Chapter 75 Don't Be Afraid, My Darling

A middle-aged woman, around forty years old, stood at the door, wearing a fitted camel-colored trench coat, with long chestnut-colored curly hair draped over her shoulders, sunglasses on her face, and a slight smile on her lips.

She walked in with an air of authority and a leisurely gait.

Behind him followed a young man, dressed in a suit and tie, exuding an air of sophistication.

Walking up to Xu Lian's desk, the woman raised her hand, gently closing her thumb and middle finger, and slowly removed her sunglasses, revealing a well-maintained and exquisite face.

Then she turned her palm slightly, elegantly pinching one of the mirror temples, and said to Xu Lian, "Hello, I am Pei Xi's mother, my name is Pei Ruoyun."

As soon as he finished speaking, the man next to him handed over a business card between his fingers.

Xu Lian stared blankly for a few seconds before reaching out to take it.

Pei Xi stood to the side, looking at Pei Ruoyun, and for a moment he could hardly believe his eyes.

“Mom…” she murmured.

Pei Ruoyun reached out and touched Pei Xi's cheek, saying gently, "Sweetie, it's okay, Mommy's here."

Pei Xi gave a soft "hmm".

A hint of heartache flashed in Pei Ruoyun's eyes. Then she turned her head and looked down at Xu Lian, who was sitting in her seat. She suppressed the gentleness on her face and curled her lips slightly. "I stood at the door for a long time and heard Teacher Xu talking to my daughter inside. Out of politeness, I didn't come in to disturb her right away."

Xu Lian's hand holding the business card froze for a moment.

She saw the words "Chairman of Chengmei Luggage" on the business card.

Pei Ruoyun has a powerful aura; she is clearly a ruthless and decisive veteran in the business world. On the surface, she is polite and gentle, but in reality, she is extremely intimidating.

Xu Lian's palms were slightly damp.

Her previous imposing manner vanished instantly. She stood up and said to Pei Ruoyun, "Pei Xi's mother, ... let's sit down and talk about it."

Pei Ruoyun shook her head, her tone indifferent: "There's no need to sit down. I think it's better to talk about something this important directly in the principal's office."

After speaking, she glanced at Xu Lian, her expression blank, as if she didn't take her seriously at all.

Two minutes later, in the principal's office.

Pei Ruoyun sat calmly on the sofa, a smile on her face, but the light in her eyes was incredibly sharp.

The principal held the business card Pei Ruoyun handed him, a layer of sweat appearing beneath his already thinning hair.

Although he had never met Pei Ruoyun, seeing Chengmei handbags and her name on her business card still made his heart skip a beat.

Pei Ruoyun is a key member of the Yushi Chamber of Commerce, and Chengmei is also a major contributor to the annual tax revenue of the Yushi government. Even the school's sports and cultural building was donated by the Chamber of Commerce.

I never expected to offend her today.

At Pei Ruoyun's instruction, Pei Xi briefly explained the ins and outs of the matter, and the principal's back was already slightly sweaty.

The essay contest was a trivial matter, not really his responsibility, and he didn't even know about it.

He murmured to Pei Ruoyun, "Um...Ms. Pei, there must be some misunderstanding here. We can solve any problems together."

"Your school revoked my daughter's award without conducting a thorough investigation, subjecting her to unwarranted public pressure." Pei Ruoyun paused, pursed her lips, and shook her head. "I'm sorry, but I really can't condone your school's way of handling things."

Her demeanor appeared calm, and her voice was clear and calm, yet it made people feel incredibly pressured.

Upon hearing this, the principal could only nod repeatedly in agreement: "Yes, yes, the teacher's actions were indeed inappropriate, inappropriate..."

Pei Ruoyun's eyes were sharp, and her tone was firm and left no room for refusal: "These students have already damaged my daughter's reputation and mental health. If the school does not come forward to clarify and provide proper guidance, I will not hesitate to pursue your legal responsibilities directly."

She countered, "Students are supposed to be protected by the school. Is this how your school protects its students?"

The principal stammered under her questioning, "This...this is indeed a dereliction of duty on the part of the school. I believe your daughter would never do such a thing..."

“Principal Lin, I am not an unreasonable person. I have a document here, and I hope that after you have read it, you can give my daughter justice.”

Pei Ruoyun gave a wink, "Attorney Yan, please give this to Principal Lin."

Yan Mo nodded, took a USB drive out of his briefcase, and handed it over.

The principal plugged in the USB drive, clicked the mouse, and a hissing sound of electricity came from the computer.

That was a recording.

It began with a familiar, clear voice, "Li Yiming, so you reported Pei Xi's essay contest, right?"

Pei Xi listened from the side, and opened his eyes in surprise.

Then another familiar voice immediately rang out: "So what if it is?"

It's Li Yiming.

"You deliberately framed her."

“Yes,” Li Yiming said, “I want to pull her down, pull her to my side…”

The next second, a loud "bang" came from the computer, and the recording stopped abruptly.

It was short, but it was enough to serve as evidence.

The principal's palms were slightly sweaty as he touched the mouse, and he looked at Pei Ruoyun awkwardly.

"You should have heard that clearly. Someone is deliberately framing my daughter." Pei Ruoyun rested her chin on her hand and pointed a finger at the computer.

"Of course, very clear, very clear." The principal nodded repeatedly.

Pei Ruoyun nodded slightly, then stood up and looked at the principal, "Then I hope the school can handle this matter satisfactorily and not disappoint us parents."

"Definitely. We will reinstate Pei Xi's name on the list of award winners and issue a public clarification for her."
