Chapter 34

Chapter 34

Outside the red fog-covered area, Shelley tossed the last armed SWAT officer in his line of sight to the ground and calmly dusted off imaginary dust from his hands.

"I've got this sorted out! Louis, what about you?"

Louis kicked the only SWAT officer he had knocked down—who had been knocked unconscious with a brick—feeling extremely annoyed: "It feels so bad not being able to use my abilities."

The ability is still usable, but it's useless against these people—this group of SWAT officers came here specifically to deal with this red fog, and gas masks are standard equipment for them.

Moreover, the SWAT uniforms are already very tight, so skin penetration is useless.

His knife... was useless against their bulletproof vests.

Finally, while Shelley had everyone's attention, he knocked someone unconscious by hitting them on the neck with a brick (he was wearing a bulletproof helmet), barely managing to avoid a zero-kill record.

"But something just doesn't feel right..."

Louis scratched his head in frustration, messing up Robert's neatly styled hair.

"Even if the government sees such a large red fog and thinks it's just poison gas and nothing to worry about—how much of a commotion did Barry cause in the sky? Why did they only send a few SWAT officers?"

“I’d love to say it might be because politicians are idiots, but that’s obviously impossible.” Shelley looked up at the sky. “But… Louis, do you have a jinx? The fighter jets are coming.”

Looking at the three fighter jets in the sky, Louis was also speechless: "Maybe they're giving me face."

Shelley rolled her eyes at Louis again and looked up at the sky again.

"I don't think Barry will be in any trouble... but am I really sure everything will be alright? I have a little bit of a panic..."

"What's the panic? Once Barry stops time, no one can hurt him."

Louis, who had been tugging at his tie and had even messed up Robert's tie which he had spent so long adjusting, had already turned his gaze away from the sky.

“That being said, but… think about the UN’s past operations, Louis,” Shelley said seriously, counting on her fingers, “the probability of something going wrong is almost one hundred percent! There’s definitely going to be a problem!”

"Shelley, that's superstition."

Louis was speechless.

"Also, Barry flew down while you were busy fighting the cops, and there are only clouds there now."

Two missiles were launched from the lead fighter jet. However, they pierced directly through the clouds and flew into the distance.

Mary Shelley: "..." Mary Shelley: "Louis, why didn't you say so sooner?"

Louis shrugged: "I forgot to mention what just happened while you were busy beating someone up."

However, just as Verne and his crew were preparing to set sail for the Nautilus, they called Barry back; in fact, it wasn't just now.

Before that, Barry had manipulated the remaining gas clouds to create a "massive secondary explosion"—that is, a bunch of gas clouds rushed down around him to avoid being discovered, which was actually quite conspicuous.

However, to save Shelley's face, it's best not to say anything.

The fighter jets in the sky began to circle, giving people a very confusing feeling.

Shelley clicked her tongue: "For some reason, I feel a little sorry for her."

Louis didn't reply, but instead gave Shelley a sharp rap on the head: "Don't do such vulgar things!"

Louis's powerful flick on the forehead was like a tickle to Shelley; she didn't even flinch. Shelley turned to look at Louis and then started jumping around again.

"Smacking your lips, how is that vulgar!"

British gentleman Louis Stevenson: "Vulgar!"

"Louis, what right do you have to talk to me like that!"

Louis glanced down at his t-shirt, which was now a mess, and the jacket draped over his back, then looked up angrily: "Don't follow my example! Follow Robert's example!"

For Louis himself, whether or not one behaves elegantly is actually a very casual matter (while Robert is slightly obsessive-compulsive).

However, Shelley's upbringing was very strict. A legendary example of a negative parent! :)

Robert was very strict with himself but lenient with Shelley, the exact opposite of Louis.

Perhaps teaching by example can also be effective?

At this moment, Louis, who is lenient with himself but strict with others, is trying to restrain the impetuous Mary Shelley and get her to behave more civilly.

"Shelley, stand still! Jumping around like that—oops!"

Louis collapsed, pale-faced, after being struck in the stomach by Shelley's headbutt.

Shelley, who had accidentally bumped into Louis, hurriedly caught him, as Louis seemed about to fall to the ground.

"Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" vs. "Frankenstein" - "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" is completely defeated.

Just as Louis and Shelley were in a state of chaos, the fighter jets in the sky stopped circling and flew back in the direction they had come from.

Louis, still pale-faced, looked up at the sky: "Gone?"

Because of the height difference, Shelley, who was using her head to brace against Louis's waist to prevent him from falling, glanced upwards with difficulty: "It seems so?"

"In my experience, this is when some really powerful people will emerge."

“Yes, that’s how it’s drawn in comics.” Shelley nodded in strong agreement, causing Louis, who was being supported by Shelley, to tremble.

Louis looked down and silently watched Shelley.

Shelley's movements became less erratic, and she changed her tune: "Haven't the UN always acted this way before?"

Louis looked up at the sky: "All the actions I took before were my own doing."

"That's right, after all, it's a crosstalk club."

"Don't imitate Pu Songling's way of speaking."

Louis and Shelley bickered like a perfectly synchronized...comedy duo.

The distance is more than a kilometer away.

"They really have a good relationship."

Wearing a military uniform, he squatted on the ground, a suspicious-looking man with squinty eyes listening intently to something.

Behind him, a strange man with short black hair and eye makeup, wearing the same military uniform as him, was doing squats.

—It emitted a strong smell of sweat.

With squinting eyes, his body trembled slightly, and finally, unable to resist, he pulled out his gun.

"You better stop! Stop polluting my sense of smell!"

With a slight glance in this direction, the black-haired man waved his hand, deflecting all three incoming bullets.

Using one's hand to shoot someone away is clearly an act that completely violates human physiology, but the squinty-eyed man clicked his tongue as if it were commonplace, and then put the gun away.

"So why do you do squats?"

The black-haired man thought for two seconds with a blank expression: "For warm-up."

"Did you just come up with this reason on the spot?"

The squinty-eyed man seemed to be angered.

"You muscle idiot, you're just bored, aren't you?"

This time, the black-haired youth answered without hesitation: "Yes."

Squinty eyes: I'm furious_

"Tōno, let's stop talking about these pointless things." The black-haired man stopped squatting and stood up. "Let's go arrest the criminals."

"Who did all this pointless stuff?"

The squinty-eyed man, who had just let out a roar, didn't look back at the figure behind him, but turned around and charged straight out.

Heading toward Louis and Shelley, at an incredible speed.

The black-haired man, Suehiro Tetsusuke, shrugged and followed at an inhuman speed.

Perhaps this can be described in one sentence.

"Hound" joins
