Pei Zhi felt embarrassed that he had cried.
He didn't even know when the last time he shed tears was.
Even as Pei Xi escorted him back to his room, he kept emphasizing that the tears were falling uncontrollably from his eyes and were not his intention.
Pei Xi could only respond with "okay, okay."
Pei Zhi found her perfunctory, clicked his tongue several times, and ruffled her hair.
Then he carefully tidied her hair, strand by strand.
Pei Xi looked up at him, then suddenly said seriously, "Brother, I think there's something I forgot to tell you."
"Hmm?" Pei Zhi paused.
"Do you know why I've never blamed my mother?" Pei Xi asked instead of answering.
Even though she was the one who got hurt, she never blamed anyone.
Even though her father passed away and her mother wasn't home often, she never felt lonely or afraid.
"Why?" Pei Zhi asked.
Pei Xi blinked, "Because my mother has given me the most precious gift in the world, a unique existence that no amount of money can buy."
"What?" Pei Zhi's Adam's apple bobbed slightly.
“You,” Pei Xi said with a smile.
She hugged Pei Zhi's arm, nuzzling her face affectionately, just like when she was a child, and clung to him sweetly, "He's my brother, the best brother in the whole world."
Comparison is the thief that steals happiness.
Whether in her studies or in life, she only ever looks at what she has.
She didn't want to be too greedy.
Because she felt that she was already very happy, very happy, very happy.
Pei Zhi let Pei Xi lean on his arm. He looked down at her, his palm gently covering her hair, his gaze as tender as water.
He silently murmured to himself, "You too."
The most precious gift in the world, a unique existence that cannot be bought with any amount of money.
It's a baby my mother gave me.
Because of you, all my grievances and sadness can be wiped away.
Just then, Pei Xi looked up at the window and exclaimed, "Brother, it's snowing outside!"
She excitedly patted his arm; the first snow that the weather forecast had predicted had just quietly arrived.
Bathed in the light of the streetlights, fine snowflakes fluttered down, shimmering with a golden glow.
Winter has truly arrived.
"I'm going to get my phone to take pictures!" Pei Xi's eyes lit up with joy. She let go of Pei Zhi's arm and rushed back to her room to get her phone, then notified Shen Miaoyi.
After notifying Shen Miaoyi, she exited the chat page and saw the very fitting snow scene avatar.
She sent a message.
"What are you doing?"
Then another message was sent.
"It's snowing outside, did you see?"
The other end quickly replied: "I saw it."
A few seconds later, another message came through, seemingly adding, "It looks great."
Pei Xi smiled at the screen, seemingly imagining the scene where Jiang Cheng felt that simply answering "I saw it" was too dry, so he frowned and added another sentence.
"Do you like snow?" she asked.
"I like it," Jiang Cheng replied.
Pei Xi continued typing, "I like it too. I like the feeling of walking in the snow, and I like stepping on snow that no one has ever stepped on before. It feels really good."
This time, Jiang Cheng didn't reply as quickly. He seemed unsure of what to say and typed for a long time, which Pei Xi waited for.
Then she saw him say, "I don't like snow, I like winter."
Pei Xi was taken aback, then asked, "Why?"
Jiang Cheng seems to have fallen into a problem again.
She stared at her phone screen for a long time before finally seeing his reply: "Because there will be Santa Claus in winter."
Pei Xi looked at the dialog box, checked it several times, and then smiled without any defenses.
What's going on? This person is so nonsensical.
