Chapter 115 He was praising her for being beautiful.

As the weather warms up, people wear lighter clothes, and the roadside trees and shrubs in the school, whose names are unknown, all turn green, their branches and leaves becoming more and more lush.

The second and third mock exams for senior high school students came one after another in a short time. By the time everyone realized it, there was less than a month left until the college entrance examination.

Pei Zhi's condition is very stable, and he continues to review and practice questions as usual every day.

The meals that Li Ma prepared each day became more and more lavish, and Pei Ruoyun instructed that Pei Zhi should be given a good boost of nutrition.

As is customary in previous years, No. 1 High School will hold a college entrance examination mobilization meeting in early May.

So on Monday morning, after the flag-raising ceremony, none of the students rushed back to their classrooms; they were all left on the playground.

In previous mobilization rallies, the top student in the grade would give a speech on behalf of the class, but because Jiang Cheng often took leave, no one knew if he would come.

Pei Xi didn't know either; she hadn't heard Jiang Cheng mention this matter.

She stood quietly in the line, listening to the principal's voice, which was tinged with static, coming through the microphone.

It was probably the same old stuff. The people below seemed to be standing neatly, but most of them were actually shrugging and grimacing with boredom.

After an unknown amount of time, following the principal's speech, the head of the teaching department's voice came through the static: "Next, please welcome student representative Jiang Cheng to the stage to speak."

Pei Xi suddenly raised his head.

On the platform, a person slowly walked up, wearing a blue and white school uniform that shone brightly in the sunlight.

He still doesn't like to zip up his jacket, leaving it open to reveal the pure white T-shirt underneath.

Many people raised their heads.

After a few hissing sounds from the electricity, Jiang Cheng lowered his head, looked at the manuscript in his hand, and began to speak.

His voice was calm, and his speech was neither fast nor slow. If you listened carefully, you could hear that it was all just a bunch of generic platitudes.

It looks like it was copied directly from somewhere.

But when he read it out, it had a strangely infectious quality.

He doesn't need to be eloquent or passionate; his voice may be cold, but it's very pleasing to the ear and inexplicably makes people want to believe him.

"It might be related to people," Pei Xi thought.

The words that come out of Jiang Cheng's mouth, no matter how far away they seem, make people feel that he will come true.

The speech was short, and Jiang Cheng finished reading it quickly. Then he looked up and said, "I wish everyone the best of luck in the college entrance examination. Thank you."

A round of applause erupted from the audience.

Jiang Cheng handed the microphone to the dean of students next to him, then folded up his manuscript and glanced at the audience before stepping off the stage.

Pei Xi's heart suddenly skipped a beat.

The stage was very high, and they weren't very close, but Pei Xi could clearly feel that his gaze was fixed on her.

With so many people in the crowd, and the playground full of people, he probably wouldn't be able to find her in a short time.

Sure enough, the next second, Pei Xi saw that Jiang Cheng quickly looked away.

Then the blue and white figure stepped off the stage and disappeared from her sight.

After a series of speeches and other lengthy procedures, the mobilization meeting finally ended. When Pei Xi returned to the classroom with her class, she felt like her calves were about to go numb from standing.

During lunch break, Pei Xi went to the office to deliver exam papers to the chemistry teacher. As he walked to the stairwell, a hand suddenly reached out from around the corner and blocked his way.

Between his well-defined fingers, he was holding a can of red Want Want milk.

Pei Xi simply reached out and took it.

The owner of the hand suddenly stepped out from around the corner. Jiang Cheng looked at her with a slight smile on his face.

"How did you know it was me? What if it was someone else?" he asked.

Pei Xi smiled, her tone tinged with confidence, "Do you think I can't even recognize your hands?"

Jiang Cheng paused, a slight smile playing on his lips.

"You saw me a long time ago?" Pei Xi asked.

Jiang Cheng nodded, "I originally wanted to go to your class, but I didn't expect to run into you."

Pei Xi smiled, holding the cool aluminum can in her palm, her tone unconsciously carrying a touch of coquettishness, "I thought you wouldn't come today either. I was a little surprised to see you on the stage this morning."

Jiang Cheng opened his mouth, about to speak, when Pei Xi blinked and asked, "By the way, when you looked over from the podium, were you looking for me?"

Jiang Cheng paused for a moment, then nodded. "To be precise, I've already seen you."

Pei Xi was taken aback. He had only looked at her for such a short moment, yet he had found her so quickly?

"Your eyesight is so good!" she said, somewhat surprised and impressed.

Jiang Cheng did not answer immediately.

This wasn't his first time speaking on stage.

As the top student in his grade for a long time, he has been given many opportunities to speak by the school, both big and small.

No one knew that every time he went on stage to speak, he would subconsciously search for Pei Xi's figure in the crowd.

Over time, it was as if he had developed an instinct, and he could always find her instantly.

Moreover, Pei Xi is so outstanding in appearance.

Jiang Cheng met Pei Xi's admiring gaze, but simply shook his head and said softly, "It depends on the person."

Pei Xi was taken aback at first, but after a couple of seconds she realized what he meant and felt inexplicably shy.

He was complimenting her on her beauty, saying she was so beautiful that you could spot her at a glance.

Pei Xi mentally spat at himself.

How could she imagine so much from just two words from Jiang Cheng? It was more intriguing than a bunch of sweet talk.

She didn't know whether it was Jiang Cheng's skill or her own.

Jiang Cheng noticed that she had suddenly fallen silent, her head bowed so his expression was unreadable, so he asked, "What are you thinking about?"

Pei Xi suddenly snapped out of her daze, blinked, and felt inexplicably guilty. "N-nothing."

Jiang Cheng didn't ask any more questions. He just lowered his eyes and quietly looked at her slightly reddened ear tips, and curled the corners of his lips.

"Oh, right, I was just about to tell you that starting today, I'll be staying at school the whole time and won't be taking any more leave," he suddenly said.

Pei Xi was taken aback. "Why?"

Jiang Cheng fixed his gaze on something, then said in a low voice, "Because after the college entrance examination, we will have very few opportunities to meet."

So we can't waste any more time.

Pei Xi was taken aback when she met his undisguised gaze.

She suddenly wanted to take back her previous thought.

Sweet talk and the like certainly seem to spark more imagination...

Under his gaze, she felt the tips of her ears getting hotter and hotter.
