The Mystery of Huangyuan
After their thrilling adventure in the ancient town, Lin Yu and Suna had no time to rest before they hurriedly set off for Huangyuan, Qinghai. When they arrived in Huangyuan, it was dusk, and the afterglow of the setting sun gently covered the small town like a veil, giving it a mysterious and hazy color.
"Lin Yu, what do you think happened to this female teacher?" Su Na asked worriedly, looking out the car window at the gradually darkening scenery. Her eyes were filled with anxiety and confusion, her brows were slightly furrowed, and her lips were unconsciously pursed.
Lin Yu folded his arms across his chest, his brow furrowed, his gaze deep and solemn. "It's not clear yet, but it's definitely not simple." His voice was low and serious, as he secretly considered various possible scenarios. "For someone to disappear like this for no apparent reason, there must be a hidden secret behind it." He secretly made up his mind to solve this mystery.
When they arrived at the teacher's school, the campus was utterly silent. The last rays of sunset faded into the horizon, and darkness gradually engulfed the entire campus. The empty playground and the silent teaching building seemed shrouded in an invisible oppression, making people feel suffocated.
"Why is this school so quiet? It's so quiet that it makes me feel creepy." Su Na grabbed Lin Yu's arm tightly, her voice trembling.
Lin Yu patted Suna's hand gently and comforted her: "Don't be afraid, I'm here."
They walked into the school's office building. The lights in the corridor were dim and flickering, making a crackling sound as if they would go out at any moment. Every step they took echoed in the empty corridor, breaking the dead silence.
After communicating with the school, they learned that the female teacher had disappeared overnight without leaving any clues. The items in the office were neatly arranged, and there were no signs of fighting or struggling, as if she had disappeared voluntarily.
"This is so strange! How could a living person just vanish out of thin air?" Suna was incredulous. She paced back and forth in the office, trying to find some clues in this seemingly ordinary scene. "Could she have been taken away by some mysterious force?" Her imagination, driven by fear, began to run wild.
Lin Yu was at the teacher's desk, carefully searching every corner. He opened the drawers and flipped through the documents and books inside, hoping to find some useful information.
"Suna, look at this." Lin Yu's voice broke Su Na's wild thoughts, and a hint of excitement flashed in his eyes.
Su Na hurried over and saw Lin Yu holding a diary hidden deep in a drawer. The cover of the diary was a little worn, as if it had experienced many unknown stories.
They carefully opened the diary. The handwriting was messy, and some places were even soaked with tears, blurring out. It seemed as if it was written in extreme fear.
"I feel like someone is following me..." Suna read the contents of the diary, her voice unconsciously lowered, as if she was afraid of being heard by the unknown stalker. Her heartbeat suddenly accelerated, and a chill ran down her spine.
"I've been having nightmares these past few days. I dreamed of a dark shadow whose face I couldn't see clearly..." Lin Yu continued reading, his brows furrowed even more tightly.
At this moment, a strange sound suddenly came from outside the window. The sound was like the snapping of branches, or like someone sobbing softly.
Su Na screamed in fear and hid behind Lin Yu. "Lin Yu, what's that sound?" Her voice trembled violently, and her hands tightly grasped Lin Yu's clothes.
Lin Yu's nerves instantly tensed up. He looked out the window warily, but saw nothing. "Don't make a sound. Take a look at the situation first," he said softly.
They quietly approached the window, and Lin Yu slowly poked his head out and looked out. The garden outside the window was pitch black, with only the outlines of a few trees faintly visible in the faint starlight.
Suddenly, a dark shadow flashed past from behind a tree.
"Who's there?" Lin Yu shouted loudly.
The only answer he got was dead silence.
"No, we have to go out and take a look." Lin Yu took a deep breath and made up his mind.
"But, will it be dangerous?" Suna said worriedly.
"We can't miss any clues. Maybe this is the key to finding the female teacher." Lin Yu said firmly.
They walked out of the office cautiously and stepped into the dark garden...
