Crisis in the Valley
The low roar was getting closer and closer, like a roar coming from the depths of hell, echoing continuously in the valley, shaking the surrounding stone walls slightly. Lin Yu and Su Na stood back to back, their bodies tense, their hearts beating rapidly, and every beat seemed like a drumbeat of fear.
"Lin Yu, what's that sound?" Su Na's voice was filled with fear. Her voice trembled like a leaf in the wind, and every word was filled with deep trembling and uneasiness. Her eyes were wide open in fear, and she looked around, trying to find the source of the sound in the darkness.
"I don't know, but he's definitely not a good person." Lin Yu gripped the branch tightly, his palms slick with sweat, making it slippery and nearly slipping from his grasp. His breathing was rapid and erratic, and his heart felt like it was about to burst out of his throat. His mind raced, trying to think of a way to respond, but fear, like an invisible hand, strangled his thoughts.
At that moment, a gigantic, matted-haired monster burst forth from the darkness. Its body was as massive as a mountain, and every step it took caused the ground to tremble slightly. Its fur was tangled, stained with dirt and blood, and emanated a sickening stench. Its bloody maw gaped open, and from it gushed a stream of hot air mingled with the stench of decay. Its sharp fangs gleamed coldly in the darkness, like the scythe of death, ready to reap life. Its eyes gleamed with a fierce light, a light filled with murder and bloodshed.
Seeing the terrifying monster, Su Na's legs gave way, and she collapsed to the ground. "Lin Yu, what should we do?" Her voice was filled with despair, and tears flowed uncontrollably from her eyes, streaking across her face, which had turned pale with fear.
Lin Yu suppressed his fear and pulled Suna up. "Don't be afraid, let's find a place to hide first." His voice was trembling, but he tried to remain calm. He quickly scanned the valley, looking for a place to hide.
They ran around in the valley, the ground under their feet was slippery and muddy, and every step was likely to cause a fall. The darkness around them seemed to have a life, constantly squeezing them and making them feel suffocated.
"There!" Lin Yu suddenly found a narrow cave, the entrance of which was covered by some weeds and vines.
"Hurry, go in!" Lin Yu shouted loudly, pushing Suna into the cave. Suna staggered into the cave, her hands groping on the wall, trying to find a support point.
Lin Yu stood guard at the cave entrance, his eyes fixed on the monster that was gradually approaching. His breathing was rapid, his chest heaving violently, and the branch in his hand was slightly bent from excessive force.
The monster rushed toward them, its footsteps like thunder, each step carrying the power of destruction. Lin Yu raised a branch, trying to drive it away. "Go away! Go away!" he shouted, his voice echoing through the valley.
But the monster was not moved at all, its eyes only focused on prey and the desire to kill. It opened its mouth wide and pounced towards Lin Yu.
Just as the monster was about to pounce on Lin Yu, his eyes suddenly caught sight of a massive rock nearby. The rock was more than a man's height and incredibly heavy. But in this life-or-death situation, Lin Yu didn't hesitate. He pushed the rock with all his might, his voice pierced by pain with each push.
"Ah!" Lin Yu's face was distorted due to the force, and sweat fell like rain.
Finally, the stone began to roll slowly.
The stone rolled down and temporarily blocked the monster's way. The monster was blocked by the stone and roared angrily, scratching the stone with its claws, trying to break through the obstacle.
"Suna, are you okay?" Lin Yu asked, panting. His voice was weak and tired, but full of concern.
"I'm fine, Lin Yu, be careful!" Suna shouted anxiously in the cave, her voice full of worry and fear.
Lin Yu stared at the monster blocked by the stone, and the fear in his heart did not diminish in the slightest. He knew that the stone could only temporarily block the monster, and they had to find a way to leave here as soon as possible and continue searching for the holy object.
"Suna, we have to find a way to get out from the other side." Lin Yu said, his eyes searching the cave.
The cave was filled with a damp smell, water droplets were dripping from the walls, and the ground was covered with gravel and dirt.
"Okay, I'll listen to you." Suna responded.
Lin Yu carefully groped along the wall of the cave, trying to find an exit. Suddenly, he felt a cool breeze blowing from one side.
"There may be an exit here." Lin Yu said.
They walked towards the cool breeze, and the road under their feet became narrower and narrower, so they could only bend over to move forward.
"Lin Yu, I'm scared." Suna's voice sounded particularly small in the darkness.
"Don't be afraid, we'll be out soon." Lin Yu comforted.
Just then, they heard a loud noise behind them. It was the monster breaking through the stone barrier.
"Run!" Lin Yu pulled Su Na and quickened his pace.
The passage ahead became narrower and narrower, and they had to pass sideways.
"Ah!" Suna's arm was scratched by the stone wall.
"Hold on!" Lin Yu said.
Finally, they saw a ray of light ahead.
"It's the exit!" Lin Yu said excitedly.
They ran desperately towards the exit, and when they ran out of the cave, the sunlight shone on them, bringing a touch of warmth and hope.
But they knew that the danger was not over yet, and they still had to move on to find the holy relic and lift the curse...
