Crisis in the Dark
In this endless darkness, Lin Yu and Su Na stood back to back, their bodies tightly attached, as if they could draw a trace of courage and strength from each other. The tense emotions were like an invisible net, binding them tightly.
"Lin Yu, I feel it coming." Suna's voice was filled with despair, and every word trembled, as if frozen in the air by fear. Her heartbeat was so rapid that it seemed to burst out of her chest. Various terrifying scenes kept appearing in her mind, imagining the hideous appearance of that unknown terrifying existence.
"Don't be afraid, Suna. As long as we're together, we'll find a way to cope." Lin Yu feigned composure, trying to comfort Suna. However, his heart was also churning, filled with fear. He could feel his back soaked with sweat. He clenched his fists, his nails digging deep into his palms, trying to distract himself from the pain.
Suddenly, the footsteps stopped, and a deathly silence fell. This silence was even more eerie than the previous noise, as if the entire world had frozen in time. Every second of silence was like a heavy hammer, hammering at their fragile nerves.
"Why is it silent? Is it preparing to attack us?" Suna asked tremblingly, her voice as thin as a mosquito, as if she was afraid of alarming the terrifying existence hidden in the darkness.
Lin Yu swallowed, trying to sound calmer. "Maybe... maybe it's observing us. But no matter what, we can't just sit there and wait for death." His mind raced, thinking of various possible strategies, but in this extreme fear and darkness, his thinking seemed to slow down.
At this moment, they felt a powerful breath coming towards them. The breath was cold and evil, as if carrying endless resentment and murderous intent.
"Ah!" Suna screamed again, and the scream sounded so shrill and helpless in the darkness.
"Run!" Lin Yu didn't have time to think about it. He grabbed Suna's hand and ran towards what they thought was the exit. In the darkness, their footsteps were messy and rapid, and their heartbeats and panting were intertwined.
However, they lost their way in the darkness, and every step was filled with uncertainty. They kept bumping into walls and pillars, and their bodies were in pain, but they didn't care about that at the moment.
"Lin Yu, I can't run anymore." Suna gasped, her voice filled with exhaustion and despair. Her legs felt as heavy as lead, and every step required tremendous effort.
"We can't stop, Suna, we have to keep running!" Lin Yu shouted loudly, with a hint of urgency and anxiety in his voice. He knew that if he stopped, the consequences would be disastrous.
They continued to struggle forward in the darkness, their hope gradually dimming with every collision.
"Lin Yu, I really can't take it anymore. I... I have no strength left." Su Na's voice became weaker and weaker, her steps became slower and slower, and she almost collapsed to the ground.
Lin Yu held Suna's hand tightly, "Suna, hold on, we will definitely get out." His voice was full of determination and encouragement, but his heart was full of helplessness and fear.
Just when they felt despair, Lin Yu's hand accidentally touched his backpack, and an idea flashed through his mind.
"Suna, wait a minute, I'll get the flashlight." Lin Yu said, fumbling around in his backpack. His fingers became clumsy because of nervousness, and he searched around in the backpack randomly.
"Hurry up, Lin Yu, I feel it's getting closer." Suna's voice was filled with tears, and fear almost swallowed her.
Finally, Lin Yu found the flashlight and turned it on with trembling hands. A bright light instantly cut through the darkness, and a blurry scene appeared before their eyes.
"Great, there's light!" Lin Yu said excitedly.
However, when they saw the scene clearly, they gasped in shock...
