Chapter 71 You owe me far too much.

Chapter 71 You owe me far too much.

A black Maybach was already waiting quietly in the driveway in front of the villa. Lin Sheng stood beside the car and respectfully opened the door.

Du Yunchuan walked over yawning and instinctively tried to squeeze into the back row.

The moment his fingers touched the car door handle, he felt a cold gaze.

Looking up, Du Yunchuan met Shang Qiuzhu's eyes. The gaze was calm and undisturbed, yet it instantly brought him to his senses.

"Ah ha..." Du Yunchuan chuckled dryly, tapped his finger lightly on the car door, and turned to walk towards the passenger seat. "The weather is really nice today. I'll sit in the front and enjoy the scenery."

When Yan Shuang walked over carrying the file bag, all she saw was Du Yunchuan's back as he quickly got into the passenger seat.

Shangqiu Zhu stood by the car door and calmly took the file bag from her hand.

Du Yunchuan saw this scene through the rearview mirror and couldn't help but smile.

He recalled the way that slender waistline pressed him against the table. Who would have thought that the aloof and unattainable CEO would be so passionate when it came to love?

He pulled out his phone and secretly sent a message to his friends' group chat: "I've witnessed history, brothers..."

The Maybach drove smoothly away from the villa area, completely unaware of the low-key dark gray Bentley parked not far behind.

Lin Chengyu sat in the driver's seat, his eyes fixed on the luxury car that was driving away.

His face was sharply defined, and his eyes were incredibly dark.

At the banquet last night, Yan Shuang said she went to the restroom and never came back.

He later asked the waiter and learned that she had left with Shangqiu Zhu.

He knew that Shang Qiuzhu was not only her sister's fiancé, but also her boss.

But leaving without saying goodbye is really unlike Yan Shuang's usual style.

His gaze fell on the figures that were vaguely visible in the back of the Maybach.

This morning, he waited outside the villa and saw Yan Shuang and Shang Qiuzhu come out together, along with other colleagues.

But the vague unease in my heart lingered.

Lin Chengyu sighed softly, started the car, and slowly followed.

The Maybach in front stopped at a red light, and Lin Chengyu also stepped on the brake.

As the green light turned on, the Maybach gracefully accelerated and drove away.

Lin Chengyu hesitated for a moment, then turned on his turn signal and drove in the opposite direction.

......

At noon, in the president's office of the Shang Group, a huge LCD screen was broadcasting a live emergency press conference from Cree Energy Canada.

"Dear media friends, thank you for joining us at the last minute for our product launch." On the screen, Cree's CEO smiled confidently, and the large screen behind him lit up, showing a 3D model of a new energy storage system slowly rotating.

Du Yunchuan sat up abruptly.

On the screen, Cree's CTO is giving a detailed introduction to the system architecture: "Our core technology uses a quantum encryption algorithm, which can achieve millisecond-level charge/discharge switching while ensuring absolute data security..."

The camera switched to the product demonstration segment. When Du Yunchuan saw the unique blue-green energy conversion interface, he immediately stood up: "Holy crap! Even the UI is exactly the same as our beta version!"

The most lethal blow came from the final parameter display:

"System error rate 0.00015%," Cree's engineers proudly announced.

Du Yunchuan's face was serious, and his tone was gloomy: "Qiu Zhu, this is no coincidence. Quantum encryption algorithms, millisecond-level switching technology, and even system error rate—these are all our core secrets!"

Shangqiu Zhu leaned against his desk, staring coldly at the screen.

This is the final data that the R&D department just adjusted early yesterday morning; it hasn't even been reported to the board of directors yet.

Du Yunchuan continued, "Besides our senior management, only..." He paused, his sharp gaze fixed on Shang Qiuzhu, "...the Yan family."

Shangqiu Zhu's eyes were unfathomable.

Du Yunchuan slammed his fist on the sofa armrest. "I just left, and he dares to do something like this? It seems his appetite has grown too big; he even dares to undermine the foundation of this project. Has he gone mad? We should immediately expose the evidence that he used the Shang family to smuggle rare earths and let this old fox rot in jail!"

He took out his phone and dialed Yan Zhenye's number, while impatiently loosening his tie with his other hand.

The phone was dialed once, twice... but no one answered.

"He's probably sleeping," Shangqiu Zhu said calmly.

Du Yunchuan looked up in disbelief. Even at a time like this, he could still remain so calm and composed.

Shangqiu Zhu walked back to his desk and reached out to press the internal phone button.

"The Ministry of Justice brought a cross-border litigation team to my office this afternoon. They prepared three plans: First, to prosecute Cree Canada for commercial espionage and apply for a global sales ban; second, to freeze all cash flows from Hong Kong New Energy's cooperation; third," he paused, "to contact Director Wang of the General Administration of Customs."

After hanging up the phone, Shangqiu Zhu turned to the computer and typed out a series of smooth commands on the mechanical keyboard.

A terminal interface with a black background and green text pops up, and data scrolls like a waterfall.

"Secondary encryption complete," the mechanical female voice announced calmly. "All access permissions have been reset."

"You personally oversee the technical department and completely replace the original core code," Shang Qiuzhu said in a low, slow voice.

Du Yunchuan instantly understood. He grabbed his suit jacket and said, "Don't worry, this time I'll make sure they can't even analyze the residue."

He opened the solid wood door to the office and bumped right into Yan Shuang, who was about to enter.

The two stood frozen at the door for a second. Yan Shuang keenly sensed that the atmosphere in the office was surprisingly low. The person who had been smiling and calling her "Little Shuang Sister" that morning now had a smile on his lips, but the smile did not reach his eyes.

Hearing footsteps, Shangqiu Zhu stood up and said to her calmly, "Shall we eat?"

The only sound in the office was the occasional clinking of cutlery.

They usually eat quietly, but today's silence was unusual.

Shangqiu Zhu held the ebony chopsticks, even his movements of picking up food were slower than usual, as if he was thinking about something.

Yan Shuang wisely refrained from disturbing them, quietly took out her phone from her pocket, and put on her Bluetooth earphones.

It was a meeting discussion that Mark recorded for her yesterday. In the video, team members were explaining the new financial architecture model.

One technical jargon after another came out, making Yan Shuang frown.

She lowered her head to drink her soup when she suddenly felt a gaze fall on her. She looked up and found that a man who had been neglected had put down his chopsticks and was looking at her.

"What are you listening to?"

Yan Shuang handed over the video.

Shangqiu Zhu pressed the speakerphone button.

Mark's voice immediately came through: "...So the third layer of this financial structure..."

Before ten seconds had even passed, Shangqiu Zhu turned off the audio. "This model has a problem; you've overlooked liquidity risk."

Yan Shuang immediately put down her chopsticks, pricked up her ears, and listened attentively.

As Shangqiu Zhu explained things in a simple and easy-to-understand way, the confusion in Yan Shuang's eyes gradually dissipated.

Shangqiu Zhu looked down into the girl's bright eyes, which were filled with undisguised admiration and joy.

She gave an exaggerated thumbs-up, "President Shang, you are truly my idol!"

Sunlight pierced through the clouds outside the window and fell directly on Yan Shuang's slightly upturned face.

"Let's eat." His tone remained indifferent, but a barely perceptible smile appeared at the corner of his eye.
