The sky was gradually darkening.
On a secluded street located outside the outer ring road of the suburbs, near the very edge of the city, a black Jeep is parked on the side of the road.
The young man, wearing a hat and a mask, got off the bus.
Looking around at his surroundings, Xiao He finally felt a little better.
Although this place is indeed somewhat remote, fortunately there are a large number of Chinese people here. Even in such a location, there is still a relatively complete commercial area. It is not as desolate as Xiao He imagined. In fact, during this mealtime and rush hour, people occasionally ride electric bikes by on the road.
From this perspective, it's really just an ordinary street in a small county town.
Xiao He breathed a sigh of relief.
He said that even though they live in the same city, there shouldn't be such a big difference.
Xiao He closed the car door, picked up the keys he had just received, and slowly walked towards the old residential building over there.
Meanwhile, on the other side, a person squatting on the opposite street, eating from an upper floor, suddenly put down their chopsticks.
"What's wrong?"
Another person eating walked over with a bowl and peered out the window.
"Brother, I think I just saw a suspicious guy go into that apartment building over there. Could it be that he has accomplices?" the young man said, his face serious. "He was wearing a hat and a mask, so I couldn't see his face at all."
"Oh? How did he get here?"
The older man leaned out to look.
“He drove here.” The young man pointed to a spot. “That’s his car.”
"Wow, nice car."
The man glanced at it, exclaimed in surprise, but then put down his chopsticks and bowl, seemingly lost in thought, "It is indeed a bit strange that such a nice car is here."
The young man said, "I heard from the traffic police that there have been people racing at night on the next street recently, and they've been keeping watch for several days now. Could this be the guy they're talking about?"
"It doesn't seem like it. This guy is driving an off-road jeep; he's obviously not here to race."
Older men are generally more experienced. They can tell a lot about these people just by glancing at them – what kind of cars they drive and what problems they have.
"First, ask for the license plate number to see who this guy is and whether he has a criminal record."
As the man spoke, he picked up his bowl and chopsticks and began to eat again. "Let's hold back for now and wait for the other one to come back. Be patient and eat."
"oh oh."
So the young man picked up his bowl and continued eating his dinner.

403?
As Xiao He muttered the address on the property certificate, he glanced up at the narrow, dark corridor of the residential building and rolled his eyes in annoyance: "Luckily it's not a 404 error, otherwise I would really suspect that the system is doing this on purpose."
He glanced down at the somewhat messy hallway, waved his hand at the spider webs hanging in the air, and then adjusted his mask.
Even through the mask, Xiao He could still smell a slightly musty, rotten odor in the air, which seemed to be mixed with a faint putrid smell.
The stench was like a mixture of dead rats and fermenting garbage, making one's stomach churn.
Xiao He waved his hand to dispel the smell, then inserted the key and slowly opened the door—
Perhaps because he had mentally prepared himself and lowered his expectations to the minimum, Xiao He found the room's furnishings complete and its decor a fresh and modern style that far surpassed the typical old residential building style.
