Chapter 100 I'm Not Going to Reason Anymore
Inside the VIP box, the layout of the huge U-shaped sofa was bizarre.
Yan Shuang and Du Yunchuan stood side by side on one side, their heads bowed like two schoolchildren awaiting trial, not daring to utter a sound.
Directly opposite them sat Shang Qiuzhu alone. He leaned back slightly, his arm casually draped over the back of the sofa, his gaze sweeping coldly over the two of them.
The oppressive aura emanating from him almost filled the entire private room, completely dispelling the previous atmosphere of ambiguous revelry.
Allen, the stripper who caused all the trouble, stood somewhat helplessly in the small stage area in the center of the room, unsure whether to go in or back, his professional smile almost crumbling.
He had never encountered such a strange private performance venue.
An eerie silence permeated the private room, with only the background music continuing to play incongruously.
Finally, Shangqiu Zhu spoke.
Why aren't you looking?
He raised an eyebrow slightly, his gaze falling on the two people opposite him who were cowering like quails.
Look.
He raised his chin, gesturing to Allen who was standing in front of him.
Du Yunchuan's heart skipped a beat, as if he could already see his bright future of being sent to the African branch to develop business.
really.
"Du Yunchuan," Shangqiu Zhu said, using his full name, "who gave you the audacity to bring her to a place like this?!"
Du Yunchuan's scalp tingled, and he immediately retorted, "Old Shang, let me explain. We just came out to relax, have a few drinks, and watch a show..."
"Relax?" Shangqiu Zhu narrowed his eyes, his voice incredibly deep and terrifying: "Coming to a place like this to relax? What the hell are you doing here?"
"Really, she absolutely didn't do anything else. I swear on my integrity. I saw her; she didn't let anyone touch her, not even a single hair. She's as real as gold..."
"I asked you to check on her, and you brought her to this smoky, polluted place? Can you vouch for her? If something really happens, you'll barely be able to protect yourself, let alone her. Has your brain been soaked in alcohol, or was it slammed in a door?"
The harsh rebukes came down mercilessly, and Du Yunchuan was so scolded that he dared not raise his head, inwardly groaning.
Seeing Du Yunchuan being scolded so harshly, Yan Shuang quickly stood up and stood in front of him, saying, "It has nothing to do with him. I wanted to see it. I asked him to bring me here."
After he finished speaking, the private room fell into a deathly silence.
Du Yunchuan abruptly turned to look at Yan Shuang, inwardly screaming: Little darling! Why are you making things worse now?! You're not protecting me, you're adding fuel to the fire!
Sure enough, the temperature inside the private room seemed to drop another ten degrees.
With a gloomy face, Shangqiu Zhu reached out and grabbed Yan Shuang's wrist, practically lifting her up and pulling her to his side.
Having subdued the culprit, Shangqiu Zhu once again turned his gaze to the stunned Du Yunchuan.
"She's young and doesn't know any better, and you don't either? You just let her go crazy and even joined in the commotion? Is this the kind of place she should be in?"
Shangqiu Zhu waved his hand, pointing to the faint commotion coming from outside the private room, "How many pairs of ill-intentioned eyes are hiding here? What might happen after a glass of wine? Du Yunchuan, tell me, can you bear the consequences?"
Du Yunchuan nodded and bowed repeatedly: "Yes, yes, yes! I was wrong! Master Shang! I was terribly wrong! Dad!!"
Shangqiu Zhu's anger flared even more. "Get out! Get out of here right now!"
Du Yunchuan felt as if he had been granted a pardon, and dared not linger any longer. He practically scrambled towards the door of the private room, giving Yan Shuang a look that said "good luck" before he left.
In an instant, only Shang Qiuzhu, Yan Shuang whose wrist he was holding tightly, and Allen, the stripper who had already turned to stone, remained in the private room.
Shangqiu Zhu's icy gaze swept over Allen, and she uttered only one word: "Get lost."
Allen didn't dare linger for even a second and practically ran away from this terrifying place of trouble.
The door was gently closed.
Yan Shuang sat next to Shang Qiuzhu, listening to his accusations against Du Yunchuan, and felt a bittersweet warmth welling up inside her.
Of course she could tell that behind every word he said when he scolded Du Yunchuan, he was worried about her.
