Pei Xi sometimes wonders why she is the one dreaming.
She was chosen by God.
It was this dream that started her connection with Jiang Cheng.
This way, she wouldn't have to watch Jiang Cheng repeat the mistakes of her dream.

She knew that normal people would find it hard to believe such a thing easily.
Just then, Jiang Cheng suddenly stepped over and stood opposite Pei Zhi, saying in a low voice, "Pei Zhi, what Pei Xi said is true."
Pei Zhi: "?"
He clicked his tongue. "What exactly is the bet? You two are going to go this far?"

Jiang Cheng frowned and said, "Pei Zhi, we're not joking with you."

The room was silent for several seconds.
Pei Zhi stared intently at the two faces, only to find that they remained completely serious, without a trace of joking.
Then, the playfulness on his face gradually faded, replaced by a solemn expression.

Pei Xi and Jiang Cheng exchanged a glance and remained silent.
She knew that her brother didn't like being disturbed when he was thinking.
After a while, Pei Zhi rested his chin on his hand, his eyes unconsciously looking diagonally upwards, as if he remembered something, "I seem to remember... in high school, there was a period when you always had nightmares."
Pei Xi nodded hurriedly, "Yes."
Pei Zhi recalled, "It seems... it was during the summer vacation between the second and third year of high school, when those guys from No. 5 Middle School were tripping me on the court, and I got into a fight with them, which resulted in you injuring your hand."
Pei Xi hesitated for two seconds, then nodded.
That was the first time she had a dream in which Jiang Cheng told her he wanted her to stay with him forever, and then she woke up in fright.

"So you were so scared that day because you dreamed about the car accident?" Pei Zhi asked.
Pei Xi paused, then said vaguely, "I guess so."

When she was explaining, she only mentioned Jiang Cheng's company and the accident on the bridge, but she didn't mention a word about the house he gave her or the fact that he had been keeping her occupied for five days.
