Chapter 81 Our Friendship Over the Years
The car door opened and closed again, and Yan Shuang's figure disappeared at the entrance.
The vehicle remained stationary for a moment before silently turning around in the darkness and driving back to the club.
Inside the VIP room, Du Yunchuan was lounging on the leather sofa playing games when he caught a glimpse of Yan You sitting in the corner, staring intently at the wine glass in front of her.
The door was pushed open, and Shangqiu Zhu walked in, exuding a chill.
Yan You suddenly looked up and rushed over as if grasping at a lifeline.
"Qiu Zhu!" She grabbed his arm. "Did that girl seduce you? Did she use some underhanded means to force you? Tell me! You must have been deceived by her! Right?"
Shangqiu Zhu coldly withdrew her hand and walked straight toward the bar.
"That girl is a born slut! A whore! She's had a seductive look since she was little, and she's a master at playing the victim and seducing people! Don't be fooled by her innocent appearance!"
Shangqiu Zhu stopped in his tracks.
He slowly turned around, and the chill surging in his eyes seemed to make the temperature in the entire private room drop suddenly.
Du Yunchuan silently put down the game console and cautiously leaned back on the sofa.
Yan You, however, was still not giving up, and continued hysterically, "She pretends to be so innocent, but who knows how many men she's been with behind the scenes..."
"Bang!"
A loud noise interrupted her foul language.
Shangqiu Zhu kicked over the heavy solid wood low table next to him! The wine glasses, fruit plate and ashtray on it crashed to the ground.
He approached Yan You step by step, looking down at her. The huge height difference and the oppressive feeling made Yan You retreat repeatedly until she had nowhere left to go.
“If I hear you utter another single word against her,” he said in a chillingly soft voice, “I will make you, and the Yan family, disappear completely from this world.”
Yan You trembled all over, but still forced herself to lift her head, her voice shrill: "I didn't slander her! She's not a virgin anymore, you know that?! You can get it checked if you don't believe me! She's a piece of trash!!"
Shangqiu Zhu's eyes darkened as the image of that night in the Maldives flashed through his mind.
His gaze became distant at that moment.
Just a few months later, when I think back to that night shrouded in drugs and lies, my feelings are completely different.
That chaotic night had long since become an inescapable part of his life.
He remained silent for a long time, so long that Yan You thought he had finally listened, and hope rekindled in her eyes.
Then, he spoke slowly, his voice low and hoarse, carrying a chilling calm: "Speaking of this..."
He paused for a moment, then said, "I should thank you, shouldn't I?"
Yan You froze, her pupils dilating in confusion: "Wh...what do you mean?"
“Without your filthy soup,” he swallowed, “how could I be here with her now?”
If it weren't for that unforeseen turn of events that night...
He now just imagines that his world might not have her, and that there might not be any entanglements or subsequent possibilities, and his heart feels like it's being crushed by a thousand pounds.
So at this moment, his gaze towards Yan You even carried a hint of cruelly sincere gratitude.
Yan You was struck dumb, completely frozen in place. Their biggest secret... he actually knew it?!
"Did Yanshuang tell you?! Did that bitch turn the tables on you?!" she screamed, refusing to believe it.
Shangqiu Zhu's impatience and disgust were almost tangible, as if speaking even a single word to her would be a defilement.
“I didn’t come here tonight to listen to your madness,” he interrupted her screams. “I’m telling you clearly, stay away from her. Put away your ridiculous thoughts and vicious schemes, don’t bother her, and don’t touch her.”
“You should pray day and night that she is safe and sound, unharmed. If she loses even a single hair, or suffers even the slightest discomfort,” he said in the calmest tone, uttering the most terrifying words, “I will repay you tenfold, a hundredfold, and you know I mean what I say.”
"And stop sending her those disgusting texts." He gave her one last disgusted look. "She's busy, she doesn't have time for trash."
Of course, what he didn't say was that the Shang family's top cybersecurity team had already set up the highest level of protection on all of Yan Shuang's devices, making it impossible for any phone calls or messages from the Yan family to be delivered.
Having said that, he didn't want to stay in that disgusting space for even a second longer. He turned and walked out, coldly leaving behind only:
"Du Yunchuan, take her to the airport."
"I'm going back to China tonight."
Yan You's face was deathly pale, as if she were a ghost. Her last ounce of strength was drained, but as Shang Qiuzhu passed by, she suddenly mustered her last burst of power and rushed forward, trying to grab his arm: "Shang Qiuzhu! You can't do this to me! I'm your fiancée! We've been together for so many years..."
"mutual affection?"
Shangqiu Zhu didn't turn around. He repeated those two words, his tone carrying an undeniable sarcasm.
"Don't you understand yet? There has never been any so-called affection between us. There wasn't before, and there won't be in the future. The only person by my side from beginning to end will always be Yan Shuang."
His words were devoid of any emotion, only a resolute and cold ultimatum.
"The reason you're standing here unharmed isn't because I'm merciful, but simply because you and she share that pitiful blood relation. So recognize your place, cherish this favor I'm bestowing upon you because of her, and stop trying to test my limits."
Yan You froze in mid-air, unable to utter a single syllable.
Shangqiu Zhu did not linger any longer, and his figure disappeared outside the private room.
Du Yunchuan sighed, resignedly stood up, picked up his coat, and walked over.
