After the next few contestants finished their performances, they watched an extremely long flashback video. After the lengthy segment, the moment to announce the rankings finally arrived.
Pei Xi sat in the audience, nervously clenching his hands.
The rankings were announced sequentially from back to front, up to the top three, but Shen Miaoyi and Sun Yufei were not announced yet.
Pei Xi's palms were sweating during the long process.
Looking up, she saw Sun Yufei standing on the stage watching her, raising an eyebrow at her with an air of confidence.
Pei Xi suddenly smiled.
Then the host announced the third place.
He is a boy who sings folk songs while holding a guitar.
Then the host invited Hongdou Yuyuan and another girl who was very good at singing and dancing to the center of the stage.
That means the champion will be one of them.
The entire audience froze during the five-second countdown, and in the final second, the big screen displayed the final vote count for both sides.
"Congratulations to the Red Bean and Taro Ball team for winning the championship!!"
Before the host could finish the announcement, the studio erupted in an uproar as all the fans, including Pei Xi, stood up excitedly.
"Ahhhhh!! Miaomiao!! Yufei!!!" She jumped up and down in her seat, waving at them, her face flushed with excitement.
Shen Miaoyi was probably a little stunned, unable to believe her eyes and ears. After several seconds, she came to her senses and found that Sun Yufei had already hugged her tightly.
"Shen Miaoyi, you're awesome!! I, Sun Yufei, am awesome too!! We're both really awesome!!" Sun Yufei laughed loudly, shaking Shen Miaoyi frantically. As she laughed, tears welled up in her eyes.
Shen Miaoyi looked for Pei Xi with her eyes, her bright eyes crinkling as she waved at her.
Sun Yufei also looked over, and then the two of them waved to Pei Xi together.
The audience members couldn't go on stage; they just gazed at the crowd through the bustling, enthusiastic people and the colorful ribbons fluttering in the air.
Pei Xi's eyes also welled up with tears.
She was once admired and despised, but she never doubted herself for a moment. Instead, she was as proud as a black swan, saying that she would definitely stand in the center of the stage again, and now she has really done it.
The girl who once timidly wanted to hide herself in the crowd, lacked self-confidence, and would blush even when praised, is now standing in the spotlight, receiving countless compliments and affirmations from all over the world.
This was the second time in Pei Xi's life that he had felt the power of time and courage so deeply.
The last time was when I saw the little boy who used to be covered in wounds grow into a tall, handsome man who has built a bright future with his own hands.
Humans are truly a wondrous existence.
Courage and resilience probably make people capable of anything.
Suddenly, a click sounded beside her. Pei Xi looked down and saw Pei Zhi holding his phone, looking up at her with a smile. "I remembered to take a picture this time."
Pei Xi chuckled, her eyes still wet with tears.
After a brief summary, the program finally came to an end.
Pei Xi only met Shen Miaoyi and Sun Yufei briefly before they were called away to give various interviews.
I reckon this night will be very busy.
Pei Xi couldn't stay with them, so she left the studio with Pei Zhijiang and Cheng, flowing out with the crowd.
The live broadcast lasted for several hours, and it's already past midnight, so there's no way I can get back to my dorm.
Jiang Cheng suddenly looked at the two of them and suggested, "Let's sleep at my place."
Pei Xi was taken aback, then nodded in agreement.
Jiang Cheng's house has an extra bedroom, so it's no problem for him to take her and Pei Zhi in.
So the three of them took a taxi to Jiang's rented house.
Upon entering, Pei Zhi looked around and gave his approval to the environment.
“It’s much better than sleeping in the studio,” he said.
He was too embarrassed to say that he slept on the sofa in the studio one night and almost couldn't move his back anymore.
Pei Zhi then subconsciously looked at the sofa in the living room.
It looks wide and long; it must be more comfortable to sleep on than the small sofa in the studio.
Pei Zhi immediately turned to look at Jiang Cheng, and said with great understanding and generosity, "I can sleep on the sofa, I don't need to sleep in the bed."
Fearing that Jiang Cheng would insist on giving him the bed, he added, "I'm not used to sleeping in other people's beds."
Jiang Cheng frowned and gave him a puzzled look.
Then he said calmly, "That was the original plan."
Pei Zhi: "..."
Pei Xi chuckled.
“Pei Xi and I will each have a bedroom, you can sleep on the sofa,” Jiang Cheng said again.
Pei Zhi: "..."
Jiang Cheng ignored him and turned to Pei Xi, saying, "There are bedding in the other bedroom; they're new and clean."
Pei Xi was somewhat surprised. She had thought that Jiang Cheng was just joking when he said that having an extra bedroom would make it easier for her and Pei Zhi to stay.
She was already prepared to make do for one night.
To my surprise, he actually prepared bedding.
Then Jiang Cheng went into the room, took out a thin blanket, and handed it to Pei Zhi, saying, "There are no extra blankets, so you'll have to make do with this."
Pei Zhi took it, raised an eyebrow and said, "Don't worry, I'm in perfect health."
Jiang Cheng neither agreed nor disagreed.
After washing up, it was already quite late. Jiang Cheng turned off the living room lights, and the three of them went back to their respective rooms to sleep.
Pei Xi lay in bed, tossing and turning for a long time, unable to fall asleep.
She took out her phone and sent a message to Jiang Cheng, who was sitting on the other side of the wall.
Are you asleep?
"No," Jiang Cheng replied quickly, then asked, "Can't sleep?"
