Chapter 196 Until it runs through the entirety of life

June is here in the blink of an eye, and it's graduation season again, with everyone going their separate ways.

Pei Xi successfully defended his thesis and graduated.

Qi Yushu and she had already been accepted into the same university for postgraduate studies. Chen Liang took the civil service exam in Jingjiang. Zhuang Tiantian didn't want to be tied down by work and school, so she opened a women's clothing online store with others. She was busy making patterns and selecting materials every day.

Unexpectedly, despite it being the season when romance should have faded away, none of them left; they all stayed in Jingjiang.

In his free time after graduation, Pei Xi only did two things.

First, I would occasionally visit the house to check on the renovation progress; second, I would choose the wedding dress and jewelry to wear at the wedding.

She wanted a simple lawn wedding outdoors, so the wedding dresses she chose were not too complicated and were simple styles that allowed for easy movement.

After trying on a few items, she quickly decided on the style.

The pearlescent ivory satin, adorned with delicate lace, and perfectly tailored silhouette accentuate the curves of a slender waist, while the flowing skirt drapes like a light, wispy cloud.

She possesses both mature charm and youthful vivacity, which suits her perfectly.

She didn't have pierced ears and didn't want to wear clip-on earrings, so she only chose a diamond headpiece that matched her wedding dress.

As for the necklace, she doesn't plan to buy a new one.

She had decided what she would wear a long time ago.

Jiang Cheng was a little curious and asked her what it was, but she only said it was a secret and would be revealed on the wedding day.

Jiang Cheng looked into her mischievous almond-shaped eyes, suppressed his curiosity, and smiled as he said okay.

The wedding was set for the end of August, the end of summer in Jingjiang.

The location is a resort estate.

Apart from Pei Xi's own wedding dress and jewelry, Jiang Cheng was responsible for communicating and finalizing everything else for the wedding, including venue decoration, the types of buffet, and the airfare and accommodation for all the guests. He took care of everything, big and small.

On the wedding day, the Jingjiang River was breezy and the weather was perfect, with bright sunshine and not a cloud in the sky.

"Friends, what do you think of these earrings? Do they suit me?" In the waiting room, Sun Yufei, having finished her makeup and hair, held the earrings in her palm and winked at the group of people with a smug look.

“I bought these little pearl earrings especially to match this bridesmaid dress,” she said.

Pei Xi had already finished dressing up, and she smiled and nodded, praising her, "You look beautiful."

Shen Miaoyi nodded, "It looks good."

Besides the two of them, Zhuang Tiantian was also a bridesmaid. It was the first time Zhuang Tiantian had been so close to people from TV. She was a little reserved when they first met, but after chatting for a few words, she found that she and Sun Yufei were completely compatible. The two of them, who were naturally outgoing, quickly became friends.

She said, "It looks good, and it suits your hairstyle and face shape perfectly."

Sun Yufei smiled with narrowed eyes, pointed at her, and looked like she had met a kindred spirit, "You understand me."

The group joked and laughed for a while longer, when they heard voices and footsteps coming from the doorway.

The groom and best man have arrived.

The door to the waiting room was pushed open, and Jiang Cheng walked in front, dressed in a dark blue suit, tall and handsome, full of vigor, and incredibly good-looking.

A smile played on his lips as he saw Pei Xi sitting inside. His eyes lit up, and he couldn't look away for a moment.

Pei Xi is wearing a rare full makeup look today, not heavy, with a natural pinkish glow on her face, like peach blossoms with dew in spring.

She applied a tiny, fine shimmer to her lips, which, in the sunlight, looked like shimmering water.

Her hair was carefully combed and styled into a bun, revealing her long, fair neck, and her veil was adorned with a diamond crown he had bought.

She looks like a princess who fell from the sky.

A real princess.

Jiang Cheng paused for a moment, suppressing the flutter in his heart, and walked directly towards her. Sun Yufei, however, took a big step, "deliberately" blocking his way, and reached out her hand to him, jokingly asking, "Does our CEO Jiang have a big red envelope?"

Jiang Cheng stopped in his tracks, raising an eyebrow slightly. "I'll give you as big as you want."

"real?"

"Would President Jiang lie?" Shi Chen stepped forward, his eyes narrowing with a smile, and said, "Everyone who sees it gets a share."

Sun Yufei immediately made an exaggerated expression, "President Jiang is so generous!"

The group laughed heartily.

Jiang Cheng smiled and took two steps to Pei Xi's side, taking her hand in his.

Then he looked down and saw what was lying between her collarbones.

His gaze settled, and his heart suddenly skipped a beat.

It was a pure pink sapphire, bright in color, neither too light nor too pale, adorning her slender white neck, sparkling in the sunlight.

“This necklace…” Jiang Cheng’s Adam’s apple bobbed slightly as he looked up at Pei Xi.

Pei Xi smiled and took his arm, saying softly, "I haven't worn it yet, I've been waiting for today."

Jiang Cheng was taken aback.

After a moment, he whispered, "So you had already decided..."

Pei Xi hummed in response and winked at him, her thick eyelashes like butterfly wings, stirring his heart.

Jiang Cheng has given her many things so far, including countless pieces of expensive jewelry, but this necklace holds a special meaning for her.

This was the first birthday gift Jiang Cheng gave her.

Although it is not expensive, it is very precious.

So, a long time ago, she decided that she would wear this necklace at her wedding.

Because, long ago, she was certain that she would marry him.

Jiang Cheng's heart softened completely at her words. He restrained his pounding heart, afraid of ruining her makeup, and simply raised his hand to gently touch her cheek with the back of his fingers.

Not far away, a staff member suddenly announced, "The bride and groom can go out now. It's time for the wedding to begin."

Jiang Cheng nodded. "Okay."

He bent his arm so that Pei Xi could hold it.
