Chapter 9 009

Chapter 9 009

On the streets of Yokohama, a blonde little girl dressed in a dress is skipping and hopping along the road.

No, it should be said that they were jumping around looking at a middle-aged man in a doctor's coat who looked like he was about to cry not far away.

This can be considered one of the more classic scenes in Yokohama, a game of hide-and-seek between the blonde little girl, Alice, and the decadent doctor, Mori Ougai.

Alice, a creation of supernatural abilities, was responsible for hiding to make Mori Ougai anxious, while Mori Ougai was responsible for searching for her very hard.

What's particularly ingenious about this is that all of Alice's actions were designed by Mori Ougai, including the part where she occasionally runs away, making Mori Ougai anxious...

Although we don't know what Sen Ou is thinking, there's nothing we can do about it since he just likes this kind of approach.

But today, it seems there's been a slight problem...

Alice, who was strolling among the crowd, suddenly frowned slightly. But she didn't change her movements at all and continued skipping forward.

About forty meters behind me, I heard footsteps approaching.

His breathing was slightly heavy, he seemed very excited, and his steps were light. Had he undergone vocational training?

Kidnapping or simply a perverted crime?

With absolutely no intention of alerting the enemy, Alice remained standing, silently listening to the footsteps behind her.

Alice, who was set to directly attack any pervert who wasn't Sen's outsider, didn't make a scene like everyone else, but instead immediately went into battle mode.

The person approaching her from behind made very light footsteps, but their pace was not slow.

They gradually approached, and after a brief, sudden pause, the sound of their feet stomping on the ground became even more pronounced than before.

Has it pounced on me...?

Alice swiftly turned and dodged, her delicate face expressionless, immediately adopting a defensive stance.

Then Alice saw on the ground... a chestnut-haired little girl who looked about her age, wearing an even more elaborate outfit that was closer to a formal dress than a dress, stood up, covering her face.

"Ouch, ouch, ouch..." The chestnut-haired girl pulled a handkerchief from somewhere on her dress and covered her nose, then rubbed it and smacked her nose, which had just hit the ground—"I missed!"

Alice paused for half a second in response to this situation, then immediately returned to her usual self.

With one hand on her hip and the other pointing arrogantly at the chestnut-haired girl who had just stood up, Alice shouted loudly.

Hey you over there! What were you trying to do?!

The chestnut-haired girl was instantly drawn to Alice's voice, and without hesitation, she turned around, jumped, and pounced towards Alice once again.

"A lovely little girl!"

Alice dodged again, and the chestnut-haired girl who had pounced on her fell to the ground once more.

Alice looked at the chestnut-haired girl who was standing up again, covering her nose, with disgust.

"You actually actually pounced!"

And they jumped so hard.

The chestnut-haired girl, who had gotten up, covered her nose, which had been injured again, and looked at Alice with a look of reverence.

"This is proof of my love!"

Alice's expression of disgust deepened.

"Your nose is bleeding."

The chestnut-haired girl was startled. She took off the handkerchief covering her nose and looked at it. She did see a patch of red.

After thinking for a moment, the chestnut-haired girl quickly... covered her nose with the handkerchief again.

"At least use a different handkerchief!" Alice snapped. "You wiped your own face covered in blood, you idiot!"

"Well, I only brought a handkerchief." The chestnut-haired girl, her face smeared with blood, didn't seem to care. "This is also proof of my love!"

"Who would want this kind of proof!"

"No, you must know that this boiling blood represents my gushing true feelings!"

"No matter what you say, it's still a nosebleed! How disgusting!"

And so, the blonde girl and the chestnut-haired girl started arguing in the street.

It has to be said that the scene of two young girls arguing was quite eye-catching, and many passersby were drawn to the commotion.

This naturally includes... a certain颓废 (颓废 is a difficult word to translate directly, but it implies a state of being decadent, dispirited, or demoralized) doctor.

"Alice!!"

The dejected doctor ran over, sobbing, his expression perfectly conveying the character's state of mind.

It has to be said that he is far superior to the Don Quixote of the local rural drama troupe.

Alice pushed Mori Ougai's face away with obvious disgust—"Idiot Rintaro! I'm arguing with someone!"

"Alice, why are you arguing..." With genuine emotion, Mori took out a tissue to wipe away his tears and pulled out several candies from his coat—"If you've eaten the candy, then don't argue, okay?"

"Rintaro, you big idiot!" Alice nearly turned into a pufferfish in anger—"What does it have to do with the candy here?!"

Across from them, the chestnut-haired little girl looked at the angry Alice, then at the sobbing Mori, and suddenly collapsed to the ground in a panic.

"Damn it, the cute little girl I finally saw is already taken...?"

The chestnut-haired girl suddenly fell into a state of despondency.

On the other side, wiping away the few tears that he had easily squeezed out, Mori Ougai looked at the chestnut-haired little girl who had suddenly appeared opposite him.

Her chestnut-colored hair and eyes, along with her fair skin, made her look quite adorable... Wait, that's not the point. Although her physical features, tone, and personality were quite in line with the image of a twelve-year-old girl, Mori Ougai suddenly sensed something was off.

This character is portrayed so perfectly, just like... "Alice".

It's not a natural expression of genuine emotion, but rather... a pre-programmed emotional expression.

Is this a test from one side?

But the first step... let's at least try to build a closer relationship first.

With a smile, Sen Ou handed the candy in his hand to the chestnut-haired little girl who was muttering to herself.

Would you like some candy?

Upon hearing Mori Ougai's voice, the chestnut-haired girl suddenly looked at Mori Ougai standing in front of her with a rather sharp gaze.

"Since that's the case..."

Before Mori Ougai could react, the chestnut-haired little girl sprang up and grabbed Mori Ougai's hand.

"I won't stand on ceremony!"

The next moment, a bright light enveloped the location of Sen Ougai and the chestnut-haired girl.
