Ask her for a talk

Ask her for a talk

Zuo Xiao was woken up from his nap.

The doorbell kept ringing tirelessly, making her kick at the air in anger.

She jumped out of bed and put on a cardigan. When she angrily opened the door, her roommate Eric had already arrived at the door.

The door opened, and Eric and the visitor looked at each other:

The other person is about 1.8 meters tall, has a double-door refrigerator, and has a delicate and refreshing face. He looks very similar to the very popular Taiwanese dog-style boyfriend.

Chen Liqing's eyes widened in surprise as he looked at the yellow-haired man in front of him who was shirtless and wearing only a pair of boxer briefs.

"Who are you?" they both asked at the same time, one full of anticipation, the other in an unhappy tone.

"Chen Liqing?" Zuo Xiao took two steps forward. "What are you doing here?"

"Oh, your friend." Eric made way for her, his eyes still on Chen Liqing's face. Chen Liqing glared at him and walked straight into the house.

"Hey, take off your shoes!"

Zuo Xiao gave the order, and Chen Liqing immediately retracted one foot, took off his sneakers, and followed her into the room in his white socks.

This wasn't the first time Chen Liqing had come to Zuo Xiao's house. He'd come to help the very day she rented the apartment, though he'd only called two workers and stood by to direct their work. But the last time he'd come back, there was clearly a woman living in the second bedroom. So where had that man just now come from?

Zuo Xiao treated him like air, threw away his cardigan and lay down on the bed: "You woke me up."

"Who told you to block me?"

Chen Liqing sat down on the only chair. The room was only about 20 square meters, and Zuo Xiao had a lot of stuff: two guitars, a bookshelf full of novels, a pile of quirky bags and accessories, and a desk completely cluttered with a large monitor, a notebook, a keyboard, a drawing tablet, an e-ink reader, plush toys, and more. The pigeon cage was fine for a girl like her, but with a grown man like him in, the space suddenly felt cramped.

He casually picked up the Shiba Inu head-shaped massage hammer on the table and tapped his shoulders while asking, "Who was that guy just now?"

"Roommate." Zuo Xiao closed his eyes and answered lazily.

"Isn't your roommate a woman? Did she undergo a sex change?"

"The guy changed jobs and moved away."

"...Then you'll let a man live in here?"

"It's okay, he doesn't like women."

"You believe what he says? Then I still say I'm Batman!"

"If you don't believe me, take off your clothes and go to his room to see if he's hard."

“…You rascal!”

Zuo Xiao was annoyed by his nagging and turned his back to him: "If you have something to say, say it. If not, get out of here right away and don't disturb my sleep."

Chen Liqing's gaze fell on her waist, moving all the way down until it touched the smooth, white thighs beneath her nightgown. He felt a sudden burn. He quickly moved away and said, "Your mother is traveling to Beijing with her new boyfriend."

"Oh." Zuo Xiao didn't seem to care. "I didn't hear her say that. How did you know?"

"I introduced her to her boyfriend." Chen Liqing said with a smile.

"Chen Liqing, are you sick?" Zuo Xiao turned over and sat up. "Stretching your hands out like that, are you asking for a beating?"

"Come on, hit me." Chen Liqing grinned and stretched out his left hand, "Don't blame me if you hurt your hand later." As soon as he finished speaking, a pillow hit him in the face, and he smelled the slightly bitter scent of roses.

He grabbed the pillow and tucked it into his arms. "I didn't mean to introduce her to you. I was on a business trip to Kunming last month and had dinner with her. My senior brother happened to be there too, so we went out for dinner together. I only found out a couple of days ago that they're together."

Zuo Xiao rolled his eyes: "How old is your senior brother?"

"Three or four years older than me?" Chen Liqing winked. "Hey, age isn't a distance, and seniority isn't a problem! Just call me!"

Zuo Xiao curled his lips: "Is that all you have to say? Then you can get lost."

"Don't sleep anymore, let's go out and play," Chen Liqing suggested. "It's such a great time, staying indoors is such a waste! How about playing badminton and then seeing a show?"

Zuo Xiao thought for a moment and said, "Okay." He got out of bed and took out a set of sportswear from the closet. "Go to the bathroom. I need to change."

The two played basketball at a court near Chen Liqing's home, and Chen Liqing took her home to take a shower. Zuo Xiao changed into wide-leg jeans and a light, flowing white batwing top, looking effortlessly beautiful.

etc--

Chen Liqing's expression changed, and he pointed at her collarbone: "This isn't a gift from your lousy ex-boyfriend, is it? Is this the one?"

"Yeah. What's the matter?" Zuo Xiao lowered his head. The small red gourd pendant between his collarbone was as beautiful as ever.

"You're still wearing jewelry someone gave you after breaking up?" The other person looked disgusted. "Isn't that offensive?"

Zuo Xiao scoffed, "He's trash, and the necklace isn't, so why shouldn't he wear it? Besides, I gave him a gift in return, and it cost me a month's salary! Look at it another way, I bought it with my own money, too!"

"...Zuo Xiao, you are so ugly!" Chen Liqing turned around and walked away angrily.

The two had dinner and went to a live house to watch a performance.

