Friday night, at Dayu Internet Cafe.
Zhu Yuan opened two buckets of instant noodles, poured hot water into them, and deftly stuck one bucket into the other with a fork. He then walked over the densely packed machines to a corner inside, carrying one bucket in each hand.
"Brother Cheng, one is braised, the other is spicy, which flavor do you want?" Zhu Yuan asked Jiang Cheng, who was playing a game.
Jiang Cheng didn't even look up. "Whatever."
Zhu Yuan thought for a moment and placed the bowl of braised food in front of Jiang Cheng.
Because he wanted to eat something spicy.
After waiting a few minutes, estimating that the noodles were almost ready, Zhu Yuan picked up the fork, put it in the bucket, stirred it, and started slurping it down.
After taking a few bites, he turned his head to look at Jiang Cheng, who was still engrossed in the game.
Zhu Yuan sighed. Why did he feel that Jiang Cheng seemed to be working even harder?
My injuries hadn't fully healed when I started printing prescriptions, and I kept printing until the middle of the night.
He's like an iron man.
Zhu Yuan truly admired him.
Moreover, Zhu Yuan has recently noticed that his brother Cheng seems to be in a very good mood.
Although Jiang Cheng was usually expressionless and indifferent when interacting with people, Zhu Yuan suddenly realized that he didn't seem so cold anymore.
In the past, when Jiang Cheng looked at people, his coldness made everyone want to stay away.
This is why, even though he knew Jiang Cheng needed to make money, he never suggested that Jiang Cheng come to the internet cafe to help him.
He dared not.
He was afraid that if Jiang Cheng showed it to him for two days, his internet cafe would go out of business.
After Zhu Yuan ate most of a bowl of instant noodles, he saw Jiang Cheng take off his headphones, pull out a fork, and start eating the instant noodles.
He ate with a hearty and satisfying manner, chewing large mouthfuls, his jawline clearly defined by the effort.
Zhu Yuan wiped his mouth and turned to ask Jiang Cheng, "By the way, Cheng-ge, didn't Brother Jiang tell you before that he wanted you to join his studio after the college entrance exam? Did you agree?"
Jiang Cheng slowed down his eating pace, then shook his head. "No."
Upon hearing this, Zhu Yuan's face showed a hint of surprise. Holding the instant noodle box, he ate while asking, "Why? Isn't this a great opportunity? I think Brother Jiang is quite satisfied with you, and his attitude is very sincere."
Jiang Cheng hummed in agreement. "It has nothing to do with him. It's my own fault for not wanting to."
Zhu Yuan paused for a moment, thought for a while, and then tentatively asked, "Brother Cheng, do you want to do it yourself?"
Jiang Cheng swallowed a mouthful of instant noodles, raised an eyebrow at him, and then nodded.
“I want to make money,” he said.
Then you can't work for someone else.
Zhu Yuan remained silent for a moment.
He remembered what Jiang Cheng had said before, that he was too poor and that he didn't earn enough money.
He didn't know how much money was enough, because he had no great ambitions. He was content with just being able to keep an eye on this small internet cafe every day and earn a little money to live on.
But Jiang Cheng is definitely different from him.
Zhu Yuan asked instinctively, "Brother Cheng, how much money do you want to make?"
Without hesitation, Jiang Cheng replied, "A lot of money."
Lots and lots of money.
There were enough to nurture his most beloved roses.
He had so much that he was no longer penniless, and then he would hand over everything he owned to her.
Upon hearing this answer, Zhu Yuan opened his mouth, a hint of surprise flashing across his face, before realizing it was indeed the obvious answer.
To be worthy of such a princess, one certainly needs a lot of money.
Zhu Yuan cleared his throat, leaned closer to Jiang Cheng, and asked with a hint of gossip, "Brother Cheng, how far have things progressed between you and your little princess?"
Upon hearing those two words in his words, Jiang Cheng frowned, glanced at him, and said in a somewhat cold tone, "Don't talk nonsense."
It doesn't belong to him.
He is not yet qualified to have it.
"Okay, I misspoke." Zhu Yuan chuckled awkwardly. Last time he met Pei Xi at Jiang Cheng's house, Jiang Cheng specifically explained to him so that he wouldn't misunderstand.
He was also warned not to talk nonsense.
He forgot about it for a moment.
“We’re not friends at all,” Jiang Cheng replied softly.
Although Zhu Yuan is not as good-looking as Jiang Cheng and has little experience in dating, he is much more experienced in getting along with girls.
From childhood to adulthood, he had never seen Jiang Cheng speak more than two words to any girl.
Given Jiang Cheng's personality, he certainly lacks experience in building a closer relationship with the two.
Zhu Yuan rolled his eyes twice, put the instant noodle cup on the table, and whispered to Jiang Cheng, "By the way, Cheng-ge, I remember tomorrow is your birthday, don't you want to ask her to celebrate with you?"
Jiang Cheng was taken aback.
He remained silent for a long time, seemingly considering something, before hesitantly asking, "What...should I do?"
Zhu Yuan stroked his chin, speaking with the air of someone who'd been there: "When you go out with a girl, the first thing to do is definitely watch a movie. After that, take her out to eat, then take a walk, and then take her home... that's basically the routine."
He continued, "Perfect timing. I heard there's a movie that's been getting pretty good reviews and is quite popular online. You could check it out."
He gave the name of the movie.
Upon hearing this, Jiang Cheng pondered for a moment, then took out his phone and searched for the movie's name.
It is a suspense film.
The online reviews are indeed very good, and the occupancy rate shown on the ticketing page is also quite good.
Zhu Yuan leaned closer, saw his phone screen, pointed at it, and said, "Brother Cheng, you should buy this. It's a VIP couples' room, the timing is right, and most importantly, the seats have partitions, so it's quiet."
Jiang Cheng's finger hovered over the screen, but he didn't tap it.
The next second, he swiped his finger and clicked directly on the regular giant screen hall below.
Zhu Yuan exclaimed "Eh?" in confusion. Jiang Cheng didn't explain, silently selected the two best seats, and then clicked to pay.
