The boy paused, and Pei Xi immediately turned her head, meeting Jiang Cheng's cold eyes with a somewhat surprised expression.
Jiang Cheng took a step forward and stood in front of the boy who had approached him.
He was tall, and the boy was half a head shorter than him, so he was forced to look up at him.
"What...what do you want to do?"
The boy chickened out and took a small, wary half-step back.
Jiang Cheng raised an eyebrow, his tone icy and sarcastic: "She already said she refused, are you deaf?"
The boy looked him up and down a few times and realized that he was completely outclassed in looks and physique. Even the seasoned flirt was instantly insecure. He shrank back and said weakly, "If you don't want to add me, then don't. You should have said so earlier if you had a girlfriend."
After saying that, he glanced at the two of them and walked away dejectedly.
Although he spoke softly, his voice was clear enough, and the atmosphere instantly shifted from tense to somewhat awkward.
Pei Xi glanced at Jiang Cheng, saw that he was standing there without moving, and looked at his profile and said, "Thank you. He was just talking nonsense earlier, don't mind him."
Jiang Cheng was silent for a moment, then turned around and hummed in agreement.
His face remained expressionless, though his brows were slightly furrowed.
"Why are you here all by yourself?" he asked, looking at Pei Xi.
Pei Xi pointed to the secret room inside, "They've all gone in to play. I'll wait for Dai Wei here."
Jiang Cheng nodded and asked, "Why didn't you go inside to play?"
Pei Xi smiled and said, "Because I'm afraid of the dark."
Her smile was tinged with embarrassment, as if she herself realized how timid she was. After laughing, she pursed her lips, displaying an unwitting cuteness.
Jiang Cheng was momentarily dazed.
Pei Xi continued, "They all want to play horror games, and I can't expect so many people to accommodate just me."
There was no dissatisfaction in her tone; she was simply stating a fact.
But Jiang Cheng still detected a hint of regret in his voice.
He paused for a moment, then asked, "Do you want to play too?"
Pei Xi was taken aback, then nodded truthfully and said, "A little."
She smiled and added, "After all, sitting here can be a bit boring."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Cheng looked up, glanced at the various posters on the wall, looked around as if he was thinking about something, pondered for a few seconds, and then said, "It seems that the only theme with a clear view is 'Castle Adventure'."
Pei Xi nodded, then heard him ask, "Do you want to play that?"
Pei Xi paused for a moment, then nodded hesitantly, saying, "Anything is fine with me."
"Then wait for me here."
After saying that, Jiang Cheng walked towards the front desk, said a few words, and then walked back.
“You’ll have to wait a bit,” he said, looking at Pei Xi. “About ten minutes.”
Pei Xi stared at him intently, without replying for a moment.
If she wasn't mistaken, Jiang Cheng meant that the two of them should play together later?
Pei Xi looked at Jiang Cheng, pursed her lips, and a hint of difficulty appeared in her eyes.
Jiang Cheng noticed her silence, and his expression paused slightly. "...Don't you want to?"
Pei Xi shook his head, seemingly considering how to phrase his question. After a few seconds of contemplation, he said, "Can I ask you a question?"
Jiang Cheng nodded.
Pei Xi glanced at his expression and slowly said, "I saw you here that day, with a girl."
Jiang Cheng's gaze paused slightly.
He knew that Pei Xi had seen him that day.
Pei Xi then asked, "What...is your relationship?"
Jiang Cheng was taken aback. "What do you mean?"
Pei Xi was a little embarrassed, since it would make her seem particularly gossipy, but she still mustered up her courage and asked, "So... are you two in that kind of relationship?"
Jiang Cheng frowned, finally understanding what Pei Xi meant.
She seems to have misunderstood something.
He quickly shook his head and said, "No." Then he added, "We have no relationship whatsoever."
His voice was always cold and clear; without careful listening, one could not detect the urgency in it.
Pei Xi received the answer, his amber pupils trembled slightly, and his long eyelashes blinked.
My slightly tense back suddenly relaxed, and I inexplicably breathed a sigh of relief.
She was startled by her body's instinctive reaction. Suppressing the strange feeling in her heart, she looked at Jiang Cheng and smiled at him, "Then I'm relieved. Now we can go in and play together."
Jiang Cheng looked at her and nodded, without saying a word.
A short while later, the shop assistant invited them to enter the secret room.
It was the same short-haired girl from before. She explained the rules to the two of them while giving each of them an eye mask.
Pei Xi sent Dai Wei a message to inform her, and then the two of them handed over their phones.
As they approached the door of the secret room, the short-haired girl said, "Put on your blindfolds first. You can only take them off after I close the door once we're inside."
The two obediently put on the blindfolds.
The short-haired girl continued, "The girls stand in front, and the boys stand behind, with their hands on the girls' shoulders."
Pei Xi was blindfolded and couldn't see anything, but she noticed that after the short-haired girl finished speaking, Jiang Cheng behind her didn't move for a long time.
"This handsome guy has his hand on her shoulder..."
Before the short-haired girl could finish speaking, Pei Xi suddenly felt a weight on his shoulder as a pair of warm hands landed on him.
