For some reason, standing next to them, Shen Miaoyi suddenly felt like she was a bit superfluous.
She took two steps back, then two more, and then simply turned around and went back to the classroom.
However, he kept looking back every few steps.
It's not that she's disloyal, but...
Anyway, she just felt something was off.
It's best to leave now.
Pei Xi was still standing there. Jiang Cheng glanced at her wet hands, took out a pack of tissues from his pocket, pulled one out and handed it to her, "Use this to wipe."
Pei Xi was taken aback, then reached out and took it. "Thank you."
I didn't expect him to be so meticulous.
He actually carried tissues with him.
She turned a piece of paper over and over in her palm and back of her hand to absorb the water. Pei Xi held the paper in her hand, but suddenly saw Jiang Chengchao reach out his hand to her, palm facing up.
"Give it to me, I'll throw it away for you."
Pei Xi was taken aback; she wasn't so delicate as to expect someone else to throw her trash.
But for some reason, my hand still inexplicably placed the paper on it.
Jiang Cheng withdrew his hand and clenched the paper in his fist.
Pei Xi suddenly felt a strange heat in his ears.
After all... the paper was wet from wiping it, so it seemed to be something quite private.
If you asked her to take a tissue that someone else had used to wipe their hands, she definitely wouldn't.
But Jiang Cheng didn't seem to mind at all.
Pei Xi cleared his throat and said to him, "Um... I have to go now, I'll be going."
Jiang Cheng hummed in agreement.
Pei Xi nodded, raised his hand to touch his burning earlobe, and then quickly returned to the classroom.
As soon as I returned to the classroom, I saw Shen Miaoyi sitting in her seat, frowning and looking at me with a questioning expression, as if she had something to say.
Pei Xi asked softly, "Wh...what's wrong?"
Shen Miaoyi leaned close to her ear and asked in a low voice, "How do you know Jiang Cheng?"
Pei Xi paused, then saw the teacher walking in with books. He whispered in her ear, "It's a long story... I'll explain after school."
The last class passed quickly. As soon as the school bell rang, Pei Xi hurriedly packed his schoolbag and went to Grandma's dessert shop with Shen Miaoyi.
She planned to "tell the truth" to Shen Miaoyi while enjoying a hot dessert.
After all, liking someone isn't something to be ashamed of.
So, while Shi Chen and Pei Zhi were playing basketball, the two of them sat down at the old lady's dessert shop.
The weather has turned cold, and the outdoor umbrellas and seats have been removed; everyone is now dining indoors.
There were many people after school, and the room was almost full.
Grandma has launched a new autumn/winter product: red bean and taro soup. It's warm, soft, and comforting, perfect for this season.
As soon as he put the bowl on the table, Pei Xi couldn't wait to take a bite, then squinted his eyes in satisfaction.
Just as they were about to speak and "tell the truth," the two suddenly heard a familiar voice coming from the window: "Hello, give me a bowl of red bean and taro soup."
The two of them looked over instinctively and were both taken aback.
The man also looked over.
The familiar bangs, the familiar upturned eyes, only the familiar proud expression carried a rare hint of embarrassment.
"What... are you doing here?" Sun Yufei asked hesitantly.
"Shouldn't we be asking you that..." Shen Miaoyi said weakly.
Sun Yufei blinked, momentarily speechless, and after a few seconds of silence, said, "I bought it for someone else."
"Girl, your taro soup is ready." Granny Shen handed the bowl to Sun Yufei, then looked at Shen Miaoyi and Pei Xi and asked, "Is this girl your classmate?"
Shen Miaoyi paused for a moment, then nodded.
Grandma Chen sighed, seemingly a little regretful, "This girl always comes over to eat, why don't you say you know our Miaomiao? If I had known, I would have given you a discount."
As she spoke, she added another spoonful of taro paste to the bowl.
Sun Yufei: "......"
Pei Xi and Shen Miaoyi blinked, their eyes darting away in unison, pretending not to have heard.
The room was crowded and there were no empty seats. Pei Xi patted the empty chair next to him and said to Sun Yufei, "Let's sit here and eat together."
Sun Yufei hesitated for two seconds, but still carried the bowl over and sat down.
The three people sat at a table, and an awkward silence fell over them.
After a long pause, Shen Miaoyi looked at Sun Yufei, who was engrossed in eating, and hesitated before speaking: "Um..."
Before he could finish speaking, Sun Yufei interrupted him bluntly without even looking up: "What? I don't need you to comfort me."
"No..." Shen Miaoyi pursed her lips, her expression somewhat innocent, "I meant to say that it would taste even better if you drizzled some osmanthus honey in it."
Sun Yufei: "".
After a two-second silence, she actually obediently picked up the osmanthus honey on the table and squeezed some into the bowl.
Then I scooped up a spoonful and put it in my mouth.
Shen Miaoyi asked with a smile, "How is it? Isn't it delicious? This osmanthus honey was made by my grandma herself, and she added natural local honey."
Sun Yufei said indifferently, "It's alright."
Then he said, "Almost."
A second later, "Hmm, it might taste a little better."
He paused, then shook his head, "But not too many."
Shen Miaoyi stared at her intently for a long while, then said "Oh".
Sun Yufei lowered her head and began to stuff large mouthfuls of food into her mouth.
Pei Xi sat to the side, trying to suppress his laughter until his stomach ached.
She never expected Sun Yufei to be so adorable.
Pei Zhi's arrogance is nothing compared to hers.
