It's caramel flavored and very sweet, but she couldn't taste it.
She mechanically chewed the popcorn in her mouth, swallowed it, and took a deep breath.
Then, she looked at Jiang Cheng beside her and tried to speak naturally, asking him, "By the way, could you do me a favor?"
Jiang Cheng was taken aback, then nodded. "What kind of help?"
Pei Xi took out her earphone case from her pocket, opened it, and asked him while connecting her phone, "My friend asked me to help her choose a song for the school anniversary competition. I've picked one out, could you listen to it for me?"
A hint of surprise flashed in Jiang Cheng's eyes. He paused for a second, then nodded.
Pei Xi looked up, took out an earphone, and handed it to him.
It's the one on the left.
Jiang Cheng paused for a moment as he reached out his hand, and Pei Xi immediately raised his hand and put the earphone into his ear.
His expression seemed to freeze for a moment, but he didn't move.
Pei Xi looked at the small earphone hanging on his ear, his palms already sweating.
Then she said softly, "I'm starting to play it now, listen to it."
Jiang Cheng hummed in agreement.
After a dozen seconds, Pei Xi glanced at his face and asked softly, "I think this sounds pretty good... What do you think?"
Jiang Cheng nodded, still letting out a soft "Mmm".
Pei Xi gripped his phone tightly, his knuckles almost turning white, desperately trying to control the tremor in his voice: "Then I'll tell Miaomiao that this song has received our unanimous approval."
"Okay." Jiang Cheng paused for a second, then said in a deep voice.
Pei Xi smiled and held out her hand to him, "Okay, give me the earphones."
Jiang Cheng took off his headphones and placed them in her hand.
Pei Xi clenched his fists, his hands hanging down below the table, his fingertips trembling uncontrollably.
She gripped this hand tightly with her other hand, her heart pounding so hard it felt like it was going to shatter her eardrums.
She didn't play any music just now.
There was absolutely no sound coming from the headphones.
