Chapter 34 Let's live together. My room, your room, you choose one

She waited all day for the address. By eight o'clock that evening, her phone had been beeping several times, but none of them were addresses. This made her a little nervous. Just after eight o'clock, she said goodnight to Tong Zhongyuan and told him not to stay up too late. She returned to her room, changed into her going-out clothes, held her phone, bit her lip, and waited.

At nine o'clock, a text message arrived. It was from a virtual number. The address was in the suburbs of Xi'an. Qin Tian looked at the address for a full minute, then opened the door and went downstairs.

She walked to the hotel entrance, and the doorman asked if she wanted a taxi. A taxi arrived, and the customer got out. Just as she was about to get in, someone grabbed the door handle. She looked up, and saw Tong Zhongyuan looking at her gravely.

"Where are you going so late?"

She was speechless for a moment. She had never expected Tong Zhongyuan to follow her. She concluded, "I have an appointment with a friend."

"What friends? Where do we meet?"

Qin Tian was shocked. He had always been the most respectful of privacy, so how could he change so much after getting sick?

"You don't know him."

Qin Tian was about to open the door and get in, but just as the door opened, Tong Zhongyuan slammed it shut. The taxi driver turned to look at them. A passenger next to him saw this, opened the door, and got in. The taxi drove away.

Qin Tian was stunned for a moment before he reacted.

"What are you doing? I'm in a hurry."

Tong Zhongyuan grabbed her wrist and walked towards the lobby. She tried to shake his hand off, but he held it tightly and she couldn't break free.

"Tong Zhongyuan!" She was a little angry and raised her voice, "What are you doing!"

He let her go when they reached the lobby. He spoke, his voice sounding calm, but suppressing his anger.

"Call your friend and I'll go with you tomorrow morning."

"I'm just meeting with a friend. This has nothing to do with you. You're not well yet, so go to bed early. I'll be back soon." Qin Tian also said to him while suppressing his anger.

Tong Zhongyuan kept looking at her with an unfathomable look in his eyes.

"Do you really have to go now?"

Qin Tian glanced at her phone and realized she had wasted 15 minutes. She was not sure if she could still find Lao Yu after 10 o'clock.

"yes."

Tong Zhongyuan said nothing more. He walked towards the hotel entrance and waved his hand to hail a taxi. A taxi stopped, and he opened the door and looked back at Qin Tian.

Qin Tian had a vague feeling of foreboding, but she still walked over and got in the car without hesitation. Tong Zhongyuan closed the door. She secretly breathed a sigh of relief. But the next second, the passenger door opened and he got in.

The driver asked, "Where are you two going?"

Tong Zhongyuan said nothing, and Qin Tian was speechless. The driver looked at him strangely, then turned back to look at her.

"What are you doing?" Qin Tian said with difficulty.

"Tell me the address." He said lightly.

"No, I'm having a party with my friends. Why are you going?" Qin Tian said, grabbing his hair.

"It won't bother you. I'll wait outside."

The driver was getting impatient: "Why don't you two get out and discuss this? The car behind us is still waiting."

"Just drive it casually first." Tong Zhongyuan said.

The driver glanced at him and started slowly.

"Stop the car!" Qin Tian shouted, "Sorry, master, I don't want to take it anymore."

She opened the car door and got out, then opened the passenger door. He also got out.

"I'm not going. Let's go back to the hotel."

Without waiting for his answer, she walked towards the hotel, got on the elevator, and when she reached his room door, she said, "Good night," and continued walking back to her room. After a few steps, she didn't hear the door open. When she turned around, Tong Zhongyuan was still behind her, not returning to the room.

She looked at him in surprise. He said, "I'll go to your room and sleep."

She didn't react for a moment: "You want to change rooms with me?"

"You sleep in your room, and I'll sleep on the sofa."

She understood. He didn't trust her. She couldn't go out tonight unless she asked him to go with her. But how could she possibly let him go? He'd only been ill for a week and wasn't fully recovered yet. Even if he were healthy, it was her personal matter; she hadn't considered involving him. She didn't know how he'd sensed her actions tonight, but his feeling was right. She stood in the hallway. Almost half an hour had already passed. Even if she rushed over now, it would be too late.

"I'm not going," she said. "You can sleep in your own room."

He said nothing, but stared at her intently, as if trying to judge whether her words were credible.