The band was playing metal. Zuo Xiao loved metal music, but he hated being jostled and shoved, covered in sweat. Some of the guys, especially, were clearly malicious, preying on the girls. Fortunately, Chen Liqing, as always, protected him. This guy was only of some use at times like these: a good human barrier.

While having supper, Zuo Xiao's cell phone rang.

"Tomorrow is not possible, but the day after tomorrow is okay...in the evening? What time...is okay...Okay, I'll find a place."

She lowered her head and hung up the phone, then heard Chen Liqing ask, "Who is it?"

"A rich guy." She put her phone back in her bag. "Learn guitar and singing from me, 1,000 an hour. Awesome, right?"

Chen Liqing frowned: "Male?"

"A girl, a pretty red-haired girl."

Chen Liqing's expression relaxed a little: "Isn't this beautiful lady going to chase you?"

"It's hard to say." Zuo Xiao grabbed a skewer of grilled pork loin, "It seems a bit like that."

"Do you have a photo? Let me see." Chen Liqing smiled, "If she's really a beauty, please introduce her to me!"

"You wish! She's just an innocent little princess, don't mess with her."

"What do you mean by 'huohuo'?" Chen Liqing was dissatisfied, and the two started arguing again.

As we were chatting, the phone rang again.

"You're so busy every day." Chen Liqing said sarcastically, "I'm not as busy as you when I'm a boss!"

Zuo Xiao wiped his hands and took out his cell phone.

A strange caller from Beijing—a salesperson, perhaps? A loan or a sea view apartment?

"Hello?" I answered the phone while chewing chicken wings. I heard a cold male voice: "Is this Zuo Xiao?"

What kind of telemarketing company is this? How rude! Shouldn't she be called "Ms. Zuo"? She was displeased.

"Yes, who are you?"

"I'm Zhuang Yu'an, Zhuang Jinghao's older brother. We met yesterday."

Zuo Xiao opened his eyes wide, put down the chicken wings in his hand, and said coldly: "Oh. Is there something wrong?"

The other party paused and said, "I want to meet you to talk about my sister. Is tomorrow free for you?"

What can I talk to you about? Zuo Xiao complained in his heart, and said, "What state secrets? Can't I tell you over the phone?"

A sharp intake of breath echoed through the receiver, as if the other party had become angry at her words. Zuo Xiao felt a little proud: she had a natural knack for choking people to death with a single sentence. Except when facing shameless opponents like Chen Liqing who knew her inside and out, she rarely lost.

After a long pause, the other party said, "I want to negotiate a deal with you. How much you can gain or lose depends on the outcome of the negotiation."

What the hell? Zuo Xiao raised his eyelids, wanting to say he was sick, but then he was worried that he was the brother of the rich apprentice, and it would be bad to offend him openly, so he didn't say anything for a while.

The other party continued, "When you've thought it over, send me a message. You can decide the time and place."

The call was suddenly hung up, and she slammed the phone on the table.

Chen Liqing was stunned: "Who is it this time?"

"What a psychopath!" Zuo Xiao said angrily, "Don't mention it, let's eat skewers!"

The two of them buried their heads in their food for a while before Chen Liqing couldn't help but ask, "Who is this guy? He can make you so angry with just two sentences. He's quite capable. I need to learn from him."

Zuo Xiao told him to get out, but he refused to give in. She was annoyed and said to him:

"He's the brother of my rich apprentice. I don't know what's wrong with him. He dislikes me for no apparent reason and even wants to negotiate a deal with me face to face - what a mess!"

"Transaction?" Chen Liqing's mind was full of ideas. "Could it be that he wants to support you?"

"You're sick!" Zuo Xiao knew he was teasing her and nearly stabbed him in the face with the skewer in his hand. Chen Liqing shook his head, "One should be wary of others. You don't really want to talk to him, do you?"

"I haven't thought about it yet." She scoffed. "It's okay to talk. What if they really want to give me money? I seem to have good luck with money lately... But maybe they're here to accuse me."

"How do you say that?"

"You think my fees are too high?! I gave my young apprentice a lesson yesterday, from 3 to 6 p.m., which was less than an hour and a half. She transferred 3,000 yuan to me, and she wouldn't let me return it. Maybe her brother thinks I'm overcharging her?"

"It's quite cruel..."

"I didn't hold a knife to her neck! She insisted on giving me so much, what could I do? Besides, I did prepare my lessons seriously, didn't I? A minute on stage takes ten years of practice off stage. It doesn't mean I only spend an hour teaching..."

Zuo Xiao pondered this for a moment and said, "Do you think he'll ask me for a refund? Or bargain? It shouldn't be that... He lives in a big villa, so why would he owe me such a small amount of money?"

Chen Liqing frowned. "When are you going to have a face-to-face meeting? Call me."

"Oh!" Zuo Xiao raised his lip, "So it's you who wants to be kept."

"No... I'm afraid you'll run into a pervert! If I knock you out, you'll be in the basement when you wake up."

"Yeah, maybe he's a pervert... But how do you know so much? How many have you knocked out?"

In the end, Zuo Xiao decided to keep the appointment, which was set for 4 p.m. tomorrow at a coffee shop. Chen Liqing would be lying in ambush nearby, and if things went wrong, he would have to rush forward to block the attack.

Zuo Xiao felt a little excited when he thought about what might happen tomorrow: I haven't had a fight for a long time, so it wouldn't be bad to have one once in a while?
