Chapter 105 His judgment of people is incredibly accurate.

Jiang Cheng tightened his grip on his phone.

It seems he wasn't mistaken that night; that man and Pei Xi... must be quite familiar with each other.

Otherwise, I wouldn't have spent the New Year with them.

A bitter feeling welled up in Jiang Cheng's heart. He took a deep breath and calmed his breathing.

He hesitated for a moment, then typed back, "Okay, be careful."

Pei Xi quickly sent a voice message: "Don't worry, I'm wearing several little turtles on me."

She quickly sent another message: "I'm not saying anything more, I'm going to start skating now. Don't worry, I have a coach to guide me."

This was the first time she had sent a voice message. Her voice was transmitted through an electronic device and sounded slightly different from usual.

Jiang Cheng listened to it twice, as if possessed.

Then he replied with a simple "Okay".

He waited a while, but Pei Xi did not reply this time.

She's probably already on the slopes.

Jiang Cheng turned off his phone, gripped it tightly, and sat on the edge of the bed in a daze for a while.

Then he looked around at the environment of his new place.

He didn't have time to tell Pei Xi that he had moved, that he had moved out of the alleyway in the urban village.

The apartment he's currently renting is in an old neighborhood that's twenty years old. The room is very small, only about thirty square meters.

The neighborhood isn't exactly great, given its age, but it's relatively safe, unlike the chaotic urban villages.

Finding this house was quick; it only took a morning.

The decision was made on the day Pei Xi went to see him.

Although renting a place added an extra expense, the rent for this old, run-down apartment wasn't expensive, and he could afford it.

But actually, he didn't want Pei Xi to come to him, because even though this place was better than the urban village, it wasn't exactly a good place to live, and he didn't want Pei Xi to come.

However, he couldn't explain why.

In short, it was rented.

The house had been uninhabited for a long time, and the furniture was covered in dust. Jiang Cheng took a rag and cleaned it little by little.

Then I started packing my luggage.

After tidying everything up, he thought for a moment and decided to go to the supermarket downstairs to buy a bag of frozen dumplings.

Today is Lunar New Year's Eve, so we still have to eat dumplings.

-

On the other side, Pei Xi had just learned a basic move when he hurriedly returned to the hotel.

Pei Zhi was smugly imitating someone else's cool moves when he ended up falling flat on his backside. He's always been unable to tolerate pain, and kept groaning in pain.

Several people helped him back to the hotel, where he saw a doctor who confirmed that his bones were fine, and they were finally relieved.

Pei Xi looked at him lying on the bed, feeling angry, distressed, and amused all at the same time.

"So this is what happens when you look down on us little turtles." She glanced at him. "Now you're not so cocky anymore, are you?"

Pei Zhi clutched his backside, on the verge of tears, "Pei Xi, I'm already like this, and you're still making sarcastic remarks!"

Pei Xi couldn't bear to provoke him any further, so she sat down by his bedside and asked gently, "Are your bones really alright?"

Pei Zhi snorted, "It's nothing."

"That's good." Pei Xi nodded.

Pei Zhi paused for a moment, then said with a wronged expression, "But my tailbone and knees are bruised."

Pei Xi was at a loss for words when she saw his expression.

She sighed, "Sit up, I'll get an ice pack to put on your knee."

Pei Zhi grunted an "hmm" in his throat. Although he still looked indignant, it was clear that he was quite pleased.

Then he obediently sat up.

Lu Langxuan watched from the side, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes behind his glasses.

He hadn't had much contact with Pei Zhi, but not a little either. His impression of Pei Zhi was that of the vice-captain of the school team, with a cheerful personality and a reliable character. He had never seen him like this before.

She acted like a spoiled, whiny child.

He found it hard to reconcile the Pei Zhi in front of him with the Pei Zhi who had retorted to him with a displeased expression and a cold face downstairs in the residential area that day.

Pei Xi picked up an ice pack and placed it on Pei Zhi's knee to apply a cold compress.

From childhood to adulthood, Pei Zhi often got injured during sports, and Pei Xi would often help him by rubbing his wounds and applying ice packs.

The ice pack landed on his knees, and Pei Zhi glanced at Lu Langxuan standing next to him.

Pei Xi noticed his gaze, turned to look at Lu Langxuan, and realized that she had almost forgotten about him because she was so busy coaxing Pei Zhi.

A hint of apology appeared on her face. "Brother Langxuan, you saw it yourself, he's fine. Don't worry, go back to your room and rest."

Lu Langxuan nodded, "Okay."

He added, "If you need any help, just call me anytime."

Pei Xi nodded, "Okay."

Lu Langxuan walked out of the room and thoughtfully closed the door behind him.

As soon as the door closed, Pei Zhi spoke in a deep voice above Pei Xi's head: "Pei Xi, let me tell you, don't get too close to Lu Langxuan."

"Hmm." Pei Xi answered without looking up, his hand still on the ice pack.

Pei Zhi was taken aback.

He thought Pei Xi would ask him why.

I didn't expect her to agree so readily.

"You didn't even ask why?" he asked, sounding surprised.

Pei Xi looked up at him. "I'm not that close to him to begin with. We only see each other a few times a year. It would be abnormal for me to get too close to him. Don't you think your reminder is unnecessary?"

Pei Zhi was taken aback, pursed his lips, and felt that what she said seemed to make a lot of sense.

All the reasons he had prepared were stuck in his throat.

To be honest, he was a little annoyed with Lu Langxuan, even though Lu Langxuan was actually a pretty good person.

This displeasure stemmed from what Lu Langxuan had said to him that night.

It wasn't because he felt Lu Langxuan had overstepped his bounds, but because he felt that Lu Langxuan's motives for saying those words were not pure.
