The next morning, Li Baolong arrived at the place at the agreed time. This was Mr. Lai's private club, which was like a second home to Mr. Lai.
As soon as Li Baolong entered, a private garden came into view, with a three-story building inside. At that moment, Wanru was already standing gracefully at the door to greet him. Mr. Lai pondered for a few seconds, then slowly said, "Young Master Li, I'll start with one billion Chinese yuan. If the returns are truly stable, I can add another two billion later."
Upon hearing this, Li Baolong nodded and said, "Thank you so much for your trust, Mr. Lai. It's settled then." Mr. Lai continued, "From now on, Wanru will be in charge of communication with you. Lan Hua and the others also invested 1 billion, and I'll do the same." Li Baolong thought to himself, "I see. These two probably discussed it a few days ago."
The three were chatting idly when the door opened and a beautiful woman entered. Wanru said with a smile, "Yingying, why are you only arriving now?"

Mr. Lai then spoke up, "Yingying is my goddaughter. Today, the three of us invite you to our home for a family dinner." Upon hearing this, Li Baolong quickly stood up and said gratefully, "Mr. Lai, you've gone to so much trouble. I'm truly grateful." Little did he know that this family dinner would later play such a significant role, helping Mr. Lai escape danger and regain his freedom in a life-or-death situation. But that's a story for another time.
The family dinner was a lively and enjoyable affair, with everyone having a great time. After the meal, Li Baolong got up to take his leave. Wanru then asked Yingying to see him off.
On the way, Yingying asked Li Baolong curiously, "Mr. Li, what kind of business do you run?" Li Baolong smiled and replied, "Yingying, I mainly deal in stock and futures investment and wealth management. I have business dealings with your mother. By the way, Yingying, what do you like to do in your spare time?" Yingying's eyes lit up and she said, "I like singing and dancing. I hope that one day I can go from nightclubs to big stages and sing and perform at large-scale galas." Li Baolong encouraged her, "That's great! I believe you can definitely succeed." They weren't far apart in age and chatted quite congenially. Soon, the car arrived at Baolong Real Estate, and Li Baolong got out. Before parting, Li Baolong and Yingying exchanged contact information.
Later, Li Baolong met with Xu Jianhua at the company. They talked about the previous donation of a warship, and Li Baolong said firmly, "I will continue to donate in the future." Xu Jianhua just smiled and shook his head. Suddenly, Li Baolong asked, "Is Quanzhou far from here?" Xu Jianhua replied, "Not far, only about 100 kilometers, a little over an hour's drive." A short while later, Li Baolong said goodbye and left the company, hailing a taxi on the roadside. He opened the door and asked, "Driver, do you go to Quanzhou?" The driver hesitated for a moment, then said, "Yes, I can, but the price is a bit high." Li Baolong said anxiously, "I have urgent business; a little extra money is fine." The driver thought for a moment and said, "Okay, three hundred yuan will get you there." Li Baolong quickly said, "Then hurry up and go; I'll lie down in the back for a bit."
Li Baolong dozed off in the taxi. It felt like only a short while before the driver said, "We're almost there. Where do you want to stop?" Remembering the information he'd received, Li Baolong replied, "Just go to Yangqing Town." The driver glanced at the road sign, drove another ten kilometers or so, and they arrived in Yangqing Town. Li Baolong paid the fare, got out of the car, and walked alone towards the supermarket by the roadside.
Inside the supermarket, Li Baolong bought a carton of cigarettes and two bottles of Coke. After paying, he asked the supermarket owner, "Boss, are there any fishponds around here, and the owner's surname is Lai?" The supermarket owner scratched his head and thought for a moment, then said, "Go three kilometers west, on the outskirts of town, there's a two-story building, and behind it is a fishpond. The owner's surname is Lai. They're quite wealthy; I heard one of their nephews made a fortune outside, built this building three years ago, and dug this fishpond." Li Baolong nodded quickly, handed the owner a bottle of Coke, and turned to leave.
