Chapter 88 My Brother Gets More Handsome Every Day

After playing cards at Shi Chen's house, they played some board games, ate cake, and offered a few words of blessing to Young Master Shi, wishing him "May you have many more happy returns of the day." Then, they all dispersed like birds and beasts.

On my way home, it was already getting dark.

In mid-December, the winter atmosphere grew stronger, and the weather forecast said that the first snow of the year might fall in the next few days.

As soon as they stepped outside, Pei Zhi zipped up Pei Xi's coat all the way up and adjusted the collar, saying, "It's windy, don't let it blow on your neck."

Pei Xi glanced at his clothes. "You're still wearing your clothes open."

Pei Zhi scoffed, a look of "you don't know" and inexplicable pride on his face. "I'm a man. Men are different from you girls. Have you heard of the saying 'Men have three fires in their bodies'? We men aren't afraid of the cold."

Pei Xi smiled.

She suddenly remembered that Jiang Cheng had acted the same way back in Yi City.

She was wearing a thick coat, while he was only wearing a thin shirt.

It seems the men really do have fire inside them.

"Yes, you men aren't afraid of the cold," she murmured unconsciously.

"'All'? Who else is there besides me?" Pei Zhi turned his head and asked.

Pei Xi was speechless for a moment, then coughed, "Nobody, it's just something I blurted out out of habit."

Pei Zhi, unsuspecting, walked along while raising his arm to show off his biceps, which were completely hidden by his clothes, with a proud look on his face. "I don't know about others, but I'm in great health. There aren't many people in the whole school as healthy as me. I haven't caught a cold in years."

Pei Xi was startled.

After he said that, she realized that Pei Zhi really did rarely get sick.

Although he wasn't particularly muscular, with only a thin layer of muscle, he was in excellent physical condition because he exercised a lot.

Something flashed through Pei Xi's mind in a flash, and he suddenly paused for a moment.

She remembered that Pei Zhi wasn't the athletic type when he was little. He preferred to stay in his room reading books, comics, and playing games, and didn't really like going out.

But then he changed.

They always go out to play ball and run.

He only fell in love with basketball after that.

When did this change begin?

Pei Xi had never paid attention to it before, only thinking that people naturally awaken their genes for sports and fitness as they grow up.

Looking back now, it was probably when he had just entered junior high school.

That was the year she was injured.

Pei Xi's heart tightened, and an unbelievable guess surfaced, as if his heart was suddenly being gripped by some emotion.

She turned to look at Pei Zhi. Pei Zhi's profile was handsome and good-looking. Even his hair was light and airy, soft and refreshing, overflowing with youthful charm, as if every part of him was a masterpiece by Nuwa.

His nose tip was slightly red from the wind, like a handsome little dog with a pink nose.

Pei Xi stared blankly, suddenly unsure of what to say.

Pei Zhi noticed her gaze, looked down at her, and raised an eyebrow. "Why are you looking at me? Have I gotten even more handsome?"

Pei Xi chuckled, "Is that even a question? My brother gets more handsome every day."

Pei Zhi laughed, reaching out to pat her head, calling her "cheeky," but his expression clearly showed he enjoyed it.

He doesn't seem to care much when others compliment his looks.

But Pei Xi complimented him on his good looks, and he truly appreciated it.

This means that the aura surrounding his older brother has grown even stronger in Pei Xi's mind.

Pei Zhi clicked his tongue lightly, raising his eyebrows slightly, "You should be secretly happy to have such a handsome brother."

Pei Xi took his arm and shook her head, "Why would I secretly rejoice? I'll openly rejoice."

Pei Zhi chuckled, unable to suppress the smile that had been coaxed into coming out.

It took them almost twenty minutes to get home by taxi, and by then it was completely dark.

Pei Zhi opened the door and went straight upstairs to his room to take a hot shower.

The two rooms were on opposite sides of the staircase. Pei Xi turned right and walked in the opposite direction.

Just as Pei Xi reached the bedroom door, he suddenly stopped in his tracks.

At the end of the corridor, a narrow crack in the study allowed a faint light to filter through.

Pei Xi's heart skipped a beat, and she walked over quietly.

Then he slowly pushed the door open.

When she saw the person sitting inside, her eyes widened in disbelief.
