When Pei Xi woke up early Saturday morning, she found that Pei Zhi's room was empty.
Just as he said, he had already left early.
Once Pei Zhi sets his mind on something, he is always full of perseverance and will do it without hesitation.
After staying at home until the afternoon, Pei Xi went out for a stroll and unknowingly walked to the barbecue restaurant where they had eaten last time.
Around three or four in the afternoon, the barbecue restaurant had just opened, and the kebab chefs at the entrance had just lit the stove, the charcoal glowing a scarlet red.
Pei Xi thought for a moment and realized that Pei Zhi liked the barbecue at this place, so she might as well bring some back for him so he could eat it when he got home after playing ball.
He hasn't been smiling much these past few days. Eating something good at least makes him a little happier.
After ordering the skewers that Pei Zhi loved, Pei Xi sat on a chair outside and waited.
There were hardly any people at the barbecue stalls, and there were many empty seats under the red and blue canopy.
Pei Xi subconsciously looked around but didn't see the familiar black motorcycle.
It's probably not Jiang Cheng's work time yet.
The skewer vendor next to her took a large amount of the skewers she had just ordered and placed them on the glowing red charcoal fire. Soon, they began to sizzle and release oil.
Sprinkle on some chili powder and cumin, and the aroma of the charcoal-grilled meat immediately fills the air.
After a while, three people came down from the red tent next door, sat down and started ordering food all at once.
Pei Xi glanced at them; all three looked like street thugs with nothing to do.
Just as he was about to look away, Pei Xi suddenly paused.
Although most petty thugs look pretty much the same, with brightly colored hair, tattoos, and skinny bodies, these three... are different from the others.
These are the three people who caused trouble at the dessert shop last time.
Pei Xi suddenly felt a jolt of alarm and quickly turned his head away.
But it was too late; the three thugs had already spotted her and were looking at her.
Pei Xi wasn't bragging; she knew she didn't have an ordinary face. As long as these people weren't stupid, they would definitely recognize her.
Recalling the unpleasant experience from last time, her heart sank. After considering for a couple of seconds, she decided to leave as soon as possible.
She stood up, and just as she was about to lift her foot, a hand suddenly landed on her shoulder.
Immediately afterward, a shrill, unpleasant voice came from behind: "Oh, isn't this the girl who was with those two boys last time?"
Pei Xi turned her head, and the blond thug who had led the group last time was standing behind her, grinning menacingly and revealing a mouthful of yellow teeth.
She took a step back, looked at the group warily, and shook off the hand that was on her shoulder.
A glint of shrewdness flashed in the blond-haired man's eyes as he smiled and said, "What, all alone today?"
Pei Xi looked at him, a chill creeping down her spine.
The blond-haired man stepped forward, looked at Pei Xi, and leered at her face. "Those two guys gave us a hard time last time. Little beauty, shouldn't you apologize to us on their behalf?"
He gave a thumbs-up and pointed to the beer on the table behind him. "I won't make things difficult for you. Have a couple of drinks with me as an apology, okay?"
After he finished speaking, he and the two thugs behind him chuckled.
Pei Xi clenched her fists at her sides. If she weren't too weak to beat them, she would have loved to punch his foul mouth out of shape.
She took a deep breath and said to the blond-haired man, "I don't know you. You've mistaken me for someone else."
Even though it was broad daylight, she still didn't dare to provoke them.
After all, the difference in strength was too great.
Upon hearing this, the blond-haired man clicked his tongue, narrowed his eyes, and smiled lewdly: "Little sister is so funny. How could your brother mistake you for someone else when you're so beautiful?"
"I really don't know you." Pei Xi took several steps back, turned around and walked away, wanting to go to a place with more people.
The blond-haired man, however, clung to her like a leech, reaching out to grab her clothes.
Just then, a sudden screech of brakes was heard.
A motorcycle sped over and blocked the yellow-haired man's path. If it had gotten any closer, it would have hit his leg.
The blond-haired man was so startled that he immediately took a step back.
Pei Xi was taken aback. When he saw the familiar figure straddling the car, an indescribable sense of relief instantly spread throughout his body.
It's Jiang Cheng.
Her stiff back relaxed, and her highly tense heart finally settled.
Jiang Cheng took off his helmet, looked at Pei Xi, frowned, and asked, "Are you alright?"
Pei Xi shook his head.
Then, subconsciously, I took two steps closer to him.
The blond-haired guy, having recovered, pointed at Jiang Cheng and shouted, "Who the hell are you?!"
He looked closely at the face of the person straddling the motorcycle in front of him twice, confirming that it wasn't the two guys from last time.
"Let me tell you, don't fucking meddle in other people's business!" Yellow Hair glared angrily, and the other two thugs came over and stood behind him.
Last time, they couldn't handle two people, and this time there's only one person, so he's no match for the three of them.
To everyone's surprise, Jiang Cheng looked at them and suddenly let out a sneer.
They were utterly disdainful.
"You touched her just now, didn't you?"
His voice was terrifyingly cold.
"You touched it, how come..."
Before Huang Mao could finish speaking, Jiang Cheng suddenly raised his hand, grabbed the helmet in his hand, and swung it directly at him.
The blond-haired man clutched his head and cried out "Ouch!" before collapsing to the ground.
Before the remaining two could react, Jiang Cheng had already strode out of the car and smacked each of them in the face.
The two stumbled and knocked over two chairs.
