Looking at Xu Nuo's thin face, Ye Linyan felt a pang of heartache.
But just thinking about those cold, biting words that came out of his mouth that night still makes my heart clench with pain...
Thinking of the ring that Xu Nuo had so disliked and thrown away, Ye Linyan felt that Xu Nuo was not worth her heartache at all!
As he turned to leave, Ye Linyan stopped in his tracks just as he closed the door.
After a pause, Ye Linyan opened the door halfway, letting some of the light from the corridor into the room.
Ye Linyan went downstairs, ate something casually in the restaurant, and then returned to his study.
Han Lu was clearing away the dishes, glancing up at the study on the second floor every now and then.
Ye Linyan still had a lot of official business to attend to, but as he sat in front of the computer, the thought of Xu Nuo sleeping next door distracted him.
Finally, Ye Linyan turned off the computer, left the study, and when he heard that there was still no movement from Xu Nuo's room, he went downstairs.
He sat on a high stool next to the liquor cabinet. In the past, the liquor cabinet and this small bar in this villa were just decorations. He promised that he would hardly drink at home and that he was not a heavy drinker.
Now, ever since Ye Congyan returned to China, he needs to drink several glasses of alcohol almost every night to fall asleep...
Han Lu saw Ye Linyan sit down in front of the liquor cabinet, arranged the cut fruit on a plate, brought it over, and stood behind the bar, her clear voice ringing out:
"Sir, would you like the same drink as yesterday?"
Ye Linyan nodded, offering no particular response to Han Lu's seemingly joking words, not even a smile.
Han Lu expertly mixed the drink and pushed it in front of Ye Linyan:
"Today, I'll treat you to a drink!"
Looking up at Han Lu's smiling eyes, Ye Linyan recalled that just over half a year ago, Xu Nuo would smile at him every day, his eyes practically disappearing into his teeth.
Have you chosen a school yet?
Ye Linyan picked up the cup and drank most of it in one gulp.
"I'm still choosing. You're so busy right now, so I'd like to put my studies aside and stay here to take care of you!"
Ye Linyan stroked the rim of the cup with one hand, his voice slightly displeased as he said:
"You're only twenty years old, you should go to school."
He downed the wine in his glass in one gulp and pushed the empty glass back to Han Lu:
“I brought you back so you could study, not so you could be my personal assistant.”
Han Lu mixed another drink, her eyes lowered in disappointment.
"Mr. Ye, why did you save me?"
Ye Linyan paused as he picked up the wine glass, recalling the scene of Han Lu crying when she was bullied.
At that moment, he recalled the memory of Xu Nuo crying with him when she went blind, and that's why he couldn't help but step in and save Han Lu.
"It's nothing, I just can't stand people bullying the weak."
Han Lu gave a soft "oh".
While at the border, Ye Linyan would come to the bar every day to drink the drinks she made. Until one day, to thank him for saving her, she smiled and folded a lucky star to give to him.
When he looked up and saw his canine teeth showing when he smiled, his face instantly darkened.
After that day, Ye Linyan never went to that bar again. When the people who had bullied him before saw that Ye Linyan was no longer going there, they bullied him even more. He finally made up his mind to quit his job there.
When he found Ye Linyan at the boxing ring, he chased after him and asked why he hadn't gone for a drink. Annoyed by his persistence, Ye Linyan coldly retorted:
I don't want to see your fangs!
Han Lu went to the dental clinic that same day and had the canine tooth that had been with him for twenty years pulled out.
Han Lu, who was lost in her memories, was brought back to reality by the empty wine glass that Ye Linyan pushed towards her. She quickly mixed another drink.
"At the age of twenty-something, one should be studying. Only by studying can one understand the ways of the world."
Ye Linyan got drunk very quickly today; he hasn't stopped smoking since he sat down here.
He spoke in a low voice, but Han Lu could still hear him clearly.
"Mr. Ye, you're a little drunk. Finish this drink and don't drink anymore!"
Ye Linyan chuckled softly a few times, took a drag of his cigarette, and continued:
"If you understand the principles of things, you won't be a heartless and untrustworthy person..."
He tilted his head back and poured the rest of the wine into his mouth, then pushed the empty glass back in front of Han Lu.
Han Lu had no choice but to mix another drink for Ye Linyan.
Holding the wine glass under the light, I looked through the liquid at the promised room on the second floor; everything seemed unreal…
After looking at it for a while, I felt a little dizzy, and my gaze fell on the severed finger.
"Mr. Ye, would you like me to help you back to your bedroom to rest?"
Han Lu looked at Ye Linyan's slightly swaying body and asked.
Ye Linyan looked at him, stared at him for a long while, and then spoke:
"Listen to me, study hard, and you won't say those... hurtful things! Or do those... hurtful things..."
After Ye Linyan finished speaking, he curled the corners of his mouth, and his drunken, hazy eyes made Han Lu's face flush.
Ye Linyan finished the wine in his glass in one gulp, stood up, and went upstairs, his body slightly swaying.
Han Lu watched as Ye Linyan paused noticeably at the top of the stairs on the second floor before returning to her bedroom.
After tidying up the table and putting the wine in the wine cabinet, Han Lu returned to her room on the first floor.
————————————————————————
Ye Linyan drank too quickly tonight and got drunk fast. He fell asleep on the bed without even taking off his clothes.
I don't know when, but I was awakened by a series of banging noises from downstairs and Han Lu's crying...
Ye Linyan sat up and patted her still dizzy head.
The noise downstairs continued, and Han Lu's intermittent sobs did not stop.
Ye Linyan got up and walked to the bedroom door, only to find that the door was only half closed. No wonder the noise downstairs could be heard so clearly!
Reaching the railing on the second floor, Ye Linyan looked down.
Han Lu was seen crying in the living room on the first floor. Clothes and other personal belongings were scattered all over the floor.
Before Ye Linyan could even speak, a suitcase was thrown out of the room on the first floor and crashed onto the living room floor tiles with a loud thud!
"What are you doing?"
Ye Linyan's head was still very uncomfortable; the loud noise had given him a throbbing headache.
"President Ye~"
Han Lu looked up and saw Ye Linyan standing on the second floor. She called out to him with great grievance.
The noise in the first-floor room paused for a few seconds after Ye Linyan's voice rang out, then resumed, louder than before!
Things kept being thrown out of the room. Ye Linyan took a closer look and realized they were all Han Lu's personal belongings.
I quickly walked a few steps to the top of the stairs and saw the guest room door wide open...................
