Chapter 18 Balancing Study and Life

In these seemingly ordinary days, Li Baolong lived a carefree and leisurely life. During this period, his cousin's wife found a job as a shampoo girl at a nearby hair salon. Her graceful figure and captivating beauty made her business quite prosperous, often keeping her home until late at night. Meanwhile, over the past year, his cousin's visits home had become increasingly infrequent; it was said he had partnered with a friend to run a karaoke bar. Li Baolong had been there once, and the scene left a deep impression on him: men and women embracing on the dance floor, swaying to the music, their singing and laughter mingling together in a chaotic and noisy atmosphere.

Li Baolong has been studying here for over two years, and he will graduate from his second year of high school at the end of this semester. Judging from his current academic level, getting into a regular university should be a piece of cake. Today, Li Baolong went to the bank and withdrew three hundred yuan for living expenses. This amount was sufficient for him, as his daily expenses were minimal, mainly rent and food. As he passed his cousin's wife's barbershop, a familiar melody drifted out – "Love Song 1990." "Your bright black eyes and your smiling face, how can I forget the changes in your appearance? The old days have slipped away so easily, and when I look back, several years have passed in a flash." The melodious song seemed to possess a magical power, stirring up certain thoughts deep within him.

"Baolong, you're here!" His cousin-in-law, Jiang Xiaomei, called out sweetly, her charming smile as radiant as a spring flower. "Did you go shopping today?" Jiang Xiaomei asked with a smile, swaying her slender waist as she walked towards the door. Li Baolong scratched his head, replying somewhat shyly, "Cousin-in-law, I was just passing by, so I thought I'd drop by."

Jiang Xiaomei warmly greeted him, "Come in quickly, Baolong! Your cousin-in-law will wash your hair for you and let you experience our skills." Li Baolong seemed a little embarrassed and quickly waved his hand to decline, saying, "Oh, no, that won't do. It would interfere with your business." However, Jiang Xiaomei didn't mind and chuckled, "Look at you, kid. It's broad daylight, and the shop isn't busy. There aren't many customers."

Li Baolong hesitated for a moment before finally stepping into the store. As soon as he entered, his gaze was drawn to two young, fashionable girls sitting on the sofa. They were dressed in revealing, sexy clothes, their lips painted with bright red lipstick. The slightly older girl had a cigarette dangling from her mouth and was leisurely flipping through a copy of "Story Collection."

Seeing this, Jiang Xiaomei quickly introduced him to the two girls, saying, "This is my cousin, I'm going to give him a hair wash." Without waiting for a reply, she grabbed Li Baolong and led him straight into the inner room. Although the room wasn't large, it was cleverly arranged. It was cleverly divided into three small cubicles, each containing a narrow bed. Clearly, these beds were for customers who could comfortably lie down and receive services such as hair washing and massage.

Upon entering this place, Li Baolong blushed slightly, appearing somewhat shy and awkward. His cousin-in-law, Jiang Xiaomei, smiled and teased him, "Let you experience it for yourself! What are you afraid of? Do you think I'm going to eat you? You're almost an eighteen-year-old young man now, don't act like a little kid!" Hearing this, Li Baolong had no choice but to lie down, forcing himself to do so.

At this moment, my cousin-in-law gently brought over a basin of lukewarm water and walked to the bedside. Her slender, jade-like hands, smooth and delicate as white jade, gently grasped Li Baolong's hair and carefully immersed it in the water. Then, she squeezed out some shampoo and evenly applied it to the roots of Li Baolong's hair, before slowly massaging it in. Her hands seemed to possess a magical power, kneading with just the right amount of pressure, each movement perfectly balanced, making him feel incredibly comfortable and relaxed. After several minutes, my cousin-in-law slowly rinsed the shampoo foam off Li Baolong's hair.

After rinsing him clean, his cousin-in-law didn't stop there. Instead, she continued to gently massage Li Baolong's head. Her fingers moved nimbly between various acupoints, with moderate pressure and a soothing rhythm, gradually immersing Li Baolong in this pleasurable experience. He felt his fatigue and tension slowly dissipating.

Just then, his cousin-in-law suddenly whispered to Li Baolong, "Come on, Xiaolong, turn over and lie face down. I'll give you a good back massage." Li Baolong obediently turned over and lay face down on the bed. His cousin-in-law's gentle hands landed on his back again, gently pressing from top to bottom and from left to right. Li Baolong's body swayed slightly, bringing an indescribable, wonderful sensation…

About twenty minutes later, his cousin-in-law asked softly, "Baolong, how are you feeling now? Do you need me to massage your back again?" Hearing this, Li Baolong hurriedly sat up in bed and waved his hands repeatedly, saying, "No need, cousin-in-law! Thank you so much, but I already feel very comfortable. Besides, you've been busy for so long, I really feel bad troubling you again." As he spoke, he quickly put on his shoes and stood up.

Then, with a smile, Li Baolong said to his cousin-in-law, "Cousin-in-law, it's getting late, I have to hurry home to cook. If you come back early today, I'll cook some delicious dishes for you to enjoy together!" After saying this, Li Baolong waved goodbye to his cousin-in-law and hurriedly left the barbershop, heading home. All the way home, he was still savoring the feeling of his cousin-in-law massaging him.
