Chapter 176 Wait for me to come back

When Pei Xi woke up in bed the next day, he suddenly realized something.

I forgot to put yesterday's cake in the refrigerator.

It started so suddenly last night, and then it all happened so naturally that she completely forgot about it.

She glanced at the time; it wasn't even seven o'clock yet. Jiang Cheng was still asleep, his arm draped over her waist, its weight undeniable, heavy and warm.

She glanced at Jiang Cheng's sleeping face, gently grasped his arm, and carefully moved down from her waist.

As the weight settled on her waist, Pei Xi was about to throw off the covers and get out of bed when a force suddenly pulled her back, her back slamming against hot, hard muscles.

"Where to..."

Jiang Cheng's sleepy voice came through.

"Get up, you have class today." Pei Xi turned to look at him and touched his face. "If you don't have to go to the company early, you can sleep a little longer."

Jiang Cheng opened his sleepy eyelids; his inner double eyelids had turned into outer double eyelids after sleeping, making him look less sharp and more obedient.

He sat up, threw back the covers and pretended to get out of bed. "Then go wash up first, I'll make you breakfast."

Pei Xi stopped him, "No need, you sleep a little longer, I'll just buy some outside..."

Jiang Cheng looked at her and chuckled softly, then shook his head. "It's nothing, I've had a good sleep."

Pei Xi was taken aback, and blurted out, "You've only slept for a few hours, and you were like that yesterday..."

Then she suddenly stopped talking.

Jiang Cheng raised an eyebrow meaningfully, his smile deepening as he looked at her and asked, "What about me yesterday...?"

Pei Xi pursed her lips and looked away, saying softly, "You were quite tired yesterday, I want you to rest more."

“Baby, I’m not tired.” Jiang Cheng shook his head sincerely.

The smile in his eyes was almost overflowing.

Pei Xi: "".

He added, "Yesterday you were tired of talking, so I..."

Pei Xi suddenly stood up and walked out of the bedroom without looking at him, her voice coming from behind her: "Okay, okay, I know, I'm going to wash up."

A low laugh came from inside the room.

As Pei Xi walked, she thought to herself that her physical strength was far inferior to his, and she should exercise more in the future.

She's always the one who can't beg for mercy.

Footsteps followed behind him. Pei Xi walked into the living room, glanced at the coffee table, and found that it was completely empty.

She stopped abruptly.

Looking at the clean table, she turned around and asked the person who had followed her, "Where's the cake?"

Jiang Cheng said "Oh," and replied, "It's in the refrigerator."

Pei Xi was taken aback, "When did you...?"

“After you fell asleep yesterday,” Jiang Cheng said, “we can’t waste food.”

Pei Xi opened his eyes in surprise.

I never expected that he would still remember this under those circumstances.

Thinking about how he fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow last night, Pei Xi felt a little embarrassed.

Jiang Cheng reached out and tidied her slightly messy hair, then said, "Besides, this is a cake made by the baby herself, so it shouldn't be wasted."

Pei Xi blinked, a surge of warmth welling up inside her, and then she smiled and said, "My boyfriend is so thoughtful, I must praise him."

Jiang Cheng smiled as well, raising an eyebrow as he asked, "Just verbal praise?"

Then he asked, "Don't you want me to pat your head?"

Pei Xi: "?"

Her eyelashes fluttered as she subtly looked him up and down.

Meeting her gaze, Jiang Cheng spoke first, with a hint of a sigh: "Don't worry, I've sobered up."

Pei Xi's scrutinizing gaze stopped. Somewhat surprised that he could guess what she was thinking, she tentatively asked, "Do you remember what you looked like yesterday...?"

Jiang Cheng nodded.

“I don’t black out after drinking,” he chuckled.

Pei Xi: "".

She didn't understand who this was implying.

Seeing Pei Xi's expression, Jiang Cheng was completely charmed and decided to stop teasing her. He reached out and patted her head, saying, "I'll go make you some food."

"good."

Pei Xi finished washing up, and Jiang Cheng had also prepared breakfast: sandwiches with very generous fillings and excellent presentation.

Jiang Cheng didn't make anything for himself. While Pei Xi was eating, he went to wash up, then took out a cake from the refrigerator, ate a large piece, and made do with breakfast.

Then Jiang Cheng took her to school.

When they arrived at the dormitory building, Jiang Cheng suddenly remembered something and said to her, "By the way, I have to go on a business trip in a couple of days."

Pei Xi was taken aback, and subconsciously frowned. "How many days are you going to be gone?"

"About four or five days," Jiang Cheng said.

Upon hearing this, Pei Xi unbuckled her seatbelt and instinctively reached out to ask him for a hug.

Jiang Cheng hugged her.

"It's been a long time," Pei Xi mumbled in his ear.

Her emotions were completely undisguised, and the change was quite obvious.

This meant she wouldn't be able to see him for several days.

Jiang Cheng cupped her head in his large hand, his feelings suddenly becoming somewhat complicated.

He could hear the disappointment in Pei Xi's tone.

Pei Xi was disappointed at not being able to see him, but he was secretly pleased.

But he couldn't bear to see Pei Xi sad.

So he ruffled Pei Xi's hair and whispered in her ear in a very soft and gentle voice, "It'll only be four or five days. I'll fly back immediately after I finish my work, without wasting a minute."

Pei Xi hummed in agreement.

Jiang Cheng added, "While I'm gone for a few days, let Pei Zhi accompany you shopping. Your boyfriend will pay."

Upon hearing this, Pei Xi suddenly burst into laughter.

She lifted her head from his neck to look at him, cupped his face in her hands, and said, "My boyfriend is very rich and powerful."

Jiang Cheng looked at the smile on her face, breathed a sigh of relief, and smiled without saying anything.

He said what's his is hers.

It's perfectly natural for her to spend his money.

After a two-second pause, he turned his head and kissed her palm, his voice tender and gentle: "Baby, be good, wait for me to come back."
