Chapter 4 Dreams are all fake

—In my dream, Jiang Cheng also had a scar like this on his hand.

It's exactly the same as what's in front of me.

These hands perfectly overlapped with the hand in my dream.

But this scar was something she had only seen for the first time today...

The muscles in her back instantly stiffened. She stared at Jiang Cheng's hands and suddenly felt a little dizzy.

Just then, Shen Miaoyi's voice suddenly rang out from behind: "Pei Xi?"

Pei Xi snapped back to reality, snatched the book from Jiang Cheng's hand, quickly said thank you with her head down, and turned to leave without looking at him.

She walked quickly to Shen Miaoyi's side and took her arm. "...Finished choosing? Let's go pay the bill."

After saying that, she pulled Shen Miaoyi and walked out.

Shen Miaoyi didn't notice her strange behavior, but glanced at where she had just stood and asked in a low voice as she walked, "Am I seeing things? Was that shop assistant Jiang Cheng from our school?"

Pei Xi licked his lips, desperately suppressing the absurd thoughts in his mind, and softly hummed in agreement.

"Did you talk to him?" Shen Miaoyi asked.

"Okay." Pei Xi nodded, holding up the book in her hand. "Have him help me get a book."

Shen Miaoyi's eyes widened in surprise, and she covered her mouth with her hand. "You're so brave!"

Pei Xi turned to look at her, frowning slightly as he asked, "What's wrong?"

“I think he’s so cold,” Shen Miaoyi said. “Once, I accidentally made eye contact with him and it was a little scary. When he looked at me, it was like he was looking at some lifeless object, without any emotion at all.”

After saying that, she shrank her neck, looking as if she was still shaken.

Pei Xi was somewhat surprised.

She knew Jiang Cheng was cold, but she never expected that he would be so frightening from Shen Miaoyi's perspective.

The image of Jiang Cheng's eyes from her dream subconsciously appeared in her mind.

Those eyes were incredibly dark, like an unyielding mass of ink. Far from being cold, they were brimming with intense emotions that were about to overflow, threatening to scorch her.

Pei Xi subconsciously clenched the book in her hand, the corner of the book digging into her palm and causing a slight pain, but she did not let go, using the pain to stop her from overthinking.

The Jiang Cheng in reality and the Jiang Cheng in dreams are not the same person.

Dreams are all fake.

That scar must just be a coincidence.
