Chapter 49 Jiang Cheng, do you take me for a three-year-old?

Everything around us was muted.

Pei Xi could only see those calm, dark eyes.

Everyone else was hugging and celebrating, sharing their joy. Amidst the bustling noise, only he stared intently at her.

Pei Xi's heart seemed to be struck by something in an instant.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the field, Pan Qing stood on the sidelines, a deep sense of resentment in his eyes.

He looked at Jiang Cheng, his hands clenched into fists at his sides, so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

That kid's got guts.

He secretly messed with him several times, but the kid didn't utter a sound and endured it all.

Although his attack was not obvious, it was absolutely ruthless. Based on his experience, few people could withstand it.

Pan Qing spat and cursed.

He really underestimated this kid.

He glared fiercely at Jiang Cheng and Pei Zhi, picked up his bag from the rest area, and strode away angrily.

When the other students from No. 5 Middle School saw Pan Qing leave, they also slunk off and followed him. The group left without saying a word.

"Pei Xi! Pei Xi!" A voice came from behind. Pei Xi turned around and saw Dai Wei looking at her excitedly. "It was so worth coming today! He's so handsome! Absolutely incredibly handsome!"

Pei Xi smiled, completely agreeing with Dai Wei's opinion; he really was incredibly handsome.

The audience began to leave one after another, and Dai Wei's friends who came with her were also urging her to leave. So Dai Wei waved to Pei Xi and said, "I'm leaving now. Contact me on WeChat if anything comes up!"

“Okay.” Pei Xi waved to her.

She turned around and looked in the direction where Jiang Cheng had been standing, but her gaze met nothing.

Jiang Cheng has disappeared.

Pei Xi was stunned. His eyes searched the room. Pei Zhi was surrounded by a large group of his friends celebrating, and several girls stood shyly to the side, holding water for him.

Everyone was bustling around, but Jiang Cheng was nowhere to be seen.

Pei Xi frowned slightly, his gaze sweeping back and forth across the scene. In a casual glance, he suddenly spotted a familiar figure amidst the bustling crowd.

"Miaomiao, I'm going out for a bit."

After leaving those words for Shen Miaoyi, Pei Xi quickly chased after the departing figure.

-

Jiang Cheng was swept up in the chaotic and bustling crowd as he walked out of the stadium entrance.

He had just seen Pei Xi's expression.

He was sure she was happy.

She's probably celebrating with Pei Zhi and the others right now, Jiang Cheng thought as he walked.

It was midday, and the sun outside the stadium was glaring. Jiang Cheng squinted and suddenly heard someone calling his name from behind.

For a moment, he thought he was hallucinating.

Then he heard another voice: "Jiang Cheng!"

Jiang Cheng turned his head in disbelief and saw Pei Xi pushing aside countless shoulders and running towards him from the crowd.

He suddenly froze in place.

When Pei Xi saw him stop, her face lit up with joy, and she called out to him, "Wait for me!"

She waved as she ran faster toward him and stopped in front of him.

Pei Xi calmed her breathing, looked up at Jiang Cheng, her brows furrowing slightly, and asked, "Why did you leave? You disappeared as soon as I turned around."

Her tone carried a hint of coquettishness that she herself was unaware of. Jiang Cheng lowered his eyes, looking at her pupils that were almost transparent in the sunlight, and remained silent for a moment.

Pei Xi frowned again and asked, "Is there something you need?"

Jiang Cheng moved his lips, about to speak, when Pei Xi was suddenly bumped on the back by a passerby. Jiang Cheng subconsciously reached out, grabbed her arm, and steadied her staggering figure.

The moment he raised his arm, he couldn't help but hiss.

Pei Xi was taken aback, a look of urgency appearing between his brows. He looked Pei Xi up and down and asked, "Are you injured?"

Jiang Cheng shook his head and simply said, "It's nothing."

Pei Xi looked up at his face and noticed that his lips were an abnormally white.

Moreover, even though the match had ended long ago, sweat was still seeping from his forehead.

Pei Xi's expression instantly turned serious. She grabbed Jiang Cheng's clothes and said, "Let's go to the hospital."

"Need not..."

Jiang Cheng was about to refuse when Pei Xi grabbed his arm without giving him a chance to argue, and his tone turned serious: "Listen to me."

Jiang Cheng rarely saw Pei Xi with such a serious expression, and he was stunned for a moment, forgetting to struggle.

Fortunately, there was a hospital nearby, so Pei Xi went to the emergency room and was seen by a male doctor in his thirties.

When he saw the two of them, a look of amazement flashed in his eyes. Are all children these days so beautiful?

Before he could even ask, Pei Xi spoke first, his tone urgent and worried: "Doctor, it seems like he has an injury to his waist. Could you please take a look?"

The male doctor nodded and said to Jiang Cheng, "Young man, lift up your clothes, let me examine you first."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Cheng hesitated for a moment, but did not move.

The male doctor seemed to sense his concern and said nonchalantly, "What's there to be ashamed of? What's a young man like you afraid of?"

After saying that, he reached out and lifted Jiang Cheng's clothes.

Upon opening the lid, a bruise was visible on his lower left rib area, which looked quite horrifying.

Pei Xi immediately covered her mouth.

She knew the people at No. 5 Middle School were ruthless, but she never expected them to be so vicious!

Jiang Cheng's entire waist and abdomen were exposed, his muscles were firm and well-proportioned, and from a visual point of view, the purplish marks even added to the beauty of battle damage.
