Chapter 29 Catching a Thief! (1/2)

"Give me back my things!"

As Xiao He made his movements and voice, the crowd that had been gradually dispersing around them stopped again.

"What are you doing?" the woman in the black dress exclaimed, quite startled by Xiao He's actions. She twisted her wrist slightly, her voice filled with fear, "Are you trying to be a pervert?!"

Xiao He showed no mercy, firmly holding her wrist and opening his palm to her: "My phone. You stole my phone the moment you bumped into me—"

Hilarious! He wouldn't care if you're a woman or not. What if you let her escape or she hurts someone else?

"I don't know where your phone is!"

The woman in the black dress tremblingly raised her other hand, revealing her phone: "Look! I don't have a backpack, all I have on me is my phone! How could I possibly steal yours! Please let me go!"

Xiao He was taken aback for a moment, then began to carefully examine the woman from head to toe.

The woman indeed didn't carry a bag; her dress didn't even have pockets, so there seemed to be nowhere to hide anything.

But there was no doubt about it; among the people around him, he only sensed a kindred spirit in this person.

The absence of blood suggests that he hasn't killed anyone, which fits the situation he's looking for.

Xiao He didn't believe that the guy could run several miles away in the blink of an eye after just touching his phone.

This guy is the most suspicious.

"Help!"

While Xiao He was still in a daze, the woman was already asking others for help.

The people around looked at each other, unsure of what was going on.

Xiao He didn't offer much explanation, but instead asked the girls next to him, "Could you please call some of the police officers over there? I suspect this guy is a habitual thief."

The girls who had been gossiping next to Xiao He just moments before exchanged glances and decisively went to find the police.

Seeing that the young man was unmoved by reason and was convinced that he was the thief, the woman in the black dress finally became anxious. A razor blade slipped out from the cuff of her black silk sleeve, and she twisted her wrist, intending to cut Xiao He's hand to break free from his restraints.

However, Xiao He was more agile than him. After realizing his intention, he released his grip in advance and used his palm as a blade to strike the woman's wrist hard.

"ah--"

That spot was exactly where the person's nerve endings were located. The woman in the black dress felt as if her hand had been cut off, and she couldn't exert any strength at all. The blade in her palm also slipped out.

A sharp-eyed passerby spotted the razor blade and exclaimed, "She really is carrying a knife!"

Immediately, everyone retreated and called for the police in the distance.

Xiao He, being closer, heard the woman's muffled groan. His brows furrowed instantly, and he stared intently at the woman in the black dress: "Are you a man?"

Despite the noise around him, Xiao He was absolutely certain that he hadn't misheard; the woman had subconsciously made a man's voice just now.

"That damned little brat—"

The woman in the black dress, realizing her disguise had been exposed, gritted her teeth and glared fiercely at Xiao He: "You just wait!"

He then lifted his hat and threw it at Xiao He's face before turning and running away.

The large sun hat was actually attached to a wig, and when it was tossed around, it formed a huge blob, which did briefly obstruct Xiao He's vision. However, Xiao He was no longer in a hurry. Instead, he shouted to the crowd, "Grab him quickly—"

The woman in the black dress hadn't run far before she was caught red-handed by a plainclothes police officer who pounced out from the side.

Seeing this, many people who were unaware of the situation were stunned, but Xiao He breathed a sigh of relief.

No wonder he noticed several plainclothes police officers in the crowd earlier; they were anti-pickpocket plainclothes officers specifically tasked with catching this guy.

"Behave yourself!"

Officer Lü, who was in the lead, spoke sternly and decisively handcuffed the person, then made him stand up straight.

The woman in the black dress, still wearing a hairnet, stood listlessly in front of the police officers.

"It's Lao Lü."

Officer Zhang, who had been called over by the girls, went up to greet Xiao He and looked at him with surprise: "Xiao He, we meet again."

Xiao He: "...It's Officer Zhang and Officer Li."
