Chapter 129 We need to treat her better, you know?

During dinner that evening, Pei Xi told Pei Zhi about how she had become Jiang Cheng's second party.

Pei Zhi spat out a mouthful of soda.

He pulled out a tissue to wipe his mouth, then coughed for a long time, clutching his chest. "Pei Xi, are you kidding me?!"

“I’m serious.” Pei Xi picked up a piece of shrimp ball in tomato sauce and put it in her bowl, then looked up at Pei Zhi. “The contract is already signed.”

It's supposed to be two years, she can't just sit around waiting, she has to do something.

She's in college now, she's an adult, and she lives so close to her boyfriend, but she can't do anything but watch.

Honestly, who could resist?

Jiang Cheng could hold back, but she couldn't.

She needs to take the initiative.

Pei Zhi frowned upon hearing this, "You're quite bold, daring to sign any kind of contract."

Pei Xi smiled, her mouth bulging from the shrimp balls, and she mumbled, "Because I know it's Jiang Cheng on the other side."

If it weren't for Jiang Cheng, she wouldn't dare to do it even if she had eight hundred lives.

"How did you know?" Pei Zhi asked.

Pei Xi said, "I knew about it when Jiang Shuyu first came to me. He sent me all the information about the studio."

To be honest, she was startled at first and couldn't believe that such a coincidence could happen.

She thought about it for a whole day.

Later she thought, this must be fate, there is a destiny in the dark.

So she readily agreed to Jiang Shuyu's offer.

Pei Zhi shook his head helplessly. He hadn't expected that Pei Xi would be the one to lose control first.

He couldn't help but feel curious, so he leaned closer and asked, "What did Jiang Cheng say?"

“He didn’t say anything.” Pei Xi recalled Jiang Cheng’s hesitant expression that afternoon and hummed in agreement. “He was probably confused.”

In fact, Pei Xi's guess was correct.

In the studio on the other side, Jiang Cheng was absent-minded all afternoon.

My fingers are on the keyboard, but I can't type a single symbol for ages; my mind is a complete mess.

He clearly agreed not to meet with Pei Xi.

But can anyone tell him what to do in this situation?

Jiang Shuyu suddenly leaned over, glanced at his computer screen, and stared at the line and a half of code on it. He was instantly shocked and pointed at the screen, saying, "Don't tell me you only wrote this much this afternoon?!"

Jiang Cheng: "...Hmm."

Ignoring Jiang Shuyu's shock, he stood up and said in a low voice, "I'm going out for a smoke."

Jiang Shuyu suddenly called out to him, as if she had remembered something, and asked him, "Have you added Pei Xi as a friend?"

Jiang Cheng paused for a moment, then nodded.

"It was added a long time ago."

Jiang Shuyu simply said "Oh," without suspecting anything, "It's fine as long as you add it."

After saying that, he recalled Jiang Cheng's lukewarm attitude that afternoon and looked at him with some concern, his tone carrying a hint of negotiation: "Jiang Cheng, I know you are usually quite cold to girls, and you wish you could avoid them, but Pei Xi is different."

He paused for a moment, then said, "We need to be nicer to her, you know?"

Jiang Cheng paused for a moment, then replied, "Yes, I know."

Seeing that he showed no reluctance, Jiang Shuyu was instantly relieved.

To be honest, given Jiang Cheng's personality, he was quite afraid that he would be too cold to girls and scare them away.

After all, this was an artist he had worked hard to sign.

Jiang Shuyu beckoned to him, "Then come over here and help me take a look. Which kind of table and chair should I buy?"

Jiang Cheng shook his head and said without hesitation, "Just buy the expensive one."

Jiang Shuyu: "?"

After saying that, he glanced at the wall again, "By the way, Brother Jiang, the air conditioner is old too, let's take this opportunity to replace it."

Jiang Shuyu: "??"

Under his questioning gaze, Jiang Cheng looked away and said, "...Change to something more expensive too."

Jiang Shuyu: "???"

He blinked several times behind his glasses.

I've never seen Jiang Cheng listen to me much before.

How come he actually listened to his advice to treat Pei Xi better?

Jiang Shuyu hesitated for a while, then nodded and gritted his teeth, saying, "Okay, change them, change them all to the expensive ones, the expensive ones are better."

Jiang Cheng hummed in agreement.

Just as he was about to walk outside, he heard Jiang Shuyu sigh, "However, I was originally planning to take advantage of Pei Xi's visit to go out for a nice meal together, but I didn't expect that he had already made plans with someone else."

"Judging from her tone, I guess it's her boyfriend."

Jiang Cheng paused in his steps.

After a moment of silence, he said in a low voice, "It shouldn't be."

"How did you know?" Jiang Shuyu frowned as she looked at him.

"...I guessed."

"Even if it isn't, it'll happen soon. A girl this pretty will definitely have no shortage of suitors." Jiang Shuyu shook his head, looking like he couldn't bear to look. "Those hot-blooded young men in school are all like hungry wolves."

Jiang Cheng stood there, gripping the lighter tightly in his hand, and remained silent for a moment.

With a ding-dong sound, a message popped up on the phone on the table.

Jiang Shuyu opened it; it was a message from Pei Xi in the three-person group chat.

She asked, "Brother Jiang, shouldn't I have a key to the studio?"

Jiang Shuyu exclaimed "Ah!" and slapped his forehead, realizing that he had forgotten about this.

He looked up at Jiang Cheng and said, "Pei Xi asked me for the key. I'm going to pick up my girlfriend from get off work soon. In a bit, take your front door key to that old man at the intersection and get a new one made for Pei Xi."

Jiang Cheng nodded. "Okay."

Jiang Shuyu replied in the group chat with her head down: "I'll have Jiang Cheng make one in a bit. If you have time, just come and pick it up."

Pei Xi quickly replied, "Okay."
