Chapter 109: Chasing in the Dark

Chasing in the Dark

Lin Yu and Suna walked into the garden cautiously, each step so light that it was almost inaudible. Their breathing became cautious, as if a little louder would alert the unknown danger hidden in the darkness.

"Lin Yu, I'm so scared." Suna's voice trembled, and she held Lin Yu's arm tightly with both hands. Her body was shaking constantly, and her eyes looked around in fear. "I always feel like something is going to suddenly rush out." Her heart was beating rapidly, as if it was about to jump out of her throat.

Lin Yu feigned composure. He could feel his heartbeat quickening, but he knew he couldn't show fear at this moment. "Don't be afraid, Suna. Let's be careful." He tried to keep his voice steady, trying to reassure Suna. "As long as we're together, we'll definitely find the clues," he silently encouraged himself.

A cold wind blew, rustling the leaves, and the sound seemed to hide countless pairs of eyes peeping at them. The wind brushed across their faces, bringing a hint of chill, making them shiver.

They slowly groped their way in the direction where the shadow disappeared. The grass under their feet was wet, and with every step they took they could feel the water droplets on the grass seeping into their shoes, making their steps a little unsteady.

Suddenly, Suna stepped on something soft, and she almost cried out in fright. Her body froze instantly, and a suppressed cry came from her throat.

"What's wrong?" Lin Yu asked nervously, his nerves instantly tense, and the light of the mobile phone in his hand quickly shone at Suna's feet.

"I... I don't know, it seems like something." Suna's voice was filled with tears, her eyes fixed on the ground, not daring to move at all.

Lin Yu used his phone to illuminate it and found it was a worn-out rag doll. Its hair was tangled and messy, and its makeup was blurred, leaving only a pair of empty eyes. Under the light of the phone, it looked particularly strange.

"It's just a rag doll, don't be afraid." Lin Yu comforted her. Although his voice was calm, he was also a little scared by this sudden discovery. He picked up the rag doll and looked at it carefully, and found some strange stains and signs of wear on it.

Suna took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. "Why is this doll here? It feels so weird."

Lin Yu shook his head. "I don't know, but it's definitely related to the disappearance of this female teacher."

Continuing forward, they came to the corner of the garden and found a half-open wooden door. The door looked very old, with the paint peeling off, revealing the rotten wood inside.

"What's behind this door?" Suna asked, her voice filled with fear and curiosity.

Lin Yu hesitated for a moment, his heart filled with uneasiness, but a strong sense of curiosity and responsibility drove him. "Never mind, let's go in and take a look."

They gently pushed the door open, and a stale, decaying smell filled the air. The room was dark, damp, and cluttered with junk. Old, worn furniture lay haphazardly, covered in dust and cobwebs.

Just then, they heard a deep breathing sound, which was heavy and slow, as if coming from a huge creature.

"Lin Yu..." Su Na grabbed Lin Yu's arm tightly, her voice trembling so much that she could hardly speak.

Lin Yu also felt a chill rising from his spine, but he still pretended to be calm, "Don't be afraid, it might be the wind."

However, the breathing sound became clearer and clearer, as if it was right next to their ears.

"This... this is not the sound of the wind." Suna's voice was filled with desperate tears.

Lin Yu clenched the phone in his hand and shone the light in the direction of the sound. In the corner, they saw a huge black shadow.

"Who is it?" Lin Yu shouted loudly.

The shadow didn't answer, but his breathing became more rapid.

Lin Yu pulled Su Na back slowly, "Let's go out first."

They turned and ran towards the door, but it suddenly slammed shut.

"Oh no, the door is closed!" Suna shouted in horror.

Lin Yu pulled hard at the door, but it didn't budge. "Calm down, there must be a way to open it."

At this moment, the shadow slowly moved towards them, and the heavy footsteps echoed in the silent room.

"What should we do? Lin Yu, are we going to die here?" Su Na's tears burst out.

Lin Yu's brain was working rapidly, "See if there is another exit."

As they groped in the darkness, their hands touched all sorts of strange things, including worn-out boxes and cold metal objects.

The shadows were getting closer and closer, and they could feel a strong sense of oppression.

"Here!" Lin Yu found a window.

They rushed to the window and tried to open it, but it seemed to be locked and could not be opened.

The dark shadow had come behind them, and a chill spread.

"Push harder!" Lin Yu and Suna worked together and finally pushed the window open.

They jumped out recklessly and fell to the ground.

"Let's go!" Lin Yu pulled Su Na up and fled desperately from this terrible place.

They kept running until they returned to the school office building, where they stopped panting.

"It's so scary, what on earth is that thing?" Suna collapsed on the ground, gasping for breath.

Lin Yu was also exhausted, but his eyes remained firm, "Whatever it is, we must find out.
