Chapter 51 The Mind Riddles of Cats and Dogs

In a bustling corner of the metropolis, Li Baolong has been immersed in a strange and unique "training" these past few days, with his subjects being adorable kittens and puppies. He's as if he's discovered a new continent, and is pleasantly surprised to find that he can actually control these animals' brains with his mind, making them perform all sorts of endearing actions.

Look at that kitten. It had been lazily lying on the ground, but at Li Baolong's mental command, it slowly stood up, gracefully raising its little paws as if bowing to an unseen audience. Its supple body formed a unique arc in the sunlight. The puppy wasn't to be outdone; it ran joyfully to the designated spot, picked up a small ball with its mouth, and then hopped back to Li Baolong's side, its eyes full of liveliness and eagerness.

Watching the small animals skillfully complete their tasks, Li Baolong secretly pondered that, according to the records of that mysterious technique, he should now be at the second level of the beginner stage. Thinking of this, a smile unconsciously crept onto his lips, and a hint of anticipation and excitement flickered in his eyes. The next stage would be attempting to communicate and control humans through telepathy, undoubtedly a more challenging and unknown realm.

But who should be chosen as the first subject for the experiment? This question lingered in Li Baolong's mind, refusing to leave. Suddenly, a figure flashed through his thoughts like lightning—it was Honghong! Her voluptuous and alluring figure was like a beautiful painting, deeply imprinted in Li Baolong's mind.

Recalling his several intense encounters with Sister Honghong a few days ago, each one left him thrilled and unforgettable. They had gradually become familiar with each other, even developing a subtle tacit understanding. Thinking of this, Li Baolong couldn't help but smile, secretly plotting: When the opportunity arises, he'll definitely make Honghong wear that sexy lace outfit to serve him properly. Just thinking about it brought a wicked grin to his face, a smile full of anticipation and fantasy.

Li Baolong stood in the center of the living room, sunlight bathing him and highlighting his tall figure and mature features. The cats and dogs around him circled, seemingly curious about their master's next move. His thoughts, however, had already drifted to the special "interaction" about to unfold with Sister Honghong—a story of mind manipulation and emotional entanglement, which seemed to be quietly drawing its curtain...

The next day, at noon, Li Baolong went to Honghong's house. Upon entering, he saw Honghong busy cleaning. Li Baolong took a deep breath, concentrated, and tried to slowly extend the reach of his mind towards her. At first, he only felt a blur, as if through layers of fog. But he didn't give up and tried to reactivate his senses. Recalling the feeling of controlling small animals, gradually, Li Baolong seemed to touch the edge of Honghong's consciousness.

Li Baolong stared intently at Honghong's mind, carefully issuing a simple command: "Sister Honghong, come to the door." Li Baolong nervously watched Honghong, who was mopping the floor, his heart pounding. He saw Sister Honghong suddenly stop mopping, her eyes becoming somewhat dazed, and then, as if involuntarily, slowly walk towards the door.

Honghong's steps were slightly stiff, which I knew was because I wasn't skilled enough at controlling her. When she reached the door, I tried to get her to raise her hand again. Honghong slowly raised her hand, and I could see a hint of confusion and struggle on her face. Li Baolong felt a throbbing pain in his heart; the control time was up, and now he could only control a person's mind for a dozen seconds.

Li Baolong hurriedly stopped his mind control over Sister Honghong. Sister Honghong immediately regained her senses, her brows furrowed, her eyes full of confusion. She asked Li Baolong, "Baolong, what are you doing? Why did I feel like my body was out of control just now? It was very strange." Li Baolong was uneasy and stammered, then casually said, "Sister Honghong, you must be tired from working. Come and rest for a while." As he spoke, he pulled Sister Honghong to sit down facing him.

Immediately afterward, Li Baolong looked into Honghong's eyes and activated his telepathic abilities again, silently giving her the command: "Honghong, come here, hug me, and kiss me." Instantly, Honghong rose from the opposite side, slowly walked to Li Baolong, sat on his lap, wrapped her arms around him, and kissed him. A dozen seconds later, Honghong regained consciousness, her face blank and bewildered, muttering to herself, "What's wrong with me today? My behavior is so out of control, completely lacking my usual composure."

Honghong stared blankly for a few minutes before getting up and saying, "I'll go make a couple of simple dishes so we can have dinner together." Li Baolong agreed, "Okay, I'll help you wash the vegetables."

The meal was ready in no time, and the two sat down to eat and chat. Honghong said between bites, "I have to go to work at the dance hall tonight. You wait for me at home." Li Baolong replied, "I'd better go back and study." Honghong laughed, a hint of teasing in her eyes, "You're my boyfriend now, and you still don't want to move in with me?" Li Baolong immediately lowered his head shyly and fell silent.

A moment later, Honghong asked curiously, "How did your Taoist practice at Qingyang Palace go last time?" Li Baolong quickly replied, "I learned a lot, like how the Yin-Yang balance method can nourish health and improve complexion." Honghong became interested upon hearing this: "It can improve complexion? That's great! You must teach me properly in the future." Li Baolong quickly waved his hand: "I mainly learn Taoist practices to improve my health and reduce illness. I haven't figured out the beauty and complexion aspect yet."

To this day, Honghong remains unaware of Li Baolong's extraordinary encounter, nor is she aware of the existence of that magical space and the Heavenly Book. Li Baolong understands that this matter must never be revealed to outsiders; he can only keep it silently in his heart, a secret that only he can keep to himself.

After returning home, Li Baolong immediately went to his bedroom and began to meditate. He closed his eyes, focused his mind, and silently recited the mantra "Seven Times Seven," hoping to improve his abilities and spiritual level through this practice.

During this period, his life was regular and fulfilling. During the day, he went to the university to listen to lectures and absorb knowledge; at night, he devoted himself to studying Taoist practices and copying celestial books at home, immersing himself in that mysterious and profound world.

After weeks of continuous practice, he now possessed considerable skill, able to control any agile bird within a twenty-meter range at will. With just a slight thought, he could make the bird gracefully fly to his palm and perch obediently. Every weekend, he would always set aside two days to spend with Honghong. As Honghong's boyfriend, he felt it was his responsibility to accompany and care for her, and their feelings for each other deepened during their time together.

However, Li Baolong would occasionally choose Honghong as his experimental subject out of curiosity and a desire to explore the progress of his own Daoist cultivation. Reassuringly, with continuous experimentation and practice, the duration of his mental manipulation of Honghong gradually increased, now approaching thirty seconds. Each time he achieved such small progress, Li Baolong felt secretly delighted, and at the same time, he looked forward to continuing to refine his Daoist skills and exploring more unknown and wondrous realms. But he also constantly reminded himself not to lose his way due to excessive pursuit, lest he fall into a dangerous situation.
