Big Brother Long's face was contorted with grotesque features as he glared fiercely at Li Baolong, gritting his teeth as he said, "You little brat, you've been meddling in other people's business. Today I'm going to break one of your arms." With that, he charged forward like a vicious wolf.
Li Baolong was startled; his survival instinct ignited instantly. He turned and ran, sprinting towards the Modi River across the road. His heart pounded like a drum, the wind whistling in his ears, and the shouts and curses of his pursuers echoed behind him. He dared not stop; only one thought occupied his mind: run, don't let them catch you.
On the dimly lit street, Li Baolong's shadow flickered long and short under the streetlights, like a startled deer caught in a hunt. Li Baolong's legs moved like clockwork, his heart pounding in his chest as if it would burst out of his throat. As he ran, he cursed inwardly, "These scumbags, they're utterly lawless!" At the same time, a wave of regret washed over him. Why had he been so impulsive, rushing in to confront them? Now he had put himself in such a dangerous situation.
Various thoughts flashed through Li Baolong's mind. On the one hand, he was afraid of being caught and beaten. If those steel pipes fell on him, they would definitely tear his skin and flesh, and he might even have his hand broken, which could ruin his life. On the other hand, he was worried that if he ran away, Sister Honghong would be implicated, and those thugs would take their anger out on her.
Li Baolong's eyes scanned his surroundings rapidly, hoping to find a path to shake them off or a corner to hide in. "Don't panic, I have to find a way to escape. I still have so much to do, I can't just give up like this." He kept encouraging himself, sweat soaking his back, but he didn't even notice. At this moment, the will to survive consumed his entire being.
