Chapter 135 Such Intimacy

Seeing Jiang Cheng remain silent, Pei Xi frowned and asked again, "Is it alright?"

“...No.” Jiang Cheng shook his head decisively.

"Why?" Pei Xi asked persistently.

“Because…” Jiang Cheng paused, knowing he couldn’t reason with a drunkard, so he shook his head decisively, “There is no reason.”

She thought Pei Xi would persist in asking, but to her surprise, Pei Xi smiled after hearing her question.

"I know you're just shy." A sly glint flashed in her drunken eyes, and she whispered, "Then I'll ask you again when we're alone."

Jiang Cheng: "".

Pei Zhi: "..."

Pei Zhishen let out a deep breath, finally unable to contain himself any longer, and suddenly shouted into his phone, "What kind of junk car is this? Why isn't it here yet!"

Pei Xi was startled by his sudden loud voice and flinched, instinctively hugging Jiang Cheng tighter.

Jiang Cheng immediately frowned and looked at Pei Zhi, "You scared her."

Pei Zhi: "..." To be honest, he really couldn't take it anymore.

They haven't even started talking about it yet. If they do start talking about it, will anyone care whether he lives or dies?

Fortunately, the car arrived quickly. Pei Xi was holding Jiang Cheng's arm so tightly that they couldn't be separated, so the two of them sat together in the back seat.

Pei Zhi went to the passenger seat.

The place wasn't far from Kyoto University, only about a ten-minute drive away. The car drove into the alley and stopped not far from the studio entrance, where the group got out together.

Jiang Cheng took out his key and opened the door. The studio was pitch black and empty; Jiang Shuyu had already left.

He went inside and pressed the switch on the wall. Pei Zhi followed him in and looked around curiously.

This was his first time here. The environment was decent, not as bad as he had imagined.

Jiang Cheng turned to Pei Zhi and said, "Sit on the sofa for a while. I'll go get some hot water for Pei Xi."

"Um."

Pei Zhi sat down on the sofa without any hesitation. Jiang Cheng picked up the cup from Pei Xi's table, washed it for her, and then went to get the kettle and poured in hot water.

Throughout the entire process, Pei Xi followed him around like a shadow, running back and forth behind him.

Although both she and Pei Zhi have low alcohol tolerance, their reactions to being drunk seem to be different. Pei Zhi likes to sleep soundly, while she is full of energy and talks a lot.

Pei Zhi sat on the sofa, arms crossed, watching Pei Xi walk around like a chick following its mother hen, and the more he watched, the angrier he became.

Jiang Cheng poured the water, but instead of handing it to Pei Xi immediately, he blew on it before putting it to his lips.

Pei Xi stood obediently beside him, occasionally glancing at Pei Zhi on the sofa before quickly looking away.

She tugged at Jiang Cheng's sleeve, looking like a child who had done something wrong, her face full of grievance and wrinkles, and asked, "Why did my brother come too? I didn't tell him."

Jiang Chengjing paused for a moment.

Then, as if suddenly remembering something, Pei Xi quietly leaned close to his ear, lowered her voice, and asked with a serious expression, "Do you know which bastard called him here?"

Jiang Cheng: "......"

"I don't know." He looked away, lying to the child without batting an eye.

"Did he come here by himself?" Pei Xi looked utterly incredulous, as if he had seen a ghost. "How did he know? That's terrifying."

Pei Zhi on the sofa: "..."

There were only three people in the whole room, how could he possibly hear anything?

Jiang Cheng was somewhat amused and exasperated. He glanced at Pei Zhi's expression, his smile widening. He handed Pei Xi a glass of water at a comfortable temperature, then supported her back and gently pushed her to the sofa.

He bent down, looked into her eyes, and whispered, "I'll go buy you some milk. You sit quietly on the sofa and drink your water, okay?"

He added, "Be obedient."

“Okay.” Pei Xi nodded, holding the cup, and obediently sat down on the sofa.

Before sitting down, she glanced at Pei Zhi, then quickly looked away, as if feeling guilty, and sat on the other side of the sofa, wishing she could be separated from him by a galaxy.

Pei Zhi took a deep breath without saying a word.

Seeing that Pei Xi had calmed down, Jiang Cheng walked to Pei Zhi's side and whispered, "You watch over Pei Xi. I'm going out for a bit to go to the supermarket to buy some things."

Pei Zhi nodded. "Mm."

Jiang Cheng took the key, opened the door, and went out.

It was already quite late, and many convenience stores nearby had already closed. Jiang Cheng walked along the road for about ten minutes before finding a 24-hour convenience store.

He went inside and bought two new sets of toiletries, including a toothbrush and a towel.

Then I took two cans of Want Want milk and some snacks that Pei Xi likes.

Although he knew that with Pei Zhi there, there would be no problem, Jiang Cheng was still inexplicably a little uneasy. He carried the things he had bought and walked back quickly.

Upon opening the door and seeing the scene before him, Jiang Cheng's hand holding the key suddenly paused.

Pei Xi was leaning on the armrest of the sofa, his face resting on his arm, his breathing even and long.

Pei Zhihou leaned back on the sofa, tilted his head, and closed his eyes tightly.

Both of them slept soundly, one more soundly than the other.

Jiang Cheng: "......"

He thought quietly for several seconds, and finally decided to give up on waking the person up.

He gently closed the door, went inside, and placed the things he was carrying on the coffee table.

Then he walked to Pei Xi's side, bent down, put one arm under her neck and the other under her knees, and with a little effort from his waist and abdomen, lifted her up horizontally.

Pei Xi did not wake up; her head rested against his chest due to gravity.

It's very heavy to hold someone when they're asleep because you can't get any support from the person you're holding, but Jiang Cheng seemed to hold them very easily and steadily.
