Chapter 163 Sweet to the Core

The cars in front were completely stuck, so Pei Xi continued to cup Jiang Cheng's face and said, "Then it's settled, okay?"

"Tell me if you feel unwell next time."

After saying that, she suddenly remembered something and coughed awkwardly, "Well, but... I'll try my best to make sure it doesn't happen again."

Jiang Cheng smiled at her cuteness. He reached out and held her wrist, unconsciously rubbing his face against her palm, and whispered, "It's okay, you don't need to be careful."

"Hmm?" Pei Xi raised an eyebrow.

Jiang Cheng seemed to think about it seriously for a moment, "As long as you comfort me when I'm not feeling well... that's enough."

Pei Xi was taken aback, then a sly glint flashed in his eyes.

"How do I coax him?" she asked.

Jiang Cheng looked at her, his eyes seemingly filled with a myriad of meanings, but he remained silent.

There was a moment of silence in the car, then Pei Xi suddenly leaned in and kissed him on the lips. "Like this?"

A smile appeared in Jiang Cheng's eyes, and a slight curve appeared at the corner of his lips, but he still didn't say anything.

He was so handsome, with sharp, even aggressive, features, yet he was now obediently held in her palm, as if she could take whatever she wanted.

Pei Xi suddenly remembered what Zhuang Tiantian had told her: men are very good at seducing people unintentionally.

She wholeheartedly agreed.

Jiang Cheng didn't say anything, but she still felt like he was seducing her.

So she turned his face around, gave him a quick kiss, and asked, "Like this?"

Jiang Cheng's smile deepened, but he remained silent.

Pei Xi turned his face to the other side and bit him again, "Like this, like this?"

The two looked at each other, and then suddenly burst into laughter.

Jiang Cheng finally gave a low "hmm".

Pei Xi hummed in agreement and said softly, "My boyfriend is very easy to please."

"Who's easier to coax, me or Pei Zhi?" Jiang Cheng suddenly asked.

Pei Xi was taken aback. Did this thing also need to be compared to determine which was better?

She pondered for a long time, thought it over carefully, and then gave a very apt answer: "They're about the same."

Pei Zhi may seem to have a bad temper, but in reality, it only takes a few words to coax him. He's like a donkey that's easily stroked; a few strokes and everything's fine.

Her boyfriend didn't even need to say a few nice words; a few kisses were enough.

In short, they were all easier to appease than the other.

Pei Xi couldn't help but wonder when it would be their turn to coax her.

But then I thought about it again, and it seems... there's not much of a chance.

Because she had no idea what the two of them would do to make her angry.

If that day ever comes, she'll probably be more surprised than angry.

Just then, the car in front started moving again and began to move slowly forward.

Jiang Cheng restarted the car, and after driving at a snail's pace for several hundred meters, the road finally became clear.

In just a few minutes, we arrived at Kyoto University.

Private cars can drive onto the small road downstairs from the dormitory building. Jiang Cheng stepped on the brakes at the nearest point and stopped the car.

Pei Xi unbuckled her seatbelt, and with a whoosh, the seatbelt snapped back into place, but she didn't rush to open the door and get out of the car.

She winked at Jiang Cheng and said to him, "You seem to have forgotten something."

Jiang Cheng nodded, "I was just about to give it to you."

Pei Xi smiled shyly. She sat quietly in her seat, and just as she was about to close her eyes, she realized that Jiang Cheng hadn't come over at all.

Pei Xi: "..."

She coughed slightly, feeling a little awkward, and then saw Jiang Cheng reach into his pocket, pull something out, and say to her, "Baby, reach out."

Pei Xi obediently offered both hands.

Then, my palm sank, and a small red jar fell into it.

Pei Xi was stunned when he saw the little figure with wide eyes staring at him.

The cool touch of the aluminum can in my palm suddenly felt so familiar.

She felt as if she had suddenly returned to that dilapidated bungalow in the urban village, where the air still carried the unique dampness and chill of the rain.

She stood under the eaves, carrying the beef bone soup that Li Ma had cooked, looking at his windbreaker jacket, which was stained with mud and water from protecting her.

The weather was similar to now, a little cold. He took out a milk from the pocket of his down jacket and handed it to her.

At that time, he said, "Pei Xi, reach out your hand."

She didn't know when he bought that can of milk, only that it was still warm when it landed in her hands.

That day was the first time she received Want Want milk from him.

That same day, dust got into her eyes. He bent down and blew it into her eyes. Her face flushed, and with her heart pounding in her chest, she fled in panic.

Then she realized she liked him.

Her heartbeat told her the answer.

Pei Xi gently stroked the can, a hint of reminiscence in her eyes, and looked up at Jiang Cheng, asking, "By the way, I don't know if you remember, a long time ago... did you receive a can of coffee?"

Jiang Cheng paused, then nodded and said softly, "Yes, caramel latte."

Pei Xi opened her eyes in surprise, "How do you remember so clearly?"

Jiang Cheng raised an eyebrow. "Because I'm smarter."

Pei Xi hummed in agreement, "Then guess who sent it?"

Jiang Cheng remained silent.

He just stared at her intently.

Pei Xi was taken aback, because there was no surprise in his eyes.

"You knew all along..."

"Did you like me back then?" Jiang Cheng suddenly spoke, rarely using such a teasing tone when talking to her. "You even gave your milk to Pei Zhi so you could bring me coffee."

Pei Xi was completely stunned.

After a couple of seconds of silence, she blushed and pretended to tickle him, scoldingly, "Oh, you! You were pretending to be asleep!!"

Jiang Cheng didn't flinch, letting her wriggle around his waist. He laughed heartily, a big, cheerful laugh that revealed his clean, white teeth.