But wasn't it a bit too much for him to act as if she had committed an unforgivable crime, and even to scold Du Yunchuan so mercilessly?
She lowered her head and spoke almost instinctively.
"...You can come to a place like this by yourself, but we can't?"
It's unreasonable to say that officials are allowed to set fires while ordinary people are forbidden to light lamps.
Shangqiu Zhu was so angry he laughed.
He looked at her dress, still bearing the scent of revelry, and her cheeks flushed from alcohol and excitement.
Her eyes were wet, glistening with a slightly tipsy light. Her gaze held a hint of bewilderment, a touch of grievance after being scolded, and a dash of unrestrained liveliness that belonged to the night.
Her every glance exudes a breathtaking allure.
Shangqiu Zhu's temples throbbed with veins. With so many men around, she had the audacity to make herself look like this smug, oblivious ghost.
"I'm here in the private business meeting room on the top floor. We're discussing a nine-figure contract. You're here in a strip club on the ground floor that's all show and no substance. Can you call that the same thing?"
He suppressed his surging anger and gritted his teeth, ordering, "From now on, you stay away from Du Yunchuan."
Upon hearing this, Yan Shuang retorted without thinking, "Isn't it because you made him keep an eye on me?"
"..."
Shangqiu Zhu was so taken aback by those words that he stopped in his tracks, and his face turned even more unpleasant.
Seeing his speechless and frustrated expression, Yan Shuang felt a little relieved, but also a little amused.
I couldn't help but laugh.
Shangqiu Zhu's gaze swept down instantly.
Yan Shuang immediately realized something was wrong and quickly covered her mouth, but the smile in her eyes had not completely disappeared.
Looking at Shangqiu Zhu's face, which was so dark it was almost dripping with water, she knew she had made a mistake again and could only promise:
"I will never come here again."
She paused, then added, "Really, there's nothing to see. None of those people have your figure."
As soon as he finished speaking, there was an eerie silence in the private room, with only the faint electronic music playing in the background.
Shangqiu Zhu didn't speak immediately, and there was no obvious anger on his face. But it was this extreme calmness that made Yan Shuang's hair stand on end.
An almost instinctive sense of crisis suddenly shot up my spine.
Yan Shuang subconsciously swallowed, subtly shifted her body back half an inch, and forced a dry laugh: "Well, I see it's getting late, should I head back first? You, don't you still have things to do?"
She spoke faster, and as she spoke, she stood up and tried to slip away.
"I won't bother you any longer, you go ahead and do your work..."
Before the last syllable of the word "busy" had even finished, his wrist suddenly tightened.
An irresistible force struck, and in the dizzying moment, she cried out as she was pulled off balance by a powerful force. The next second, she landed solidly on his lap.
"Uh..." Yan Shuang bumped into his solid chest, a little dazed, and tried to prop herself up in a flustered manner.
An iron arm immediately wrapped around her waist, holding her firmly in place, making her unable to move.
Shangqiu Zhu lowered his head, somewhat helpless.
"Yan Shuang, have I spoiled you too much?"
His words seemed to be directed at her, but also at himself.
You can't hit them, you can't scold them.
I couldn't bear to say a word.
He throws a tantrum and rebels whenever I mention it, even trying to run away from home like other kids.
Now it's even more outrageous, they're coming to see male stripper performances.
Yan Shuang was actually very guilty, but why did Shang Qiuzhu say that he was indulging her? It was clearly more his fault.
She immediately raised her head and retorted without backing down: "So you're right to throw a tantrum without even knowing what happened?"
She even tried to break free from his embrace slightly, attempting to gain some momentum, but to no avail.
"All you do is use your aura to intimidate people. You only believe what you see and won't listen to my explanations. Yes, you are powerful, you are the bamboo of Shangqiu, and everyone is afraid of you, but you can't be unreasonable, can you?"
Yan Shuang raised her voice a little higher than before, and the more she spoke, the more convinced she became of her point.
"I'm being unreasonable?" Shang Qiuzhu pinched her cheek in anger, but the soft touch inexplicably calmed his anger down. "If I were really being unreasonable, I should have taken you back and locked you up, and then we'd see how you would run around like that."
"I didn't run around recklessly..." Yan Shuang muttered softly, "What do you mean by 'indulgent' or 'indulgent'? It's like it's all my fault."
