Chapter 18 Shi Chen, don't tell my brother!

Pei Xi dodged the crowds and went upstairs. As he walked along the railing in the corridor, he subconsciously looked downstairs.

On the ground, countless students wearing the same blue school uniforms formed a crowd, slowly surging into the building like a tide.

Among everyone, one person's figure stood out, and Pei Xi spotted him at a glance.

His face remained consistently indifferent, his school uniform was open, revealing a plain black T-shirt underneath.

With one hand in his pocket, he walked lazily and casually, following the crowd step by step toward her.

His backpack was the same big black crossbody bag he had carried on the court last time. It was loosely slung across his broad, straight back. It was an ordinary bag, without even a brand logo, yet it had an unexpectedly unrestrained and handsome look.

Pei Xi realized for the first time that school uniforms and bags like this actually looked pretty good together.

There are many people carrying crossbody bags at school, including many designer brands, but Pei Xi had never thought that such a combination looked particularly good before.

It's probably due to human factors.

Jiang Cheng was tall and had a long stride. In the short moment he was lost in thought, he had already walked into the teaching building.

As he watched his figure disappear, Pei Xi snapped out of his daze and quickly walked toward Pei Zhi's classroom.

There were windows on both sides of the classroom. Pei Xi looked out from the window by the corridor and saw that Pei Zhi's seat was empty.

The classroom was crowded with people, and Pei Xi looked around carefully but couldn't find Pei Zhi.

She planned to sneak in and put the rice ball on Pei Zhi's seat, but as she turned around, she bumped into someone walking towards her, and her nose almost hit him.

Before Pei Xi could even raise his hand to cover his nose, both of his arms were supported, and when he looked up, he saw a pair of familiar peach blossom eyes.

"Brother Shi Chen?" she asked, somewhat surprised.

"Are you alright?" Shi Chen asked with concern.

Seeing Pei Xi shake his head, he released his hand, raised his eyebrows, and asked, "Are you here to see Pei Zhi?"

Pei Xi nodded. "Yes, where is he?"

"I went to the toilet."

Pei Xi said "Oh," and handed the rice ball to Shi Chen, "Then can you give him his breakfast for me? He forgot to take it."

"Not for me?" Shi Chen took it, his eyes narrowing with a smile.

Pei Xi smiled, a sly glint in her sweet almond-shaped eyes. "If you don't mind, you can eliminate them before Pei Zhi returns."

She added, "Anyway, he's already eaten bread at home."

Pei Zhi insisted on buying the rice ball because he saw she wanted to eat it when we passed by the convenience store earlier.

"I think it's a good idea." Shi Chen's smile deepened, and he nodded seriously.

To be honest, he hadn't eaten breakfast and was already a bit hungry.

After saying that, he directly opened the rice ball's packaging and took a big bite.

The two stood by the fence, unaware that a tall figure walked past them from behind.

His deep gaze fell on Pei Xi, then vanished in an instant.

Jiang Cheng walked into the classroom, pulled out a chair heavily, and sat down.

His seat was next to the window in the corridor, and from this position, he could see Pei Xi and Shi Chen standing in the corridor as soon as he looked up.

Jiang Cheng lowered his gaze, took out a test paper from his bag, and realized he hadn't had time to do his weekend homework yet.

For him, there was no need to write these things down; he usually just wrote a few lines to get by.

The tiny print on the exam paper kept crowding into my brain, but I couldn't calm down and think. After looking at it for a long time, I couldn't even put pen to paper for the first, simplest question.

The sound of their laughter and conversation reached his ears clearly through the window.

"Brother Shi Chen, I'm going back now. Don't tell my brother, just pretend I wasn't here."

Pei Xi's voice carried a hint of slyness and a touch of ingratiation; he could even imagine the smile playing in her amber eyes.

Jiang Cheng gripped the pen tightly, the tip leaving deep marks on the paper, almost piercing through the back of the paper.

He kept his head down, desperately trying to stop himself from looking up.

Only after hearing Shi Chen say goodbye did she look up.

Pei Xi walked quickly, his gaze sweeping over the mingling crowd, catching only a glimpse of her back before she disappeared around the corner.

When I looked away, the exam paper was already covered in black ink blots from the pen tip.

Jiang Cheng's eyes darkened, and he slammed down his pen.

Then he crumpled the test paper into a ball and threw it into the table.
