[Random thoughts after finishing the story, very fragmented]

It's finally over.

I feel like everyone else is rambling on and on, so I'll ramble on a bit too. [laughs]

This book has been serialized on and off for so long, I'm really reluctant to give it up.

As I said in my introduction, I want to write characters full of love and complete a story, rather than leaving it in a messy and unfinished way.

This is my goal, I want to work hard to achieve it, and I am working hard to do so.

I love every adorable character in the story.

Xibao, Chengge, Peizhi, Miaomiao, Yufei, Shichen, Mom, Grandma...

There are also Tian Tian, Chen Liang, Yu Shu, Da Fan, Zhu Yuan, Brother Jiang... and so on. These are characters whose screen time is not that much.

I like them all very much.

Overall, I'm quite satisfied with this story; it's more complete than any of my previous stories.

It's hard to stop here. Sometimes before I start writing, I'll randomly flip to a chapter to see what they're doing. As I look at them, I feel like they're really alive and well.

As soon as you open this book and look at the cover, they will suddenly come alive in your mind, as if you have suddenly entered their world.

That's part of the novel's charm.

So even though the story has ended, I hope everyone will not forget them. Occasionally, turn to a chapter and come back to see them, see Xi Bao, see Cheng Ge, and see the adorable Pei Zhi.

Ha ha.

Next, I'd like to share a feeling I had while writing this book.

That is about the characterization of the female lead, Xi Bao.

I've said before that Xi Bao, Cheng Ge, and Gege are all equally important, and I put a lot of effort into portraying them all. But in the end, Xi Bao is different.

She is the absolute protagonist, and the entire story revolves around her.

She is not in a world with supernatural abilities, nor in a world of exaggerated dramatic logic; the worldview of this story is the closest to our ordinary real life.

In this world, the female protagonist has no innate superpowers or special abilities, and all her actions must follow realistic logic rather than the logic of wish fulfillment stories. In this case, how to write about her charm is a question I need to consider.

I don't want people to only praise the male protagonist after reading a book, while ignoring the female protagonist.

I don't want to put eight parts of my effort and enthusiasm into imagining the male lead, but only two parts into imagining the female lead.

I don't want the female lead to be just a useless, insignificant character.

Instead, she hopes that everyone will genuinely praise her and fall in love with her from the bottom of their hearts.

However, I need to seriously consider how to write such a female protagonist in a romance story that doesn't feature a decisive and ruthless female lead.

To be honest, for many creators (regardless of gender), creating a male protagonist that people love madly is a very familiar thing.

Therefore, I think that exploring how to create female protagonists and other female characters is a task I need to continue to work on in the future.

When I was halfway through writing, and even when I was almost struggling with whether the female lead was too sensible, never had a temper, or was too "altruistic," I received some comments.

Some people said the female lead was stupid, useless, incapable of doing anything but relying on others to save her, that her kindness towards the male lead was "that's all?", and suggested that the male lead should just be with his brother... These were all completely unexpected and surprising opinions.

I now understand what it truly means to be unable to please everyone.

I started to wonder why it was always the female lead who was criticized.

I started to wonder why, in a story centered around the female lead, she would be so easily discarded to pursue someone else.

Is it really my fault? Is it because I didn't portray the female lead well enough, which is why everyone is criticizing her, blaming her, and ignoring her?

But I really didn't favor one over the other. I really poured a lot of love into the female lead. I really love her.

As mentioned earlier, within the logic of the real world, how to portray girls in a charming way while preserving their physical weaknesses is what I need to study.

So I know that love alone is not enough; I really need to hone my skills.

At the same time, I also clearly felt that everyone's values and standards were different when watching the story.

As I mentioned in the introduction, reading books is all about fate. It's not just about superficial things like writing style and setting; the clash of values is also very important.

Especially in today's society where values are clashing intensely.

Therefore, my "reading guide" has been revised countless times, with many things added and removed. (It's roughly called "layering armor" in Chinese).

Therefore, I will provide explanations for some controversial plot points.

I'm still struggling with whether doing this was the right thing to do.

Does explanation really help?

Should authors refrain from elaborating on topics other than writing articles?

I think I might gradually get rid of this bad habit in the future.

One should not expect to be understood or recognized by everyone, nor should one be overly self-satisfied.

All I need to do is stick to my principles and attract those who resonate with me.

I hope I can do better in my next book, keep improving, and continue to create lovable and charismatic characters.

Throughout the creative process, everyone's positive feedback gave me tremendous comfort and encouragement, and I am truly grateful.

I also want to thank and apologize to the readers who have been following my updates. Thank you all for tolerating my irregular and inconsistent updates. For my next book, I want to consistently update 4,000 words every day. I'm setting a goal for myself!

Finally, I hope I can start my new book this month. Cheer me on, hahaha.

Love you all!!