She even raised her finger and poked his hard chest, though not with much force, the gesture was quite meaningful.
Shangqiu Zhu looked at her flushed cheeks, her bright eyes filled with "You're being unreasonable," and the finger poking his chest seemed more like a tickle.
He found that his negotiating skills and intimidation, which were invincible in the business world, were completely ineffective in front of her.
He grabbed her hand that was wriggling against his chest, held it in his palm, and gently squeezed it.
"So, it was my fault after all?"
His tone was unreadable, but the menacing aura emanating from him had quietly dissipated.
"...At least it wasn't entirely my fault. You...you were also at fault."
She paused, then added softly, a hint of reluctant confession in her voice: "Of course... I also have a tiny... tiny bit of something going on..."
Shang Qiuzhu's eyes darkened. He found her increasingly adorable as she argued vehemently, her eyes revealing her guilt yet she forced herself to remain calm, trying to straighten her back and defend herself.
He watched her lips open and close as she recounted his crimes, but he couldn't hear a word of her reasoning.
“Yes, you’re right.” Shangqiu Zhu interrupted her, readily admitting her mistake, “I’m being unreasonable.”
All I want to do is kiss you.
Yan Shuang was still trying to maintain her "I'm in the right" aura when, unexpectedly, he held the back of her head and his warm lips covered hers, swallowing up all her voices and protests.
"Hmm..."
Yan Shuang was taken aback at first, then obediently closed her eyes, her arms involuntarily climbing up his neck, enduring the kiss filled with complex emotions, and even cautiously responding.
It was this subtle response that dispelled the last vestiges of anger that Shangqiu Zhu had.
The club's loud music was shut out.
The air temperature is rising steadily.
Yan Shuang was held in Shang Qiuzhu's arms. Her brain gradually became oxygen-deprived, and her hands and feet went weak. She could only lean on him.
Just as they were lost in their passion, a sudden buzzing vibration shattered the enchanting atmosphere.
It was Shangqiu Zhu's cell phone, which was in the inside pocket of his suit, vibrating persistently.
Yan Shuang suddenly came to her senses, remembering that they were still in the club's private room, and that he might have dropped everything to come over. She hurriedly tried to get out of his arms.
Shangqiu Zhu frowned slightly. He pulled Yan Shuang back into his arms and hugged her tighter before slowly taking out his phone with one hand.
"Speak." His voice instantly returned to its usual cold and steady tone, without a trace of the emotion he had just displayed.
Yan Shuang leaned against him and heard a muffled male voice coming from the other end of the phone. Shang Qiuzhu occasionally responded briefly with "Mm" or "I know".
Finally, Shangqiu Zhu hung up the phone and casually tossed it onto the sofa.
Yan Shuang immediately seemed to have received a pardon, and gently nudged him: "You must have important things to do, right? Go on ahead. I'll go back by myself first."
He then got up again.
Shangqiu Zhu's arm, however, seemed welded to her waist, remaining completely still.
"Where are we going?" He looked down at her, the coldness in his eyes from when he answered the phone fading, replaced by her signature languidness. "Let's go up together."
"Huh?" Yan Shuang was taken aback, then quickly shook her head. "No, no, you two are having serious business, it wouldn't be convenient for me to go. I'll wait for you downstairs? Or I can go home first..."
"Inconvenient?" Shangqiu Zhu raised an eyebrow. "What's inconvenient? You sit over there and do your thing, lest someone sneak you off to see some random stuff if I'm not looking."
These words were pointed, clearly indicating that Du Yunchuan's score was not yet settled.
"I really won't watch it again..." Yan Shuang promised.
“I’m worried.” Shangqiu Zhu interrupted her, her tone leaving no room for argument, making a direct conclusion, “Be a good girl and come up with me.”
She pouted, knowing she couldn't win against him, and could only compromise softly: "...Alright then."
Shang Qiuzhu then put his arm around her waist and stood up, straightening the shirt and suit that she had gripped so tightly that they were slightly wrinkled.
He reverted to his aloof and arrogant demeanor as the CEO of the Shang Group, only his tight grip on Yan Shuang's hand revealing an unyielding possessiveness.
Yan Shuang was led outside by him, her face still flushed.
