Chapter 114: Exploring Kunlun

Exploring Kunlun

After resolving the school's terrifying crisis, Lin Yu, Suna, and the principal's lives temporarily return to a semblance of peace. However, a legend about a mysterious old man near Kunlun Mountain, like a pebble dropped into a calm lake, stirs up ripples in their hearts.

It was a quiet afternoon, sunlight filtering through dappled leaves into the school library. Lin Yu was casually flipping through an ancient book when he stumbled upon a passage about the mysterious old men of Kunlun Mountain. Deep within the remote and mysterious Kunlun Mountains, legend has it, there exist mysterious elders who were once humble servants and skilled craftsmen carving Kunlun jade. However, through unknown circumstances, they transformed themselves into Taoist practitioners. It's said that these elders spend their days engrossed in carving the Taiyi Heart Mantra, "Taiyi Jiuku Tianzun," seeking inner peace and transcendence.

"This legend sounds mysterious. Perhaps it hides some unknown secrets," Lin Yu said thoughtfully. He looked away from the book and gazed at the blue sky outside the window, his heart filled with curiosity and a desire to explore.

Su Na happened to be walking over and heard Lin Yu's words. She leaned over and looked at the record in the book, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "Yeah, I find it strange too. Why would they switch from jade carving to spiritual practice? Something significant must have happened in between."

The principal was also drawn into their discussion. He put on his glasses and carefully read the text. After a moment of contemplation, he said, "Perhaps there is a profound historical and cultural background behind this. Kunlun Mountain has been a symbol of mystery since ancient times. Perhaps it hides power and wisdom that we cannot imagine."

The three people's eyes met, and a tacit understanding quietly formed between them.

"How about we go to Kunlun Mountain and find out?" Lin Yu suggested, with a hint of anticipation and adventure in his voice.

Suna hesitated for a moment, "But Kunlun Mountain is so far away, and it is said to be very dangerous."

The principal smiled and encouraged, "Danger often comes with opportunity and truth. If we don't try, we'll never know the answer."

Suna bit her lip and finally nodded, "Okay, let's go!"

So the three of them began to make careful preparations. They packed their bags, prepared enough food and water, and also took some necessary tools and equipment.

A few days later, they set out on their journey to Kunlun Mountain. Along the way, the scenery was picturesque, but they were also filled with tension and anticipation.

They journeyed along a rugged mountain path, surrounded by towering peaks and deep canyons. The peaks, like colossal giants, towered majestically between heaven and earth, while the canyons, like wounds in the earth, seemed bottomless. The path twisted and turned, littered with rocks of varying sizes and potholes, making every step a challenge.

"This road is so difficult to walk on." Suna complained, her forehead was covered with sweat and her face looked a little pale with fatigue.

Lin Yu comforted her: "Hold on a little longer, maybe there will be new discoveries ahead. Think about those mysterious old men, maybe their stories will make all this worthwhile."

Suna nodded, took a deep breath, and continued to move forward with difficulty.

As they walked, they came across a small village. The village was nestled at the foot of a mountain, surrounded by lush trees and a gurgling stream. But the atmosphere in the village was eerie, and the silence was unsettling.

When they asked the villagers about the mysterious old man, they saw surprise and fear on their faces.

"It's very dangerous there, you'd better not go there," an elderly villager advised, his eyes filled with worry. "There are many unknown dangers deep in the Kunlun Mountains, beyond your imagination."

Another villager chimed in, "Yeah, I heard there's an evil spirit there that can take people's souls."

But the three were not intimidated. They firmly stated that they must find out the truth.

"We are not afraid of danger, we just want to know the stories of those old people," said Lin Yu.

The principal added: "We believe that as long as we have awe and courage, we will be able to find the answer."

Seeing how determined they were, the villagers could only shake their heads helplessly.

After leaving the village, they continued on their way, the mountain road becoming steeper and the air thinner.

"I feel like it's difficult to breathe." Suna said, gasping.

Lin Yu handed her a bottle of water and said, "Drink some water and adjust your breathing."

The principal looked up at the towering mountain ahead and said, "We have come so far. We can't give up halfway."

Finally, after several days of arduous trekking, they saw a simple cave halfway up a mountain. The entrance of the cave was covered by vines and weeds, and it was difficult to find without careful observation.

"Maybe this is the place where those old people practice." Lin Yu said in a low voice, with a hint of excitement and nervousness in his voice.

They approached the cave cautiously, their heartbeats distinct in the silent valley. The cave was filled with a faint scent of sandalwood, and faint candlelight flickered on the walls.

They walked into the cave and saw a white-haired old man concentrating on carving jade. His face was deeply wrinkled by time, but his eyes were extremely focused and clear.

"Hello, old man." Lin Yu said softly.

The old man raised his head, looked at them, said nothing, and continued to carve with his head down.

Lin Yu and others looked at each other, not knowing what to do.

At this moment, a low whistling sound suddenly came from the cave, as if something was approaching...
