrential downpour. Tong Zhongyuan looked back. As red as fire, swift as the wind, and as fast as lightning, she passed by him and whipped his horse's rump. He was startled for a moment, lowering his body to meet the sudden acceleration. The horse galloped away, quickly catching up. Qin Tian saw that he was getting close, so he kicked the horse's belly with his stirrups. The horse got the signal and closed the gap again.
He watched her running faster and faster with trepidation, afraid that if he chased her too hard, she would run even harder, so he had no choice but to shout at her, "I'm not chasing you, slow down."
Qin Tianfu turned around and shouted with a smile: "Don't you want to play games? Don't you want to entertain your parents with colorful clothes? They are all watching, show your skills."
The wind whistled in his ears, and the greenery of the mountains and plains rushed towards him. His eyes were focused only on the red ahead, and his blood and heartbeat rushed violently. He wrapped the reins between his ring fingers, clamping the horse's belly tightly, and with a soft shout, he caught up.
Apa and Bota cheered loudly. The tourists thought the girl-chasing activity was over, but they saw a Han Chinese man dressed as a tourist chasing a Kazakh girl across the grassland. They turned back and watched with relish.
A touch of red and a streak of white chase the wind and the sun across the Tohulasu grasslands. The red flames are like fire, the white light is like lightning, chasing relentlessly, inseparable.
Tong Zhongyuan followed Qin Tian to the designated spot, and the two slowed down, letting the horses circle. Qin Tian looked at him with a smile, the feathers on his hat fluttering in the wind.
"Isn't it fun to tease me?" She pointed at him with the whip.
"I wasn't kidding you. I was just about to say something when you left."
"Tell me the truth, are you really doing this just to get Ah Pa to give me the robe?"
"Fake."
She was stunned for a moment: "Why is that? To show off? To show off?"
The two horses circled clockwise, his beginning her end, hers his, over and over again. He looked at her from afar on horseback, watching the colors cast by the sunlight and clouds on her face.
He didn't answer her question. He looked back at the starting point and asked, "Are you going to chase me in the second half?"
Qin Tian raised the whip in his hand and said with a sweet smile: "Chasing you, and whipping you with the whip. This is the essence of chasing a girl."
As soon as he finished speaking, Tong Zhongyuan turned around and smiled, then rushed towards the starting point like an arrow, running as fast as lightning, his figure getting smaller rapidly.
Qin Tian was stunned and hurriedly chased after him, his shouts echoing across the grassland.
"Tong Zhongyuan! You're cheating again!!!"
Two figures, one red and one white, galloped through the deep and light green. Behind him, Tong Zhongyuan heard the sound of something slicing through the air. Qin Tian's whip, raised high, struck him with a sharp force that pierced the air, only to land lightly on his neck. The rough leather whip scraped across his skin, giving him an indescribable and strange sensation.
She chased him, the whip in her hand dancing in the dazzling sunlight as if it had life, gently lashing him on the shoulders and back. She had just told Tong Zhongyuan that being whipped was the essence of pursuit, but she hadn't told him that the strength of the whip symbolized the weight of her affection. How could a Kazakh girl bear to see her beloved hurt?
The last group of girls finished their chase, and the two horses returned to the starting point, one in front of the other. The Kazakhs shouted and laughed, and the tourists applauded.
Tong Zhongyuan let go of the reins, looked up at the sky, and let the horse, unable to stop its pace, continue to gallop across the wilderness. Just as unstoppable as the horse's speed was his heart. The back of his neck still clung to the touch of the whip. It wasn't his shoulders, it wasn't his body, that was being gently whipped, it was his heart.
Qin Tian returned to the fence and jumped off the horse easily. She caressed the horse's nose affectionately and thanked it for its good work.
Ali Khan came over and looked at her eagerly. She reluctantly handed him the reins and the whip.
"Thank you for inviting me. I'm so happy."
Ali Khan looked at the whip in his hand and treasured it in his arms.
"How long will you stay? I want to take you to Tianshan Mountain to pick snow lotus."
Qin Tian smiled. She could see that this young man from another race liked her.
"I'm leaving today."
"Will you come again?"
"I will. I will."
Apa and Bota stood not far away, watching them. Bota's face was a little worried, while Apa's gray-brown eyes were full of insight. She put her arm around Bota's shoulders.
"From today on, Ali Khan has regrets. He is no longer a child, he will become a true eagle that soars high."
The sun had already set in the west, turning the Tohulasu grassland into a golden color. People laughed and danced on the golden grass, reluctant to leave.
Qin Tian walked back to the fence. In the distance, Tong Zhongyuan's horse had slowed down and was strolling leisurely. He didn't pull the reins, letting it take him wherever it wanted. He was facing the backlight, so her expression couldn't be seen clearly. But she knew he was looking at her.
He must have been very unhappy after being whipped by her. She laughed happily, as bright as the sun. She pulled up her skirt and curtsied in his direction. She raised her chin, her face full of pride.
He rode towards her, stopped in front of her, stared at her, and held out his hand to give her a handful of unknown wild flowers.
"You win."
The bell of the Customs House struck twelve, and no one spoke. He Wu was calling his name anxiously.
"Your mother is calling you," she said.
"Well, I'm leaving then."
"Write to me when you get there. My dad likes foreign stamps."
"Look at me happy."
She lowered her head and said nothing. He looked at her, turned around and left. After walking a few steps, he turned back.
"Qin Yizhang, are you crying?"
She looked up and smiled.
"How is that possible!"
He looked for a moment, then left, waving his hand behind his back.
She understood that he would never look back. This was his farewell, but not hers. She shouted at his back: "Tong Zhongyuan!"
He turned around and looked into the distance.
She straightened her back, lifted her skirt, and slowly curtsied, a curtain call.
