Chapter 25: To meet this girl?

As the saying goes, wherever there are schools, there are delicious food and fun activities. Shops that cater to students are always high-quality, affordable, and offer excellent value for money. This is absolutely true.

Moreover, not far from No. 8 Middle School, just across the street, there is a university, Yida University.

The student street was incredibly lively, the entire street lined with delicious food and fun activities: snack shops, street stalls, internet cafes, board game arcades, escape rooms...

The colorful signs are scattered at varying heights, and the street is so long that you can't see the end of it even when you stand at the street corner.

As soon as Pei Xi and Dai Wei stepped into the food street, the smoky aroma of grilled skewers wafted into their nostrils, so strong it seemed to travel for miles.

The place was packed with people, and there were long queues at many stalls, all of whom were young men and women.

Some were dressed more maturely and sophisticatedly, clearly students of Yi University, while others were bare-faced and youthful, still wearing the school uniform of No. 8 Middle School.

"They're living the high life. Unlike our school gate, there's nothing there but a main road." Dai Wei looked left and right as she walked and sighed, "I feel like I've gone stupid from being in school all this time. I feel like a country bumpkin who just came to the city."

In fact, the area where Dai Wei's school, No. 7 Middle School, was originally quite prosperous. However, due to urban planning, more and more people were relocated, the number of students decreased, and the school gradually declined, getting worse year by year.

Dai Wei lives a life that revolves around her home and school every day, completely detached from the hustle and bustle of commercial life.

"Pei Xi, is there anything you'd like to eat?" Dai Wei was overwhelmed by the dazzling array of signs and had no choice. "I want to eat everything!"

Pei Xi looked around and saw a sign sticking out not far away. On the simple wooden board, several large characters were painted: "Street-style Spicy Hot Pot".

It is plain and unremarkable, yet it carries a sense of profound simplicity.

Pei Xi felt a sense of familiarity, as it was similar to the "dessert shop at the school gate" signboard of Granny Shen.

She turned to Dai Wei and asked, "Do you want to eat hot pot?"

Dai Wei nodded, "Okay, I'll eat anything. The weather is just right, not too hot or too cold, so hot pot would be a good choice."

The two hit it off immediately and went into this down-to-earth spicy hot pot restaurant.

The hot pot restaurant was doing very well. Although it wasn't yet the peak dining time for the evening, almost half of the seats were occupied, and every table was filled with smoke as everyone ate heartily.

Pei Xi and Dai Wei ordered a hot pot with two broths, along with some of their favorite side dishes.

The hot pot smelled delicious, and it did not disappoint Pei Xi's expectations. He ate until he was full.

After finishing our hotpot, as dusk settled on the horizon, all sorts of signs lit up, shimmering with vibrant colors, crowding together, vying to be the most eye-catching and attract the most customers' attention.

The two continued strolling along the street, and a stall selling handmade yarn products caught Pei Xi's eye.

The stall owner was a young girl, around twenty years old, with two braids tied with the same yarn hair ties as those on the stall. She was sitting next to the stall, engrossed in knitting a teddy bear that was beginning to take shape.

The stall displayed a wide variety of yarn products, including hair ties, keychains, ornaments, and phone cases in various shapes.

From flowers to animals to cartoon characters, everything knitted with yarn has a touch of cuteness, and the stitches are fine and tight, giving it a high-quality look.

Pei Xi stopped in front of the stall; she had never been able to resist cute things like this.

The aroma of freshly baked egg tarts wafted from the side, attracting Dai Wei. Seeing this, she said to Pei Xi, "Take your time picking them out, I'll go buy some egg tarts."

“Mm.” Pei Xi nodded.

Egg tarts were a popular stall on this street, with a long queue. She figured Dai Wei wouldn't be able to get a turn anytime soon, so she bent down and slowly picked them out.

When the stall owner saw that Pei Xi was interested in her items, he stopped what he was doing and began to promote them to her, saying, "These are all handmade by me. Each one is unique, one of a kind in the whole world."

Pei Xi nodded in response, "You're so skillful; these are all very beautiful."

The girl smiled proudly when praised, "These styles are all my own designs. Feel free to look around and see if there's anything you like."

After saying that, the girl lowered her head again and started knitting the bear cub in her hands.

Pei Xi nodded and picked up a donut-shaped bunny keychain that he had just spotted.

The little rabbit is about the size of a palm, all white, with a big head and a small body. A pink and white donut covers the rabbit's entire head, and the donut is decorated with colorful sugar granules.

Its big ears droop down on both sides, giving it an endearing,憨态可掬 (simple and honest) appearance.

From the style to the color scheme, the whole design is beautiful. Pei Xi held it in her hand and looked at it, feeling that she couldn't put it down.

"How much is this?" Pei Xi asked.

"This one is forty-five." The stall owner girl looked up and glanced at it.

Pei Ruoyun usually gives him plenty of pocket money. Although Pei Xi doesn't spend money extravagantly, he hardly ever looks at the price when buying things.

She had no idea what handmade items were like and thought they would cost hundreds of yuan. Upon hearing the price, she promptly took out her money and bought them.

After paying, the stall owner took out his phone and handed it to Pei Xi, saying with a smile, "Beautiful lady, you can add me on WeChat. I also do online shopping here. If you have any friends from other places who would like something, I can mail it to them."

"Okay, sure." Pei Xi nodded and scanned her business card.

After adding each other on WeChat, Pei Xi picked up the little rabbit, threaded his middle finger through the keychain, and dangled the rabbit in his palm.

After admiring it for a moment, Meimei put it in her palm.

The moment his hand fell, his gaze inadvertently fell on something not far away, but he suddenly stopped.

In front of a bustling milk tea shop, a young girl with chestnut curly hair stood on an open space not far away.