"I really am not going." She emphasized, "You go back."

He held out his hand to her: "Give me the phone."

She was stunned, unsure of what he was going to do. But the phone had a password, so there was nothing to worry about. She carefully took out her phone and tentatively placed it in his palm.

He held her phone in one hand, then took out his own and handed it to her. She didn't understand why, so she took his phone subconsciously.

"I'll return it to you tomorrow morning." He put his cell phone in his trouser pocket and turned to walk towards his room.

Qin Tian was dumbfounded. She chased after him and grabbed his arm.

"Wait, why are you taking my phone? Give it back to me."

He looked down at her and said calmly, "It's getting late now, time to go to bed. Go back and take a shower and go to bed. I won't look at your phone. I'll return it to you tomorrow morning."

She was stunned. He didn't believe her, he didn't trust her at all. But...how could he have taken her phone? And he'd even given her his own. Didn't he mean I gave you mine, too? What could possibly happen at night? But she really had something important to do tonight. Even if she didn't go, she had to call Lao Yu and explain.

"Wait, wait," she said anxiously, not knowing what to say. "I really won't go. I promise. I swear. Give me your phone back. I want to make a call."

"Can,."

Qin Tian was on the verge of tears. Was this still the Tong Zhongyuan she knew? Wasn't he the most respectful? Wasn't he the most indifferent? Wasn't he the most distant? But after getting sick, how could he be a completely different person? She was completely helpless against him. When she was at her wit's end, she suddenly remembered what Tang Zhixu had said: You're not without a chance of success. Sweet talk, smooth hair.

She made up her mind, lowered her head and pulled his arm, begging, "Good brother, I beg you. Give me back my phone. I can't bear to see you sleep on the sofa. I really won't go, I promise."

After she finished speaking, she waited for a long time, but there was no movement. She quietly raised her head. Tong Zhongyuan was looking away from the side, so she couldn't see his expression, but his face was red from ear to ear. She quickly lowered her head again, vaguely feeling that if he discovered that she had seen him like this, she would probably not be able to get her phone back.

After a while, Tong Zhongyuan took out the mobile phone from his pocket and returned it to her.

"Remember what you promised me. You can't go anywhere except the hotel tonight."

She nodded hurriedly, holding the phone.

He then turned and left, the door lock jingling as he entered the room. Qin Tian breathed a sigh of relief and leaned against the wall. He finally got his phone back. How could it turn out like this? It was clearly her phone, but now it felt like he was doing her a favor.

She returned to her room and began dialing the landline, but no one answered. She kept calling until 10:30, calling over ten times, but still no one answered. She collapsed on her bed in frustration. Perhaps this was her only chance. If she didn't go tonight, she'd never see Lao Yu again. Tong Zhongyuan, how did he know? What had he guessed? She clutched her hair and fell to the side.

At that moment, she saw Qin Yunjie's diary and address book spread out on the desk. When Tong Zhongyuan came over that morning, she was waiting for Lao Yu's call, scribbling and reading the diary. She pulled out the scribbled paper. Her handwriting was on it: Broker? Tomb robber? Tomb raider? Lao Yu?

She closed her eyes in frustration and fell back onto the bed. Who could she blame?

Qin Tian woke at eight in the morning. She had thought about it carefully yesterday. Tong Zhongyuan probably guessed about 70% of it, but he didn't know why she was looking for Lao Yu. In his mind, she was a criminal, having brought back items from the British Museum. He would definitely be wary of her in the future. If she contacted Lao Yu later, it would be difficult for her to slip away from his sight.

She picked up the bronze coin, looked at it again and again, and went to his room.

Tong Zhongyuan woke up early in the morning and waited for Qin Tian to come find him. Although he wanted to go to her room to check if she was there from the moment he opened his eyes, fortunately, his rationality always won.

Qin Tian awkwardly asked him to go to the restaurant for breakfast together. After breakfast, she followed him to his room. He knew she had something to say, but he didn't start the conversation and waited for her to speak.

"Actually," she said carefully, "Yesterday wasn't what you thought. I wasn't looking for any hidden artifacts. I had something I wanted to confirm with him."

Tong Zhongyuan looked at her silently without saying anything.

Alas, he really is this person. When he doesn't talk, he makes people feel stressed, but when he talks, people are speechless. Qin Tian took out the bronze coin from his pocket and handed it to him.
