Chapter 77 There are only three of us, why did you buy four bottles?

Young people's thoughts come and go quickly; their attention can be easily drawn to other things.

Not long after this incident, the highly anticipated school anniversary celebration began.

Red carpets were laid in the lobby of every building in the school, and inflatable arches were erected at the entrances of the buildings. On both sides of the arches were two couplets that read, "Forty years of spring and autumn have nurtured talents, and thousands of pillars of society have unfolded a grand blueprint." The fiery red color fluttered in the wind.

The whole school was filled with joy and celebration, and was decorated with lanterns and colorful streamers.

The opening ceremony was in the afternoon, and the school made an exception by allowing all students to bring their mobile phones today.

The gala was held in the auditorium, which was two or three times larger than the small auditorium where the auditions had been held, and could accommodate all the teachers and students of the school.

Each class has its own designated area, which isn't strictly managed, and everyone can bring their own snacks.

This was unprecedented; the school's small supermarket was almost emptied out instantly.

By the time Pei Xi remembered to go, almost all the good food was sold out, leaving only instant noodles, which couldn't be eaten immediately.

She sighed inwardly at her lack of foresight, and thus only bought a few bottles of drinks.

Because Shen Miaoyi was going to perform on stage, she went backstage early to prepare. Pei Xi was bored sitting alone, so he went to Pei Zhi's class and found an empty seat.

He sat down next to Shi Chen and Pei Zhi.

She took a bottle of drink from the bag and handed it to Pei Zhi, then took another bottle and handed it to Shi Chen.

Pei Zhi glanced at the plastic bag in her hand and clicked his tongue. "There are only three of us, why did you buy four bottles?"

"I..." Pei Xi was speechless for a moment.

After a few seconds of hesitation, she said stiffly, "Can't I have two flavors?"

Pei Zhi was taken aback. "I didn't say no, why are you arguing with me?"

He glanced at her, muttering somewhat aggrievedly, "...I was just asking casually."

Pei Xi gave a slightly guilty smile, took the drink from Pei Zhi's hand, and very attentively unscrewed the cap for him.

It was then handed back to Pei Zhi.

Pei Zhi didn't take it. He glanced at the bag Pei Xi had placed on his lap and said, "Do you have grape-flavored ones in there? I want to drink those."

"No way." Pei Xi said firmly, and subconsciously covered his face.

Pei Zhi: "?"

Pei Xi met Pei Zhi's slightly bewildered gaze and forced a smile. "Brother, this grape flavor doesn't taste good. It's very sour."

She held up the bottle she had just opened and said sincerely, "This peach flavor is sweeter, really."

After listening, Pei Zhi paused for a second, then said with a resentful look, "Pei Xi, is that how you see me?"

Pei Xi gave a puzzled "Hmm?"

Pei Zhi frowned. "I'm your brother. Do you think I'd let you drink something so awful? Would I make you suffer for my sake?"

After saying that, he looked generous and righteous, and stretched out his hand straight to her, "Take it, brother isn't afraid of sourness."

Pei Xi: "".

She slowly took the bottle of grape juice out of the bag, and was about to hand it over when she heard Shi Chen suddenly speak up: "Pei Xi is being so kind, why do you have to go against her?"

He clicked his tongue lightly, "You can't even handle sour things, what are you trying to prove?"

Upon hearing this, Pei Zhi was not angry at all. Instead, he nodded in agreement, "That's true."

After saying that, he reached out to snatch the apple juice that Shi Chen hadn't had time to drink yet, saying, "You can drink the grape juice."

Shi Chen: "." Then, with lightning speed, he immediately unscrewed the bottle cap and took a gulp.

Pei Zhi immediately gave him a disdainful look.

What kind of person is that? So selfish.

Seeing this, Pei Xi immediately shoved the peach juice into Pei Zhi's hand, "Stop arguing, drink it quickly."

"Alright." Pei Zhi shrugged, took the bottle, opened the cap, and started chugging the beverage.

Pei Xi finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Then she subconsciously began searching for Jiang Cheng's figure.

The gala had not yet started, but the auditorium was brightly lit, crowded with people, and bustling with activity.

Pei Xi looked around but didn't see Jiang Cheng.

Has he left?

She looked away and leaned back in her chair, deflated.

Then my gaze suddenly stopped.

It turns out that after searching for so long, it was just that the object of my search was both far away and right in front of me.

In front of me, right in front of me, was the back of a familiar head.

He looked like he had just gotten a haircut; it was shorter and gave him a clean and neat look.

She was looking down at her phone, revealing a section of her fair neck with slightly bulging veins on the side.

Pei Xi then noticed that, from behind, there was a small, light brown mole below his left earlobe, set against his pale skin.

If a person is good-looking, even a mole can seem like a small decoration.

Pei Xi took out a drink from the bag, reached through the gap in the seat, and gently touched his arm.

Jiang Cheng seemed to pause for a moment, then tilted his head slightly and looked down at him.

Pei Xi saw half of his profile.

Then the other end of the drink is held.

Pei Xi did not let go immediately; she could feel the force of Jiang Cheng's fingers transmitted to her hand through the beverage bottle.

Along with some hidden emotion.

In the noisy hall, filled with distinguished guests, only they knew what happened between the seats.

Even the people standing right next to them didn't notice.

Pei Xi suddenly felt a warmth in her palm, as if he had transferred the warmth of his fingertips to her.

Then she quickly let go of her hand.

Jiang Cheng paused, then withdrew his hand.

Two seconds later, his phone vibrated with a "buzz".

Jiang Cheng took it out, and a message came from a white cat avatar.

"This flavor is the best; you must try it."

He looked down and saw a bunch of purplish-red grapes printed on the beverage bottle in his hand, looking fresh and juicy.

There were still glistening dewdrops clinging to it.
